Instagram Permanently Removes Pornhub

Instagram has permanently removed the official Pornhub accountafter a decade of allegedly violatingthe social media platform’s terms of service.

“We’ve permanently disabled this Instagram account for repeatedly violating our policies,” a spokesperson from Meta, Instagram’s parent company, told Motherboard.

According to Motherboard, the social media company claims it warned Pornhub about posts that violated unspecified terms of service surrounding adult content, nudity, and sexual solicitation.

The New York Post reports Pornhub violated the social media platform’s rules against sexual solicitation by telling its users to leave the site and visit a porn site, among other violations.

Meta’s decision comes after the big tech giant suspended the pornography site’s account after mounting pressure from non-profit groups like the Justice Defense Fund, which has repeatedly accusedPornhub of allegedly being complicit in the sex trafficking and rape of women and children.

Laila Mickelwait, founder and CEO of the group, praised Meta’s decision to kick the site off of Instagram for good after it lost 13 million followers.

“Now less people will be directed to watch Pornhub’s monetized child rape and sex trafficking videos,” Mickelwait said in a tweet.

Mickelwait said Pornhub allegedly has 175,000 searches for child abuse videos every month from “pedophiles [who] have known Pornhub was a good place to find it.”

What is Burisma? The Ukrainian energy firm caught between US presidential rivals

By Andrew Fawthrop 14 Oct 2020

The company was a focal point of President Donald Trump's impeachment trial over its connections to Democrat Joe Biden - and as the US election draws closer, it is in the spotlight once again

The once little-known Ukrainian natural gas firm Burisma Holdings found itself thrust into the centre of a presidential impeachment storm earlier this year, over its ties to the son of former US vice-president Joe Biden.

The company’s name surfaced repeatedly throughout investigations into President Donald Trump’s conduct in office, amid allegations he attempted to coerce leaders in Ukraine into digging dirt on a potential rival in the upcoming US election.

Trump was ultimately acquitted of his impeachment charges, which comprised allegations of an abuse of power and the obstruction of Congress.

But with former vice-president Biden now battling Trump in the upcoming election, and a bitter campaign trail entering its final weeks, Burisma is once again in the spotlight.

Why is Burisma significant?

Biden’s son Hunter joined Burisma in 2014 as a board member — around the same time his father was serving under President Obama — holding the position for five years.

Trump argues for a conflict of interests — and even alleges corruption — between Hunter Biden’s role at Burisma and his father’s political activity in the country during the Obama administration.

Biden had been tasked by Obama with overseeing US political activities in Ukraine, primarily advocating for anti-corruption reforms in the country’s energy industry.

In a now-infamous July 2019 phone call, Trump allegedly asked Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate both Bidens in return for political favours.

Critics called this an attempt to strongarm the country into discrediting a political opponent ahead of the 2020 election, with Biden considered by many at that time as the Democratic candidate most likely to challenge Trump.

Despite the impeachment acquittal, the discourse surrounding Trump, Biden and Burisma has not gone away – and amid all this furore, the energy company has skyrocketed into the public consciousness on both sides of the Atlantic.

What is Burisma Holdings?

Founded in 2002, Burisma Holdings is an oil and natural gas company owned by Ukrainian oligarch Mykola Zlochevsky.

He is a businessman who previously served in public office in the country, and one who has been the subject of fraud investigations — although never convicted.

The business — which is based in Kyiv (Kiev) but registered in Cyprus — is a holding company for several subsidiaries in the energy industry, including Esko-Pivnich, Pari, Persha Ukrainska Naftogazova Kompaniya, Naftogaz Garant, KUB-Gas and Astroinvest Ukraine.

It is one of the largest natural gas operators in Ukraine, as well as having further interests in Germany, Mexico, Italy and Kazakhstan.

According to the company, it produced 1.3 billion cubic metres (bcm) of gas in 2018, and while it does not disclose its financial results, estimates by news agency Reuters suggest this level of production could have generated revenues upwards of $400m.

The Biden connection

In 2014, Hunter Biden — who was at a loose end having been discharged from the US Navy for a positive cocaine drug test — joined the board of Burisma, earning a reported monthly salary of $50,000.

