One is small and personal - the "I" of everyday life, and our other, our greater identity, is cosmic scale, the unitary spirit of us all, God's original perfect creation, which we echo in form, the cosmic being Paracelsus called Adam Kadmon. There are other ways, words and metaphors to describe the same thing. "adding a dimension(s) to consciousness," means we become conscious of the much larger reality which has always been there.
