Any oldanons work on the family farm as youngsters. Starting at 7 or 8 pitching hay onto the wagon and then riding it to barn and then pitch the hay into the barn? Then go back and load another wagon and do it maybe 4 or 5 times a day? Cut hay, depending on the season, maybe 5 times a summer-fall. Then get to be 12-13 and start driving vehicles. Had a network of dirt roads where, after work, could drive probably a 25 mile radius without having to drive on a paved county road. The 15 year olds were in charge, the 12-14 year olds would get a turn. That old pickup went into the ditch more times than I can count. But we always got back.

It was a different time back then.