At the time, Reuters cited a statement from Hunter Biden which appeared on the Burisma website, in which he said his role would be to help the company with “transparency, corporate governance and responsibility, international expansion” along with other issues.

His appointment raised a few eyebrows in political and industry circles, given his father’s position as Obama’s right-hand man, as well as Burisma’s chequered history and accusations of fraud against its owner.

Burisma had previously been the subject of anti-corruption probes by domestic lawmakers, while its owner Zlochevsky had been investigated by the UK’s Serious Fraud Office as part of a wider inquiry into claims of money laundering in the Ukraine — although this ended in 2018 due to “insufficient evidence”.

Many commentators have suggested Burisma’s hiring of Hunter Biden — along with other high-profile board members including former Polish president Aleksander Kwaśniewski and former CIA official Cofer Black — were an attempt to deflect attention from corruption investigations and restore some reputational value to its name.

Corporate fraud in Ukraine had become a key issue for vice-president Biden towards the end of the Obama era, and he actively campaigned for reforms in the country — singling out Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin in particular as an obstacle in the fight against corruption.

Pressure from Biden, alongside other international figureheads, eventually led to Shokin’s dismissal in March 2016 for, among other things, his failure to adequately investigate Burisma over claims of money laundering and tax evasion between 2010 and 2012.

The impeachment inquiry

All these factors constellated in the July 2019 phone call between Trump and Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky, which became the focal point of the impeachment investigation and subsequent Senate trial.

A whistleblower complaint led US Democrats to launch their impeachment inquiry in September 2019, after it was alleged Trump pressured the Ukrainian leader to investigate both Joe and Hunter Biden to secure damaging information on them.

This was described during the impeachment hearings as a “quid pro quo” in return for the US providing a $400m military-aid package to support Ukraine in its conflict with neighbouring Russia.

what is burisma

In December 2019, the US House of Representatives voted to impeach President Trump (Credit: Wikimedia Commons/US House of Representatives)

It was argued that Trump was seeking to boost his chances against a political rival in the upcoming 2020 presidential elections — something that it is illegal to solicit foreign entities to do.

President Trump has himself argued the Bidens had a nefarious influence and conflict of interests in Ukraine, particularly in regards to the removal of Shokin from office.

The 2020 presidential election

Since the impeachment trial was concluded in February, former vice president Biden has become the Democratic challenger to Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election – due to be held on 3 November.

It has been a bitterly contested campaign, defined largely by the two candidates’ differing approaches to the coronavirus pandemic – which has killed more than 200,000 Americans – as well as race relations and climate change.

Yet Burisma continues to feature in political discussions.

The president has not abandoned his claim that the Bidens’ exerted improper influence in Ukraine, while a months-long inquiry has been conducted by Senate Republicans seeking to prove illicit behaviour.

In an update to their investigation, published in September, Republican senators claimed “Hunter Biden’s position on Burisma’s board cast a shadow over the work of those advancing anti-corruption reforms in Ukraine”.

The report – dramatically titled “Hunter Biden, Burisma, and Corruption” – has been criticised, however, for a lack of compelling new evidence to support allegations of wrongdoing against the former vice president.

Democrats have described the probe as a “politically-motivated investigation” designed to “damage [Biden’s] prospects as a challenger to President Trump“.

Burisma’s time under the spotlight of US politics does not appear to be over just yet.

‘My Son Hunter’ True Fact: Hunter Biden Took a Salary of $83K per Month from Ukrainian Energy Co. Burisma

No Comments on ‘My Son Hunter’ True Fact: Hunter Biden Took a Salary of $83K per Month from Ukrainian Energy Co. Burisma

My Son Hunter, the new movie from Breitbart News, is a fact-based dramatization of the life of debauchery and corruption lived by the first son Hunter Biden. Although the movie takes certain artistic liberties, many scenes portray true accounts of the Biden scion’s life; this “True Fact” series will detail those accuracies.

True Fact: Hunter Biden took a salary of $83,000 per month from his seat on the board of Ukrainian Energy Company, Burisma.

