New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is the latest liberal leader to call for an international alliance to censor speech. Unsatisfied with the unprecedented corporate censorship of social media companies, leaders like Hillary Clinton have turned from private censorship to good old-fashioned state censorship. Speech regulation has become an article of faith on the left. Ardern used her speech this week to the United Nations General Assembly to call for censorship on a global scale.

Ardern lashed out at “disinformation” and called for a global coalition to control speech. After nodding toward free speech, she proceeded to lay out a plan for its demise through government regulation:

But what if that lie, told repeatedly, and across many platforms, prompts, inspires, or motivates others to take up arms. To threaten the security of others. To turn a blind eye to atrocities, or worse, to become complicit in them. What then?

This is no longer a hypothetical. The weapons of war have changed, they are upon us and require the same level of action and activity that we put into the weapons of old.

We recognized the threats that the old weapons created. We came together as communities to minimize these threats. We created international rules, norms and expectations. We never saw that as a threat to our individual liberties – rather, it was a preservation of them. The same must apply now as we take on these new challenges.

Ardern noted how extremists use speech to spread lies without noting that non-extremists use the same free speech to counter such views. To answer her question on “how do you tackle climate change if people do not believe it exists” is that you convince people using the same free speech. Instead, Ardern appears to want to silence those who have doubts.

While referring to a global censorship coalition as a “light-touch approach to disinformation,” Ardern revealed how sweeping such a system would likely be. She defended the need for such global censorship on having to combat those who question climate change and the need to stop “hateful and dangerous rhetoric and ideology.”

“After all, how do you successfully end a war if people are led to believe the reason for its existence is not only legal but noble? How do you tackle climate change if people do not believe it exists? How do you ensure the human rights of others are upheld, when they are subjected to hateful and dangerous rhetoric and ideology?”

That is the same rationale used by authoritarian countries like China, Iran, and Russia to censor dissidents, minority groups, and political rivals. What is “hateful” and “dangerous” is a fluid concept that government have historically used to silence critics or dissenters.

Ardern is the smiling face of the new generation of censors. At least the old generation of censors like the Iranians do not pretend to support free speech and openly admit that they are crushing dissent. The point is that we need to be equally on guard when censorship is pushed from the left with the best of motivations and the worst of means.

As the great civil libertarian Justice Louis Brandeis once said, “the greatest dangers to liberty lurk in insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well-meaning but without understanding.”

Ukraine Confirms Receipt Of Longer-Range Missiles It's Long Sought From US

Despite this past week which has seen US officials echo growing concerns over Moscow's ratcheting nuclear rhetoric - which Ukraine too has said it is taking seriously - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is now boasting his country has received a new, advanced US missile system.

He confirmed in a fresh interview with CBS’s "Face the Nation" that the National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems (NASAMS) has been long sought after by Kyiv, but previously in the war repeatedly denied:

Zelensky thanked the U.S. for the system as well as the High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems it’s received, but added that his troops "absolutely need the United States to show leadership and give Ukraine" additional air defense systems it has requested.

Ukraine began urgently asking for transfer of the NASAMS by early summer, but the Biden administration as reluctant to provide missile systems with longer range, concerned they would be used to strike inside Russian territory and thus drag Washington and Moscow into direct cofronation.

According to a CNN report in June, "Ukrainian officials have asked for the missile defense system, known as a NASAMS system, given the weapons can hit targets more than 100 miles away, though the Ukrainian forces will likely need to be trained on the systems, a source said."

But that's apparently no longer enough of a concern to halt these longer range systems, despite the Kremlin repeatedly warning that attacks on its territory with foreign weapons are a severe red line.

According to The Hill:

The Biden administration approved the shipment of six of the missile systems late last month as part of a nearly $3 billion lethal aid package to bolster Kyiv as it battles the Kremlin invasion.

The NASAMS are considered "medium-range" systems, but are considered an improvement over prior missiles sent to Ukraine, which typically had a max range of 30 to 50 miles. The NASAMS are capable of defending against aircraft, cruise missiles, as well as drones and were designed by the US and Norway.

But Zelensky in the CBS interview didn't waist time asking for more, as has been typical, saying that amid his forces achieving success in the ongoing eastern counteroffensive they urgently need more tanks, artillery, and more missiles.

‘National Security Nightmare’: GOP Rep Says Hunter Biden Had ‘Eric Swalwell Situation’

Republican Rep. James Comer of Kentucky called new revelations about Hunter Biden a “national security nightmare” during a Monday evening Fox News appearance.

