The whole problem, I think, is that it places the family's continuance upon the whims of a volatile market. Sure everything was working well when the markets were strong, but now that they aren't anymore nobody has much of anything to fall back upon as we're seeing the homeless population explode.

I feel like a lot of actors haven't yet clued in to just how enormous the cycle that's currently turning is, and they're still focusing their attention and efforts towards dealing with much smaller cycles. I'm not talking about rando anons either, but large government and corporate actors.

A system created by humans can only be solved by human methods, which themselves are subject to the exact same flaws as the system it attempts to fix. The whole reason behind families living together through all stages of life is THAT system was created by God, and as such it is fundamentally far more stable than any man made system ever will be.

Our whole problem right now is that people keep trying to patch leaks, but there are so many that our boat is almost nothing but patches anymore. We need to instead look back at where we may have made errors previously and look at how we can undo those errors.