Hunter Biden was taking a salary of over $83,000 per month from Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings Ltd., to sit on its board while his father was Vice President, according to documents on the first son’s “Laptop from Hell.”

That salary was cut in half in 2017, according to emails on the laptop, when his father ended his term as Vice President.

While Joe Biden was VP, Hunter was collecting $1 million per year to sit on the board, despite his apparent lack of knowledge or experience in the Eastern European energy industry.

Former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter golfing in the Hamptons with Devon Archer, who served on the board of the Ukrainian natural gas company Burisma Holdings with Hunter.

Then, according to a 2017 email, Burisma executive Vadyn Pozharskyi sent Hunter a new contract outlining an “amended compensation rate.”

“We are very much interested in working closely together, and the remuneration is still the highest in the company and higher than the standard director’s monthly fees. I am sure you will find it both fair and reasonable,” Pozharskyi wrote.

Following the “amended” rate, the now-first son’s monthly salary dropped down to $41,500 per month. No justification was put in writing for the pay cut.

Hunter appears to have introduced Pozharskyi to his father in 2015, according to a smoking-gun email on the laptop first reported by the New York Post in 2020.

“Dear Hunter, thank you for inviting me to DC and giving an opportunity to meet your father and spent [sic] some time together. It’s realty [sic] an honor and pleasure,” an email sent to the Biden scion from the Burisma executive says. The meeting occurred less than a year before then-Vice President Joe Biden admittedly pressured Ukrainian officials to fire a prosecutor who was investigating the company.

My Son Hunter marks Breitbart’s expansion into film distribution. My Son Hunter stars Laurence Fox (Victoria, Inspector Lewis, The Professor and the Madman) as Hunter Biden; Gina Carano (The Mandalorian, Dead Pool, Heist) as a Secret Service Agent; and John James (Dynasty) as Joe Biden. It was produced by Phelim McAleer and Ann McElhinney (Gosnell Movie, FBI Lovebirds: Undercovers) from the Unreported Story Society, and directed by Robert Davi (Goonies, License to Kill, Die Hard). The film is available RIGHT NOW for Streaming and Downloading at MySonHunter.com.

The trailer below has been viewed almost 5 million times across social media.

Report: Biden Leases Fewer Acres for Oil and Gas Drilling Than Any President Since 1940s

September 15, 2022

Daniel Baldwin, OAN White House Correspondent

UPDATED 3:15 PM PT – Thursday, September 15, 2022

A new report from the Department of the Interior shows the Biden Administration has leased fewer acres of land for oil and gas drilling on federal lands and waters since former President Harry Truman in the 1940s.

The Department of the Interior has given out leases for 126,228 acres through August 20, 2022, according to analysis from the Wall Street Journal. The last president to lease out less than 4.4 million acres at this point in the first term of his presidency was Richard Nixon in 1969-1970.

“Joe Biden has been, I won’t say a closet radical, but simply a radical throughout his entire career in public service,” Larry Behrans, communications director for Power the Future, told One America News. “And so the fact that he had the reins of the federal government and is punishing American energy independence like he has is something that really should surprise no one.”

This comes as President Joe Biden held an “inflation reduction” party at the White House South Lawn Tuesday, driven by the signing of his Inflation Reduction Act. Yet, Biden failed to mention that inflation hit a worse than expected 8.3% earlier that same day. Specifically, energy services increased 19.8% year-over-year and utility (piped) gas service jumped 33%. Behrans says Biden refusing to lease acres for drilling is sending Americans a terrible message in light of these numbers.

“The green ideology and the cult of the environmental movement is more important than American family budgets,” Behrans said. “It’s really that simple.”

Behrans says the Biden Administration could not care less that the average American family is struggling to make ends meet.

“They know the pain that this is causing at the American family kitchen table,” Behrans said. “We all try to figure out how to make ends meet and they don’t care and to make matters worse, they actually celebrate. They say things are getting better. The disconnect has never been so wide. It’s a grand canyon chasm of disconnect between what Joe Biden is saying and the reality that American families are facing. And it is all energy.”

