The love of money is the root of all evil. I always thought it meant just literal money, but I just thought of something… Jesus said all these things are done in parable.

 

Jesus also said an evil generation wants a sign, but the only sign they'll get is the sign of the prophet Jonah. Jonah was swallowed by a great fish, not a whale.

 

Jesus said the money to pay the temple tax would be found in the mouth of a fish.

 

Is it the love of that money that's the root of all evil?

I forgot to add, I always found it interesting that in Revelation 21, when Jesus appears and asks them if they've caught any fish (no) He tells them to pull the net up that's on the left side of the boat and cast it on the right. They did so and pulled up 153 fish.

 

153 is a specific number, there has to be a reason for it.

 

1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10+11+12+13+14+15+16+17 = 153

 

Every number from 1-17 added together is 153.
