President Trump Shares Article About a Trump v DeSantis Matchup

September 17, 2022 | Sundance

The ‘cut to the chase‘ aspect of whether Ron DeSantis is planning to run for the GOP nomination in 2024 is made clear when you realize just how much money the Florida governor has amassed. A standing total exceeding $200 million.

That $200 million is not only a staggering amount far beyond the need for his virtually certain governor’s victory, but also the largest amount of campaign money ever assembled by a governor in the history of politics {citation}. Meg Whitman, California ($176 million), and Jay Pritzker, Illinois ($176 million), were both multi-millionaires and funded the majority of their war chest. Almost all (96%) of DeSantis’ money is coming from multinational corporations, hedge funds, Wall Street firms and billionaires {citation}.

For those who are unfamiliar with the strategies of political funding, there is a timing that also highlights the intent. A conspicuously aligned timing that coincides with the Trump raid on Mar-a-Lago. Campaign finance reports are required and filled out quarterly. DeSantis had a massive war chest assembled through August 5th.

That finance revelation was immediately before the August 8th raid, before the week in the bunker, and before DeSantis reemerged August 14th with a new national branding team and communication change.

DeSantis took in even more billionaire donor checks with the national kick-off.

Everybody familiar with politics knows what that level of preparation and strategy means. DeSantis wasn’t amassing money of that scale, and simultaneously launching a new national branding campaign, for a state reelection bid. He was/is preparing for a 2024 presidential run. The only question was whether DeSantis had direct knowledge of the August 8th raid on Trump in advance, or whether he was just told not to ask questions and follow the advice of his new GOPe team. The latter is more likely.

That said, the best laid plans of mice and men were disrupted by the MAGA response to the Trump raid. As noted in the article shared by President Trump today, the professional republican donor class had -not accidentally- done a great job using their piranhas to nibble away at Trump’s support prior to the August 8th raid. However, the raid rallied the base of MAGA back to defend Donald Trump.

By the time DeSantis came out of his pre-planned bunker phase (Aug 8th through Aug 14th) the support for Donald Trump had surged again. The professionally republican handlers launched the national DeSantis campaign into indefatigable pro-Trump headwinds. DeSantis Inc stuck to the plan, but the benefit they anticipated was not there.

Unfortunately for DeSantis there’s no good way to retreat from the 2024 strategy his handlers and donors have mapped out. They have pushed him ‘all-in.’ I don’t think it’s possible for DeSantis Inc to back-down after accepting all that GOPe money, unless there is a way for them to return or redirect it.

The article President Trump shared today is a good contextual article describing the accuracy of the Trump -v- DeSantis landscape as it existed on August 29th, the date it was written.

One of the citations in the article points to John Thomas who was prepared with a pro-DeSantis PAC if the republican plan against Trump had succeeded.

As noted, the plan didn’t succeed, and with the outcome of the fulcrum event, the Mar-a-Lago raid, not having the desired effect, Thomas has now abandoned the idea of using the PAC to advance DeSantis.

(Business Insider) – […] But at least one GOP operative — John Thomas, founder and president of the political advertising and strategy group Thomas Partners Strategies — thinks it’s better for DeSantis to wait than to try to challenge Trump in 2024.

“I wouldn’t advise him to go head to head with Trump,” Thomas told Insider. “It’s not gonna go well for DeSantis.”

Until recently, Thomas was independently readying a political action committee to support DeSantis running for president….

DOJ Files Appellate Court Motion for Partial Stay Against Judge Cannon Ruling, DOJ Does Not Want Classified Documents Reviewed

September 17, 2022 | Sundance |

As the DOJ-NSD originally threatened, they have filed an appeal of the ruling by Judge Cannon in the Trump Mar-a-Lago document case. [Pdf Here]

The DOJ is requesting the 11th Circuit Court to intervene and “stay” or block a part of the ruling allowing the Special Master, Judge Raymond J Dearie, to review the “classified documents” and make an independent determination as to the validity of the DOJ-NSD claims.

Having read all the motions in the case, you can get a sense of the authorship from the motion. From my perspective this effort appears to have been written by the Lawfare group and filed by their allies in Main Justice at the DOJ National Security Division (DOJ-NSD). The bottom line is they really don’t want any outside party making a determination as to the status of the 100 “classified documents,” and/or consider if President Trump had previously declassified them.