Biden has repeatedly pledged to the American people that he would wean the U.S. off of fossil fuels and transition to more climate-friendly solution.

“No more drilling on federal lands, no more drilling including offshore—no ability for the oil industry to continue to drill—period,” Biden said on the campaign trail.

Behrans says this refusal to lease out acres for drilling has directly contributed to skyrocketing prices.

“[Inflation is] hotter than expected because Joe Biden has undermined American energy independence,” Behrans explained. “Yes, oil is a huge component of what goes into the price of the pump, but we’re all heated by natural gas. And that is also extracted on American lands. And when Joe Biden has cut off American energy production on public lands to the degree he has, then, you know, just third grade economics is gonna tell you that the price is gonna go through the roof.”

Behrans says Europe is an indicator of where the U.S. could be headed if Biden’s green agenda pushes forward. Europe has been experimenting with new methods of conserving energy as winter approaches, with some cities in Germany turning off heating and switching to cold showers.

“The next step is going to be what we’re seeing in Europe, where it goes from massively expensive energy to energy scarcity,” said Behrans. “And so there needs to be an absolute U-turn on this insane energy policy. That is the cause of record gas prices. And once in a generation inflation, it literally comes down to that one thing. And the cause is Joe Biden.”

List of largest oil and gas companies by revenue

This is a list of the largest oil and gas companies in the world by yearly total revenue. Total revenue is listed in billions of U.S. dollars. Total revenue is usually self-reported by the company, and often reported by neutral, unbiased, reliable publications. Reported data may be subsequently revised or restated due to a wide range of issues such as exchange rates, contract settlements, or mid-year discontinuation of products or services. Fiscal years are for January 1 to December 31, except where noted. Empty cells indicate that no data for that year has been reported yet.

This list is partially sourced from the S&P Global Commodity Insights Top 250 Global Energy Company Rankings for 2022. The S&P Global list is restricted to publicly traded companies, and only integrated oil and gas, oil and gas exploration and production, oil and gas refining and marketing, and oil and gas storage and transportation companies were included on this list.[1] For state-owned oil corporations, it is also partially sourced from data provided by Statista[2] and the Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute.[3]

This list provides data for parent companies, not each subsidiary.

5 Biggest Oil Tanker Companies

TK, EURN, and STNG lead the 5 biggest oil tanker companies list

By Matthew Johnston

Updated September 10, 2022

Reviewed by Chip Stapleton

Oil tanker companies specialize in the transportation and storage of crude oil. The business involves firms that own, operate, or lease various types of oil tankers and facilities. Crude tankers transport bulk volumes of unrefined crude oil from oil extraction facilities to oil refineries, while product tankers carry refined products to facilities where they will be sold to end consumers, and replenishment oilers are used to refuel ships at sea.

One type of tanker that became especially important in early 2020 was old, nonoperational oil tankers used as floating storage units. The oil price war between Russia and Saudi Arabia and the impact of COVID-19 led to plunging oil prices as a glut of supply flooded the market. As demand for oil evaporated, demand for oil storage soared. Oil tanker companies offering storage profited from that demand and their stocks received a healthy boost.1

These are the 5 biggest oil tanker companies by 12-month trailing (TTM) revenue. Some companies outside the U.S. report profits semi-annually instead of quarterly, so the 12-month trailing data may be older than it is for companies that report quarterly. This list is limited to companies that are publicly traded in the U.S. and Canada, either directly or through ADRs. Data is courtesy of YCharts.com.2 All figures are as of September 8.

#1 Teekay Corp. (TK)

(TNK) and Teekay LNG Partners LP (TGP), trade separately under their own tickers. The revenue and market cap figures cited above for Teekay includes these two subsidiaries. TNK provides separate exposure to conventional crude oil tankers and product carriers, while TGP gives investors separate exposure to liquefied natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas carriers. TK provides exposure to both.

#2 Euronav NV (EURN)

Revenue (TTM): $475 million

Net Income (TTM): -$226 million

Market Cap: $3.4 billion

Exchange: New York Stock Exchange
