Russia’s Defense Ministry has provided signatories to Convention on the Prohibition of Biological and Toxin Weapons (BTWC) with evidence that the US’ military-biological programs were implemented in Ukraine, Head of Russia’s Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection Forces Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov told reporters on Monday.

The meeting of BTWC signatories was held at Moscow’s initiative in Geneva from September 5 to 9, he noted. "The participants of the meeting were provided with copies of real documents, as well as physical evidence confirming that works on military-biological programs [of the US] were implemented on Ukrainian territory," Kirillov said.

At a meeting of the signatories to Convention on the Prohibition of Biological and Toxin Weapons (BTWC) in Geneva the United States has confessed that samples of pathogenic strains and biomaterials of local people were evacuated from Ukraine, the head Russia’s radiation, chemical and biological protection force, Lieutenant-General Igor Kirillov, told a news briefing on Monday.

"US and Ukrainian explanations regarding the evacuation of strains and biomaterials of Ukrainians and the observance of ethical standards in conducting research on military personnel, low-income citizens, as well as on one of the most vulnerable categories of the population - patients in psychiatric hospitals - looked extremely unconvincing," he said.

According to Kirillov, when discussing this issue the US delegation confessed to the hard facts, "while claiming that the transfer of samples of pathogenic biomaterials to the United States was not frequent".

On September 5-9 the signatories to the Convention on the Prohibition of Biological and Toxin Weapons met in conference in Geneva in connection with the US and Ukraine’s violations of articles 1 and 4 of the Convention. The meeting was initiated by Russia. According to Kirillov, none of the delegations had any doubts regarding the authenticity of the documents presented by Russia, including those proving the accumulation of pathogenic materials in Ukrainian laboratories.

Ukraine failed to explain the reasons for the emergency destruction of documentary evidence on joint military and biological activities with the US, Chief of Russian Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection Force Igor Kirillov said at a briefing on Monday, assessing the results of the meeting in Geneva of the states parties to the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention (BWC).

"When asked questions about the reasons for the emergency destruction of documentary evidence of military-biological activity, [the Ukrainian delegration] did not comment anything. At the same time, the Ukrainian delegation said, quote, ‘This is not a trial, and we are not in cross-examination’," Kirillov said.

A meeting of the signatories to the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention was held in Geneva from September 5 to 9 in connection with the US and Ukraine's violation of Articles I and IV of the Convention. The meeting was initiated by Russia.

"The participants of the meeting were given for consideration copies of actual documents previously announced by the Russian Defense Ministry, as well as physical evidence confirming the work of military and biological programs on the territory of Ukraine," Kirillov said. KHERSON, September 18. /TASS/. Thirty-four rockets fired by Ukrainian troops have been intercepted by Russian air defense forces over Novaya Kakhovka, the city’s military-civilian administration said on Sunday.

"According to our estimates, Ukrainian fascists have fired 34 rockets at Novaya Kakhovka since noon on September 18. All of them were downed by our air defense systems," it wrote on its Telegram channel.

According to the administration, no damages were reported.

Ukrainian troops have been shelling several cities in the Kherson region since August 28, destroying schools, social infrastructure and damaging residential houses. As a result of Ukraine’s strike at central Kherson on Friday, three people were killed and 13 more were wounded. Later, one more wounded woman died in hospital.

"We have repeatedly spoken about the true nature of the military biological programs of the Pentagon, implemented outside its national territory. While the stated goals are to monitor infectious diseases and provide assistance to developing countries, in reality we see the build-up of the US military biological potential bypassing obligations under the BTWC," he said.

Russia Presents Evidence of US Ukraine-Based Military-Biological Activity to Geneva Convention

Moscow earlier presented evidence that the Russian military found in Ukrainian bio laboratories seized during the special military operation in the neighboring country. The documents suggested that these labs, funded by Washington, were working on dangerous pathogens.

The Russian Defense Ministry has presented evidence of US military-biological activity in Ukraine to member states of the Biological Weapons Convention in Geneva, head of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defense of the Russian Armed Forces, Lt. Gen. Igor Kirillov, said.

The ministry's representative said that member states' delegations did not question the authenticity of the documents they were presented as proof of the US' and Ukraine's violation of articles I and IV of the Convention.

"The participants of the meeting received copies of real documents previously mentioned by the Ministry of Defense of Russia, as well as material evidence confirming the implementation of work on military-biological programs in Ukraine, for consideration," Kirillov said.

The head of the RCBD of the Russian Armed Forces further pointed out that the US and Ukraine failed to present convincing evidence to the Convention's members that would prove that the Pentagon's cooperation with the Ukrainian laboratories benefited the epidemiological situation in the country. Kirillov said that the US Department of Defense only came up with a few photos of renovated laboratories, while the said epidemiological situation in Ukraine has been deteriorating for the past 15 years.

The Russian Defense Ministry's representative further stated that the US admitted the fact that Ukraine exported biological pathogens and materials, as well as engaging in ethically questionable experiments – namely on the military and socially vulnerable groups of the Ukrainian population such as psychiatric ward patients. Kirillov slammed the US attempts to tone down the problem by using claims that it did not occur "often".

Russia raised 20 questions regarding the illegal activities of Kiev and Washington that violate the provisions of the Convention with the BWC member states, Kirillov said. Among them are questions regarding the choice of pathogens for studies, which often included ones that have never been discovered in Ukraine.

The ministry's representative also reiterated Russia's previous statements regarding Ukraine seeking to procure drones from Turkey fit to disperse aerosols. The Turkish defense company refused to deliver the UAVs, which could have been used to spread harmful and potentially deadly pathogens.