The crux of their position is outlined in this part of the motion, which appears to hold a logical fallacy [pdf link Here]:

The framework of the appeal appears to be built on a false premise. The DOJ argument is contingent upon the government not having the original documents, and the claim is made AS IF there is only one copy. Even if this appeal is within the framework of a valid issue for an appellate court review (not a guarantee), when you apply commonsense the motion fails on its face.

The original documents are always retained by the originating agency. No one, not even the President, sees original intelligence documents from within any agency creating the product. Everything, including what President Trump would have seen while in office, and including any “read and return” version of the intelligence product, is a copy that stems from the originals. As a result, the executive branch (DOJ) has access to the originals regardless of what copies they may have retrieved from Mar-a-Lago.

Once again, the DOJ -together with the internal intelligence agency, likely the ODNI- is claiming to be the arbiter of the “classification” status of the documents at issue.

If President Trump declassified those documents before leaving office (he did), the “classification” status, another underlying premise, is automatically moot. This reality is the central flaw in the DOJ case and appears to form the basis for Main Justice to be so adamant against anyone else reviewing the documents.

So, there are two structural flaws: (1) There is more than one copy of the documents being argued, and the DOJ has access to the originals; and (2) the classified status of those documents is unknown (hence a special master), and if they were declassified the DOJ-NSD contention around them is automatically moot.

The Special Master appointed by judge Cannon is a former FISA Judge. Judge Raymond J Dearie likely has seen thousands of classified documents over the years, he is not a national security risk by reviewing another set of defined classified documents. Additionally, the documents have been in Mar-a-Lago for almost two years, the urgency claims by Main Justice look silly.

The DOJ-NSD looks desperate and nonsensical in this filing because the arguments being made by the DOJ-NSD are desperate and nonsensical.

The currently presented legal conflict is essentially over a judicial ruling that -if implemented- resolves the legal conflict. Therefore, there is no guarantee the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals will even take the DOJ motion under review. The legal conflict seemingly resolves if the existing judicial ruling is applied.

President Trump declassified documents showing how the corrupt DOJ and FBI targeted him. The corrupt DOJ and FBI went to Mar-a-Lago and took back the evidence against them in the raid, now saying no one should be allowed to see it.

Everything is becoming increasingly transparent.

Overlay the Durham probe and you discover, the govt people responsible for illegally targeting Trump are the same govt people responsible for investigating the illegal Trump targeting.

We keep watching….

Ukraine’s ‘unnatural’ borders should be redrawn – EU country’s ex-foreign minister

Romania’s former top diplomat has called upon Kiev to cede some of its territory to neighboring states

The borders of modern Ukraine are “unnatural,” and Kiev should cede parts of its territory to the neighboring states that these lands rightfully belong to, Romania’s ex-foreign minister, Andrei Marga, believes. The former diplomat made the explosive remark on Saturday as he presented his new book ‘The Fate of Democracy’ at the Alba Transylvania book fair.

The crisis around Ukraine must be solved through negotiations involving the major international players, including Russia, China, the US, and EU, Marga stated. The leading powers should come together and agree on a new “security structure” in Europe and worldwide, he suggested.

“If an agreement is not reached, there will be no peace in Europe. Without peace, democracy will suffer,” he said.

Ukraine, for its part, should cede certain territories to neighboring countries, the ex-minister suggested, calling the country’s existing borders “unnatural.” Marga listed the regions that were incorporated into then-Soviet Ukraine by the Communists, but which he thinks should be relinquished.

We are in a very special situation here, and I take this with all responsibility, Ukraine exists in unnatural borders. It should cede Transcarpathia to Hungary, Galicia to Poland, Bukovina to Romania, Donbass and Crimea to Russia. These are the territories of other countries.

Over the course of the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Kiev has repeatedly vowed to return to its control all of the territories it ended up with following the collapse of the Soviet Union. After the 2014 Maidan coup, Ukraine lost Crimea, which ended up re-unifying with Russia after a referendum.

Russia sent troops into Ukraine on February 24, citing Kiev’s failure to implement the Minsk agreements, designed to give the regions of Donetsk and Lugansk special status within the Ukrainian state. The protocols, brokered by Germany and France, were first signed in 2014. Former Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko has since admitted that Kiev’s main goal was to use the ceasefire to buy time and “create powerful armed forces.”

