My family lived those numbers for over five years. The first 2 years Dad was missing in action. After that, we found out he was alive and captured. Then we had to learn how to handle that he was as alive and being tortured. Mom tried to keep us from seeing the news but it was unavoidable. My father was released after five years with the other POW's. We were blessed, my father came back when so many didn't.
My Sis and I have about 7 or 8 bracelets that people sent us with dads name that they had worn until he came home. Just enough for his grand kids and great grand kids !
