Mobilization: He announced a partial mobilization in Russia as his full-scale invasion against Ukraine approaches the seven month mark. Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu later said 300,000 Russian citizens will be called up to fight in Ukraine. Putin said partial mobilization is due to start Wednesday.

Seizing the Donbas: Russia's goal remains to seize Ukraine's eastern Donbas region in its entirety, Putin said, adding he was certain the decision to carry out what he calls a "special military operation" was the only option.

Nuclear Threats: The Russian leader said that he was willing to respond to what he described as the West's "nuclear blackmail" using his country's own weapons. "If Russia feels its territorial integrity is threatened, we will use all defense methods at our disposal, and this is not a bluff," Putin said.

So-called Referendums: Putin said he supports referendums in the occupied Donbass region, east Ukraine, in Kherson and Zaporozhy, south Ukraine, saying "we will do our best to ensure safe conditions … to enable people to express their will."

To everybody’s surprise, she discovered that 42 of 43 US presidents trace back to a single person: John Lackland Plantagenet, King of England (r. 1199-1216).

If you are familiar with the theories about the Illuminati, or the ruling elite families that govern the world, it may not come to a big surprise to find that ALL United States presidents (with the exception of one), including the Bushes, Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter and even Barack Obama, happen to be cousins and that all of them are descendants of King John of England.

The only president BridgeAnne couldn’t connect in the lineage was Martin Van Buren, the 8th president of the United States. As for the others, this means that they are not only descendants of King John of England, but also distant cousins of Elizabeth, the Queen of England and the British Royal family.

King John Plantaganet was king of England from 1199 to 1216. He was most famous for signing the Magna Carta in 1215, and for losing the Duchy of Normandy to King Philip II of France, thus receiving his nickname Lackland. He was also depicted as the villain in the Robin Hood tales.

Salman Rushdie recovering from ‘life changing’ injuries after he was stabbed on stage. Here’s what we know

Famed author Salman Rushdie is recovering at a hospital after he was repeatedly stabbed on stage Friday in front of a New York audience in an attack that left him with severe injuries, his family said.

Rushdie was taken off a ventilator over the weekend but was still being treated for injuries including three stab wounds to his neck, four stab wounds to his stomach, puncture wounds to his right eye and chest, and a laceration on his right thigh, Chautauqua County District Attorney Jason Schmidt said Saturday, adding the author may lose his right eye.

The suspect, identified as 24-year-old Hadi Matar, of Fairview, New Jersey, was arrested by a state trooper after the attack and taken into custody.

Rushdie’s writings have won him literary prizes – and much scrutiny. His fourth novel, “The Satanic Verses,” drew condemnation from some Muslims who found it to be sacrilegious. The late Iranian leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, who described the book as an insult to Islam and Prophet Mohammed, issued a religious decree, or fatwa, calling for Rushdie’s death in 1989.

Iran, in its first official reaction to Friday’s attack, Iran blamed Rushdie and “his supporters.”

Judge Won’t Issue ‘Global Protection Order’ For Witnesses In Chautauqua Stabbing

Although some names may be withheld from the New Jersey resident accused of stabbing famed author Salman Rushdie a month ago, it’s unlikely all the names will be withheld.

On Friday, Hadi Matar was back in Chautauqua County Court. District Attorney Jason Schmidt had previously requested a protection order be in place for witnesses in the trial for Matar. That order would prevent Matar knowing the names of the individuals who will be testifying until just before the trial commences.

“I’m not going to enter a global protective order, saying every witness in the world that’s potentially going to be called in this case isn’t going to be disclosed to Mr. Matar. I don’t think that’s appropriate,” he said.

Earlier in the week, Schmidt said he is concerned about the fatwa that was issued in 1989 and the $3 million bounty on Rushdie’s life, saying that the bounty has not been lifted and could still be used by criminals who want to protect Matar.