“Have you ever wanted to see a spy movie? You don’t even have to go to the theaters. Go to Washington, D.C., where Chinese spies just bait and hook gullible people in power. Sometimes all it takes is a honey trap. We saw it with Eric Swalwell who got caught sleeping with Fang Fang, the spy who stole his heart,” Fox News host Jesse Watters said in introducing Comer, the ranking Republican on the House Oversight Committee. “Swalwell wasn’t the only person to have a Fang Fang in D.C. Turns out Hunter Biden may have dabbled with a Chinese spy, too. Her name is JiaQi Bao.”

Watters described reports from a whistleblower that Hunter Biden sought to sell natural gas to China in 2017, with Bao reportedly telling him where the Chinese wanted to purchase the gas from.

Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado ripped Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell of California in 2021 over his reported relationship with Christine Fang, who allegedly was a spy for China and suddenly left the country in 2015.

“Nothing sounds good here. And we have confirmed a lot of what it looks like in the email with one whistleblower who is a former Hunter Biden associate,” Comer told Watters. “And Hunter was trying to negotiate a deal to sell the Chinese natural gas, but what we also learned from the whistleblower was that their ultimate goal, this Chinese company, was to buy an interest in the drillers so they could start getting their foot in the door to start taking over the infrastructure of the American energy industry. So, this is a national security concern.”

“Not only do we have proof that Hunter Biden was directly involved from it, the emails and text messages also show that Hunter was asking for office space and he needed extra keys for both Joe and Jill Biden,” Comer continued. “So this links the president to Hunter Biden’s shady business deal with China. This is just a national security nightmare and it kind of puts into perspective maybe why Joe Biden has made some terrible decisions that have been at the best interest of China at the expense of the American consumer.”

The White House and Swalwell did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Formal IRS Complaint Filed Against Good Information Foundation After Whistleblower Claims Election Activity

Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow announced Monday that he filed a formal Internal Revenue Service (IRS) complaint against the George Soros-backed Good Information Foundation for allegedly attempting to tamper with the 2022 midterm elections.

Marlow made the announcement during an appearance on the Charlie Kirk Show, stating that the tax-exempt organization appears to be participating in activities that violate federal law prohibiting 501(c)(3) organizations from “directly or indirectly participating in, or intervening in, any political campaign.” Kirk called the official complaint a potential “marker in the sand” because the onus rests with the IRS now that the agency has been officially notified.

“So earlier today, I filed a complaint, yes as a journalist but also as an American individual who thinks that this is clear corruption, and I don’t trust the government to look into it unless someone like me reaches out,” Marlow said.

Marlow filed the complaint less than a week after attorney and legal commentator Preston Moore posted a video saying he was offered, and rejected, $400 by the “Good Information Foundation” to make a video attacking Donald Trump and “Trump Republicans.” The foundation allegedly wanted Moore to create the video about January 6 and post it on his social media platforms to reach the widest possible audience.

“It became really clear that … they wanted me to use the most graphic images possible,” Moore told Breitbart News. “They wanted me to use fear to manipulate people into voting blue, or into voting not Trump. … And when they’re giving examples of the things they wanted me to say — don’t say ‘Trump and his allies,’ say ‘Trump Republicans’ — it became really clear that this was about putting out information … to impact midterms.”

Marlow said if what Moore said is true, “we are seeing flagrant violations of 501(c)(3) rules that forbid people from participating in politics, both directly or indirectly. And you would think that in an era where we are talking about adding 87,000 new IRS agents, this would be front and center for the IRS.”

As Breitbart News previously reported, the Good Information Foundation’s website states that it is the 501(c)(3) nonprofit arm of Good Information Inc., “a public benefit corporation committed to restoring social trust and strengthening democracy by investing in solutions that counter disinformation and increase the flow of good information online.” Good Information Inc., which is backed by billionaires Reid Hoffman, George Soros, and others was established in 2021 to fund media companies and “efforts that tackle disinformation,” Axios reported in October 2021.

The organization’s 501(c)(3) status is especially notable because the designation is typically reserved for organizations that serve a noble public interest, such as public education and charitable work. A 501(c)(3) designation allows these organizations to forgo paying taxes on revenue and allows donors to write off donations.

Breitbart News previously asked the IRS if the Good Information Foundation’s alleged activities put the organization in violation of 501(c)(3) rules. The IRS said it could not comment on the legality of an organization’s actions without an official audit and pointed to the aforementioned federal statute.

The New Hampshire Attorney General’s office has issued a ‘cease and desist' order to the state’s Democratic Party over political mailers, claiming they contain misleading information about voting by mail.

In a letter to the Democratic Party's legal counsel, Attorney General John Formella said the mailers urging voters to request absentee ballot applications for the midterm elections provided the wrong addresses for city and town clerks and other errors that are "causing voter confusion and frustration" for voters.

He ordered the party to immediately stop sending out "inaccurate information" to voters and reach out to the more than 900 voters in 39 cities and towns who received the incorrect mailers to clarify any errors and explain what they need to do to obtain an absentee ballot.

