>Can microwave ovens double as faraday cages?
My experiment just now:
Called my iPhone 11 (not in microwave) from my Google Voice line as a baseline. Phone rang.
I placed my iPhone 11 in kitchen microwave (plugged in).
Called twice, straight to voicemail, phone did not light up or ring inside microwave.
Unplugged microwave, called twice, same results… iPhone unresponsive.
Did a "Find My iPhone" search via Apple ID (geolocates my iPhone and MacBook Pro—have used it many times and it's disturbingly accurate) which would look for it via cellular towers AND my home WiFi. Shows as "Offline"
My personal circumstantial/anecdotal evidence is promising that a microwave serves (to some degree at least) as a faraday cage.
And yes, I doxxed my first name… privacy isn't a thing, esp not if I've elected to own an iPhone.
