So there was an unresolved issue at play here:
1) I simply find it hard to believe that our missile systems could have been compromised. You'd have to not only comp the systems but the entire sub command staff to do a launch. presumably, not that Im an expert but there are manual processes that must occur.
So where I've ended up with the most likley scenario is the HI incident in reverse. A comped sub from another nation sailed into the location of our sub base, launched from a known Boomer location for US to make it apear that we launched.
The critical thinking is, you need to understand down stupid DS is. If we were going to launch an attack I double we would fire it from our own known Sub Waters.
Think on that one.
