The mysterious hacker purporting to be behind the Optus data breach has suddenly apologised for the cyber-attack - after releasing the details of some 10,000 customers.

In a bizarre post on Tuesday morning, 'optushacker' claimed there were 'too many eyes' on them and said they would not sell or leak the hacked data of up to 10 million Australians.

In broken English, optushacker said: 'Deepest apology to Optus for this. Hope all goes well from this'.

The hacker also claimed they would've told the telco about their vulnerability but there was no way of getting in touch with them.

'Optus if your (sic) reading we would have reported exploit if you had method to contact,' the apology continued.

'No security mail, no bug bountys, no way too message. Ransom not paid but we don't care any more.'

The extraordinary backflip comes hours after the cybercriminal threatened to release another 10,000 records every day for the next four days if a $1.5million ransom was not paid.

The customer records the hacker has released so far included passport, drivers licence and Medicare numbers, as well as dates of birth and home addresses.

“Israel represents the only fully-fledged democracy in the broader Middle East, and we defend without any reservations its right to exist and live in security. I believe that the existence of the State of Israel is vital, and Fratelli d’Italia will make every effort to invest in greater cooperation between our countries,” she said.

Michigan Man Pleads Guilty to Killing College Student He Met on Dating App, Eating His Testicles

A Michigan man last Thursday pleaded guilty to mutilation of a body and open murder after killing a college student he met on dating app Grindr and eating parts of the deceased body.

David Latunski, 53, killed Kevin Bacon, a 25-year-old University of Michigan-Flint student and hairdresser in December of 2019.

According to MLive, Latunski lured Bacon to his home, stabbed him in the back and took his body parts to his kitchen where he consumed them.

The cannibal also told police he cut off Bacon’s testicles and ate them.

Police found Bacon’s mutilated corpse hanging from the ceiling in Latunski’s basement, MLive reported.

“Kevin was a good kid, and he didn’t deserve what he got,” Bacon’s father Karl told WNEM.

“We won’t have to go through a lengthy trial,” said Karl. “Seeing Kevin’s pictures again in court, maybe we won’t have to go through all that.”

Mark David Latunski, the Shiawassee County man accused of killing and dismembering 25-year-old Kevin Bacon in December 2019, has pleaded guilty.

Latunski, 52, appeared before Judge Matthew J. Stewart of the 35th Circuit Court Thursday, Sept. 22, and pleaded guilty as charged to open murder and mutilation of a body.

Open murder contains both first- and second-degree murder.

A degree hearing will be held on Oct. 18 to determine whether Latunski is convicted of first- or second-degree murder, or manslaughter.

Latunski was originally charged with open murder and mutilation of a body in December 2019, days after Bacon’s mutilated body was discovered inside the basement of Latunski’s Bennington Township home.

Bacon, of Swartz Creek, was stabbed, his body hung from his ankles, his throat cut, and parts of him were eaten, according to prior reporting by MLive, which cited police who searched Latunski’s home. His body was found on Dec. 28, 2019.
