This is neat.
This means that CONGRESS is now demanding the release of all original drafts of the report. Working drafts that "might" include the finishing touches of redactions.
Remember Wray's two most salient remarks from Today's press conference:
>Reporter: "Describe your reaction to the [IG] report in one word."
>Wray: "Disappointed."
and
>Wray: "We have an obligation to be responsible to legitimate Congressional oversight […] We also have an obligation to protect sources and methods, and to adhere to grand jury secrecy, and things like that..
Congress has demanded to see the previous iterations, which the FBI logically has to either produce, or make a damned good excuse for not producing.
The question is a rhetorical one and will last long enough for the silence to deafen everyone: certainly long enough for the media to eat it all up. In the end, the answer will come from a signed and dated EO at some point in the coming days/weeks (independence day?), per Q1443– go reread this ENTIRE thing. There's more there that's beyond me.
I wonder if it has anything to do with the Declaration post from a couple days ago.