In February 2022, the Kremlin recognized the Donbass republics as independent states and demanded that Ukraine officially declare itself a neutral country that will never join any Western military bloc. Kiev insists the Russian offensive was completely unprovoked.

US Army fights losing battle with mold

Even as the US Army juggles growing security risks around the world, it’s reportedly struggling to eradicate a persistent foe that could jeopardize the health of troops at some of America’s largest military bases: mold.

Weeks after mold infestations in more than a dozen barracks forced the Army to relocate about 1,100 soldiers at its biggest base, North Carolina’s Fort Bragg, a viral TikTok video has exposed similar issues at Fort Stewart in Georgia. As the website Military.com reported on Friday, a pattern of mold damage has emerged “across the Army,” and there’s no easy solution. At Fort Stewart, the outlet said, “Army officials have no plans other than wait a decade for new facilities.”

In one case highlighted by Military.com reporter Steve Beynon, who interviewed more than 20 soldiers, an enlisted man who recently returned to Fort Stewart after a long deployment in Europe came home to discover that “mold had completely consumed his room.” The walls were covered with mold, the bed had turned black and green, and most of the soldier’s belongings were destroyed.

A clip posted earlier this week on a popular TikTok account called ‘US Army WTF! Moments’ showed someone opening two closet doors to reveal walls that were apparently covered with black mold. The video was captioned ‘Fort Stewart barracks’.

One commenter claimed that there was a “six-inch mold carpet” on the ceiling when he was stationed at Fort Stewart years ago. Others said they had experienced similar or worse infestations at other US bases, such as Fort Gordon in Georgia and Camp Pendleton in California. “But our government is sending money, lots of it, to Ukraine when our military can’t get a safe place to sleep,” another observer said.

Leaders at Fort Stewart and the adjoining Hunter Army Airfield have blamed the mold issue on outdated HVAC systems and high humidity. They responded to the latest infestations by ordering more room inspections and cleanup work by the troops and their enlisted supervisors. The affected barracks are scheduled to be renovated by the end of 2033.

“We’ve got to be held accountable,” Sergeant Major Quentin Fenderson, the senior enlisted leader for the 3rd Infantry Division, told Fort Stewart’s top noncommissioned officers. “We’re going to identify what we need to do, we’re going to fix it, and we’re going to move forward. I’m going to walk through your barracks. I need you to do your jobs; I’m going to do mine.”

Most of the 7,000 troops whom President Joe Biden sent to Germany earlier this year in response to the Russia-Ukraine crisis came from Fort Stewart.

France trains Ukrainian troops in secret – Politico

The outlet cited an anonymous defense official as saying Paris is taking a “discreet” approach to supporting the country

France is providing Ukrainian service members with “specialized” training in a clandestine program, Politico reported on Friday, citing sources.

According to an unnamed adviser to the French defense minister, unlike the UK, France has decided against conducting massive training exercises with Ukrainian troops. Officially, since the start of the Russian military operation in late February, it has prepared a total of 40 Ukrainian soldiers, focusing on how to operate French CAESAR self-propelled howitzers.

Unofficially, however, the adviser hinted that Ukrainians may be receiving more in-depth instruction on French soil. “The UK has chosen to forge ahead with basic training. We are doing more specialized training,” he told Politico. “We are not going to tell you everything that we do.”

The outlet’s source also indicated that Paris has embarked on a more “discreet” strategy to support Kiev. As an example, he cited recent talks between French President Emmanuel Macron and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, during which the two leaders agreed to send a mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to inspect the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant. The facility was repeatedly shelled by Kiev’s forces, Moscow said.

According to retired French Colonel Michel Goya, Paris’ current stance on military training is a “political” choice. He told Politico that France could have trained Ukrainians the way the British do. “We could have welcomed Ukrainians in camps across France and turned them into soldiers. We’ve done this before with African soldiers,” he said.

Retired French General Jerome Pellistrandi, however, disagreed, telling Politico that French forces are now generally unable to support large-scale training programs at home due to their overseas deployments in Africa and the Middle East.

A number of Western countries, including the UK, Poland, and Germany, have been providing training for Ukrainian troops. Britain has been especially active in this regard. Since June, around 5,000 Ukrainian personnel have reportedly undergone training on British soil.

According to a Sky News report in early September, the UK military decided to extend the combat courses for Ukrainians from three to five weeks to potentially provide Kiev with tens of thousands of fresh troops to take part in the fighting.
