Human remains found at NYC construction site in 2020 ID’d as missing woman Stevie Bates

September 16, 2022

Skeletal remains that were discovered at a Queens construction site nearly two years ago have been identified as those of a woman who’s been missing for a decade, police said Friday.

The remains of Stevie Bates, a 28-year-old woman, were found wrapped in a blanket during an excavation at 80-97 Cypress Avenue in Glendale on Sept. 18, 2020.

The excavation site is right across the street from Mt. Judah Cemetery and not far from at least seven more graveyards.

Bates, an Occupy Wall Street protester, was first reported missing in April 2012 after she vanished during a cross-country trip when she was 19.

On April 27 of that year, she borrowed a cellphone to call her mother, Vivian, while on a Greyhound bus layover in Pittsburgh.

Bates told her mother, from Yonkers, that she would be arriving in New York City around 5:40 a.m. the next morning.

Weather was decent here, a little dry

Anon had not known Okra could grow to 8-9' tall. It's impressive, might plant it all around the perimeter for a privacy screen next year.

Maybe branch off into weed…

>semites

Like Sargon, of Akkad? Akkadian was a semitic language. They're ALL semitic with the exception of Sumerian, a language isolate.

"Language and script used in records

Sargon appears to have promoted the use of Semitic (Akkadian) in inscriptions. He frequently calls himself "king of Akkad" first, after he apparently founded the city of Akkad. He appears to have taken over the rule of Kish at some point, and later also much of Mesopotamia, referring to himself as "Sargon, king of Akkad, overseer of Inanna, king of Kish, anointed of Anu, king of the land [Mesopotamia], governor (ensi) of Enlil".

"During Sargon's reign, East Semitic was standardized and adapted for use with the cuneiform script previously used in the Sumerian language into what is now known as the "Akkadian language". A style of calligraphy developed in which text on clay tablets and cylinder seals was arranged amidst scenes of mythology and ritual"

sauce: wiki for speed, this data is out there all over and in far better sources.

Semite does not equal the equivalence used, speaking of mislabeling… Palestinians are semites- uncomfortable truth, the current "semites" may not be actual semites.

Marigolds are a good sacrificial plant (so I heard)

Didn't help the Kentucky Wonder pole beans, the Jap beetles went crazy. Tiny cool looking and voracious.

Let the neighbor use the garden last year. Squash exited the garden and planted it's vine all the way across the yard. Anon didn't know what to do, cut them off or let them go? They weren't mine… turns out the neighbor didn't plant squash, they were the year before's volunteer squash. Anon had no clue what to do with a squash unless it's the small yellow crook necks or zucchini. Then you grill em. There was a weird one, must have been an heirloom volunteer. There was butternut, def didn't plant that or forgot..then the usual recognizable types. It's an enduring mystery.

I planted more beans and the Okra made a great trellis.

UK Prime Minister Liz Truss cancels pre-funeral meeting with Joe Biden

September 17, 2022

Britain’s new prime minister, Liz Truss, has pulled the plug on her planned face-to-face meeting with President Joe Biden this weekend — while keeping appointments with several other heads of state ahead of Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral on Monday.

No reason was given for the apparent snub of the US president, which was announced by Truss’s office Saturday.

Instead, Truss will hold a bilateral meeting with Biden in New York on Sept. 21, when both are set to attend the United Nations General Assembly.

Her pre-funeral confabs with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and Polish President Andrzej Duda are proceeding as planned, according to Politico.

Truss, who took over from Boris Johnson as Britain’s prime minister just days before the Queen’s demise, is using the series of “low-key” meetings during the funeral weekend to establish herself in her new role, the Times of London reported.

Biden was aboard Air Force One on his way to London when the change in plans was announced.

Manhattan immigrant has been voting illegally for 13 years: BOE

September 17, 2022

A non-citizen green card-holder in Manhattan may have been illegally voting in city elections for the past 13 years — possibly one of “thousands” of similarly bogus voters, a city Board of Elections whistleblower told The Post.

Abdul Rahman Kargbo, 63, first registered to vote in November 2005. according to records from the New York City Board of Elections. He enrolled in the Democratic Party and voted in nine general and primary elections between 2008 and 2021, the records show.

A copy of Kargbo’s original voter registration form obtained by The Post shows he clearly and honestly marked that he was not a US citizen, yet the clueless agency registered him anyway.

“Just incompetence,” said the city Board of Elections staffer who pulled Kargbo’s voter files for The Post, adding that he’s “seen it before.” Reps for the city Board of Elections told The Post that responsibility for verifying voter information fell to the state Board of Elections.

But the state Board of Elections shrugged off the mistake, instead blaming the lack of vetting laws.

“There were no procedures in state Election Law in 2005 to verify citizenship and that remains true today. We have no way to verify citizenship status. There is no publicly accessible database from the federal government for states to verify the citizenship of voters,” said John Conklin, a spokesman for the state Board of Elections.

Anon struck out at Kimberly-Clark but found ingredients at P&G, they don't flash it on the front page. Can't find a pic of one with that same strip. Can't be P&G, cause they care…

Kimberly-Clark is not very forthcoming about ingredients. "On the rag" may well be exactly that, for safety. IF this isn't F&G

>A 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck

A 7.2-magnitude earthquake struck Taiwan's southeastern coast on Sunday, the US Geological Survey said, prompting Japan to issue a tsunami warning.

The quake hit at 2:44 pm (0644 GMT) about 50 kilometres (30 miles) north of the city of Taitung at a depth of 10 kilometres, the USGS said.

A 6.6 magnitude quake hit the same region on Saturday and there have been multiple tremors since with Sunday's the strongest by far.

Japan's Meteorological Agency issued a tsunami advisory to remote islands near Taiwan.

Waves as high as one metre were expected to arrive around 4 pm (0700 GMT), it added.

Taiwan is regularly hit by earthquakes as the island lies near the junction of two tectonic plates.

The New York Times is on a ‘jihad’ against the UK and Queen Elizabeth

September 15, 2022

Remember when people used to call the New York Times “the paper of record”? How that has changed. Today the paper doesn’t inform its readers — it preaches to them. And it lies to them.

That is what they have done in recent years about my own country of birth — Great Britain. The cause seems to be that in 2016 the British public failed to take the advice of the NYT and had the cheek to vote for Brexit. Since then the paper has carried out a jihad against Britain. For six years they have been running hit-jobs on the country.

They have pretended that the British public still subsist on mutton and gruel. They have claimed that the country is a poverty-stricken wasteland. And week after week they have, inevitably, accused Britain of being “racist.” Now, with the death of the Queen, the paper has stooped yet lower. It didn’t wait even a few hours to run its first hit-piece on the 96-year old monarch. Since last week’s news there has been a daily diet of malcontents attacking the Queen for the Empire, colonialism and even slavery.

Now the paper is moaning about the cost of the Queen’s “elaborate” funeral and complaining that this is happening at a time of “soaring energy prices and high inflation.” Funnily enough the British people don’t at all mind paying for a state funeral for a much-loved monarch who headed a massively popular and respected institution.

By comparison I can’t imagine who would even bother attending the ceremony if the old Gray Lady passed on.