"The return mail addresses on the mailer are likely to mislead voters into intentionally violating (state law)," Formella wrote. "It could also disenfranchise some voters in that voters may complete absentee ballot applications believing that they will receive ballots for the general election, only to discover that their applications were never delivered to their town or city clerks."

Formella said some voters who received the mailers were told that they "have a history of requesting absentee ballots" when they hadn't voted by mail in the past.

Other mailers with ballot applications were sent to incorrect addresses or with self addressed envelopes to return the ballot requests to a non-existent county board of elections, he said.

He gave the party until Sept. 27 to submit a written plan to the AG's office explaining how it will comply with the cease and desist order.

New Hampshire allows voters to cast absentee ballots ahead of state elections by mail if they will be absent from the town or city they live in on Election Day or are unable to show up to the polls because of a disability, illness, job or religious observance.

The mailers with incorrect return addresses appear to have been sent mostly to voters in the former Republican stronghold of Rockingham County, a middle-class suburban county which swung to Democratic Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election.

With recent polls in the Granite State showing Biden's approval rating dwindling in the low 30s, Republicans are eyeing the state’s three up-for-grabs congressional seats – two House and one Senate – which are all currently held by Democrats.

The marquee race pits far-right conservative Republican Don Bolduc against incumbent Democratic Sen. Maggie Hassan in a contest that could help decide control of the U.S. Senate with Democrats currently holding a 50-50 split but with Vice President Kamala Harris having the tie-breaking vote.

National Republican and Democratic groups have poured tens of millions of dollars into the race and more spending is expected ahead of the general election.

Obama Claims Racism to Suppress American Opposition to Biden’s Deadly Migration

Americans oppose President Joe Biden’s lawless and wage-cutting mass migration because they are racist, not because of their economic worries, according to former President Barack Obama.

“Right now, the biggest fuel behind the Republican agenda is related to immigration and the fear that somehow America’s character is going to be changed if, people of darker shades, there are too many of them here,” Obama told a meeting of Hispanic realtors on September 25 in San Diego, California.

Obama used his divide-and-rule claims of racism to hide the public opposition to migration’s economic impact, according to his comments posted in a September 25 report by the San Diego Union-Tribune:

I wish I could be more euphemistic about it except [they’re] not that subtle about it — they’re just kind of saying it,” Obama said. “You hear it on hard-right media, you hear it from candidates and politicians, you hear things like ‘great replacement theory’ — I mean, this is not subtle. Unless we’re able to return to a more inclusive vision inside the Republican Party, it’s going to be hard to get a bill done.

Obama also argued that public opposition to mass migration is more dangerous than government support for the nation-changing migration that has killed thousands of migrants and many more Americans:

When you have that kind of rhetoric floating around out there, we’ve seen in history that is dangerous rhetoric. It’s dangerous wherever it appears and it’s dangerous here in the United States.

They have also pulled more than 2 million legal immigrants, visa workers, and white-collar illegals via airports. That massive government-engineered migration has delivered at least one migrant for every two births since January 2021.

In 2013 and 2014, Obama and Biden used claims of racism to stigmatize Americans’ popular opposition to mass migration as they were trying to push the doomed “Gang of Eight” cheap-labor bill through Congress.

But that incendiary smear is contradicted by numerous polls which show the public wants to welcome some immigration — but also declares deep and broad public opposition to labor migration and the inflow of temporary contract workers into the good jobs U.S. graduates need to raise families.

This “Third Rail” opposition is growing, anti-establishment, multiracial, cross-sex, non-racist, class-based, bipartisan, rational, persistent, and recognizes the solidarity that American citizens owe to one another.

For example, almost half of Hispanics, blacks, and Asians believe Biden’s global invite has created an “invasion” of migrants, says a July poll by Ipsos. The “invasion” view is mainstream: 58 percent of white Americans — and 40 percent of Democrats — say Biden’s global invite is an invasion, according to data released on August 19 by Ipsos.

The public’s opposition to mass migration is rational because migration imposes vast economic and civic burdens on ordinary Americans while it boosts wealthy and powerful Americans.

Russian Security Services Detain 2 Ukrainian Saboteurs Preparing Terrorist Acts

KHERSON (Sputnik) - Russian security services detained, in the village of Chernobayevka, Kherson Region, two members of a reconnaissance and sabotage group, who, on orders from Ukrainian military intelligence, collected information about Russian troops, and also participated in preparation for terrorist attacks in Kherson for small amounts of money, a Russian security officer told Sputnik.

"Svaroba Alexander Nikolayevich, call sign "Alex", born in 1998, and Savelyev Artyom Vasilyevich, call sign "Maloy", born in 2003, were detained," the officer said.
