In the Appendix below that was filed with the US Supreme Court, the plaintiffs state:

This lawsuit arises out of the 2020 election for President of the United States. The original Complaint, filed December 22, 2020 (Dkt. #1) and which purports to be a class action lawsuit brought on behalf of 160 million registered voters, alleges a vast conspiracy between four state governors; secretaries of state; and various election officials of Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Georgia; along with Dominion Voting Systems, Inc.—a private supplier of election and voting technology; the social media company Facebook, Inc.; the Center for Tech and Civic Life (“CTCL”)—a non-profit organization dedicated to making elections more secure and inclusive; as well as Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan.

I use the words “vast conspiracy” advisedly. That is what the Complaint, all 84 pages and 409-plus paragraphs, alleges: that “the Defendants engaged in concerted action to interfere with the 2020 presidential election through a coordinated effort to, among other thing, change voting laws without legislative approval, use unreliable voting machines, alter votes through an illegitimate adjudication process, provide illegal methods of voting, count illegal votes, suppress the speech of opposing voices, disproportionally and privately fund only certain municipalities and counties, and other methods, all prohibited by the Constitution.” Dkt. #1 at 2, ¶ 4.

In the Petition of Writ (below) to the Supreme Court the petitioners note the following:

The rights of citizens, individually and as a class, to file a complaint against giant private persons who violate the rights of millions has been stripped by the decision of the 10th Circuit. Thus, this case is of great national importance.

This case is still alive. Help support this group as it may be our last chance.

Putin signs treaties on accession of Donbass, Zaporozhye, and Kherson to Russia

The documents are now to be verified by the Russian Constitutional Court and ratified by parliament

President Vladimir Putin has signed the treaties on the inclusion of the two Donbass republics, as well as Kherson and Zaporozhye Regions, which declared independence from Ukraine, into the Russian Federation. Friday’s ceremony marks the start of the formal process of their accession to Russia.

The heads of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Denis Pushilin and Leonid Pasechnik, as well as the leaders of Kherson and Zaporozhye Regions, Vladimir Saldo and Evgeny Balitsky, signed the accession treaties together with Putin at Friday's ceremony.

The move follows official requests by the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as the two southern Ukrainian regions, which declared independence, to join Russia. All four territories held referendums on the issue between September 23 and 27, which saw overwhelming support for the move, according to the results announced earlier this week by the local election committees.

In Donetsk, 99.23% of the people voted to reunite with Russia, with Lugansk showing a slightly lower figure of 98.42%. Zaporozhye Region highly supported the idea of splitting from Ukraine and joining Russia, with around 93% of voters backing it. Some 87% voted in favor in Kherson Region as well.

The treaties will now be submitted to Russia’s Constitutional Court, which will assess them to ensure they do not violate Russian law. Once they are cleared, the agreements will have to be ratified first by the State Duma – the lower house of the Russian parliament – and then by the Federal Council, its upper house.

The lawmakers will also need to pass legislation on incorporating the two republics and two regions into Russia. The Donbass republics, as well as Kherson and Zaporozhye, will become part of Russia no sooner than the law is signed by Putin.

On Thursday, State Duma speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said that the lower house of Russian parliament would convene on October 3 to discuss a number of issues, including the treaties’ potential ratification. The Federal Council could also discuss the ratification at its regular session on October 4, the upper chamber’s head, Valentina Matviyenko, confirmed on Wednesday. “I do not see the need for extraordinary sessions,” she told journalists at the time.

In February 2022, the Kremlin recognized the Donbass republics as independent states, accusing Kiev of failing to implement the Minsk agreements, designed to give the regions of Donetsk and Lugansk special status within the Ukrainian state. The protocols, brokered by Germany and France, were first signed in 2014.

Russia calls on Kiev to return to negotiations – Putin

Moscow will not discuss the choice made by the Donbass republics, Kherson and Zaporozhye, president has said

Moscow is ready for talks with Kiev, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday at a ceremony for the signing of treaties on the inclusion of the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics (LPR and DPR), as well as the regions of Kherson and Zaporozhye, which declared independence from Ukraine, into Russia.

“We call on the Kiev regime to cease all hostilities, stop the war it started back in 2014 and return to the negotiating table,” he said, adding, however, that Moscow will not “betray” the territories that want to become a part of Russia.

“People have made their choice. A clear one,” Putin said.

Putin has called on Kiev to treat the “free choice” made by the people of the four territories “with respect.”

“That is the only way for peace,” he added.

The president also warned that Russia would defend its territory using all means available and would do “everything to ensure the security of its people.”

He also vowed to help the four territories joining Russia to rebuild, adding that their people would feel the support of all Russian regions.

Friday's ceremony marks the start of the formal process of the four territories’ accession to Russia. After Putin signs the accession treaties, they will be examined by the Constitutional Court and, if cleared, will be sent for ratification to the two chambers of the Russian parliament – the State Duma and Federation Council. Russian lawmakers are expected to convene to discuss the issue next week.

In February 2022, Russia recognized the Donbass republics as independent states, accusing Kiev of failing to implement the Minsk agreements, designed to give the regions of Donetsk and Lugansk special status within the Ukrainian state. The protocols, brokered by Germany and France, were first signed in 2014.

On Thursday, Putin also recognized the independence of Kherson and Zaporozhye Regions, both of which were seized by Russian forces soon after the start of the conflict between Moscow and Kiev in February 2022. Since that time, the authorities in these regions had repeatedly mulled the idea of joining Russia before eventually holding the referendums in September.

Key Donbass city ‘half-encircled’ by Ukraine – DPR

Kiev deployed formidable force during its offensive, a top Donbass official has said Ukrainian troops are trying to surround the city of Krasny Liman, an important railway hub, Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) head Denis Pushilin has said.

The situation is “alarming” because Ukrainians have “half-encircled” the city located on the DPR’s northern edge, Pushilin wrote on his Telegram channel on Friday.

Krasny Liman, known as Liman in Ukraine, was seized by Russian and Donbass forces in late May.

The DPR military reported on Friday that the city’s defenses have not been breached despite “constant” shelling by Ukraine.

Pushilin said that the DPR has lost full control of the cities of Yampol and Drobyshevo, while theUkrainians are shelling the supply routebetween Krasny Liman and Svatovo.

“Our boys are fighting. We’re bringing in reserves, we should be able to hold on. However, the enemy has also deployed [strong] forces,” he wrote.

This is very unpleasant news, but we must look soberly at the situation and draw conclusions from our mistakes.

The news comes as Russian President Vladimir Putin is due to sign documents on the accession of the DPR and the neighboring Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) into Russia on Friday. Putin will also sign treaties on the accession of the Russian-held Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, which declared independence from Ukraine.

These four territories overwhelmingly voted in favor of joining Russia in referendums held between September 23 and 27.

Ukraine and the West consider the vote illegal and refuse to recognize the results.

Putin declared a partial mobilization last week, with the aim of adding 300,000 reservists to the army.

Private texts between Elon Musk and Jack Dorsey made public

Court documents show Musk and former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey discussed changes to the platform prior to the $44 billion buyout

Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk and Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey had communicated privately about the social media platform well before the former made a $44 billion buyout offer, newly revealed court records show.

A set of text messages exchanged between the two appeared to show Dorsey having tried to get Musk onto Twitter’s board at least a year before the Tesla CEO offered to buy the company outright this past April.

In a text sent on March 26, 2022, Dorsey wrote to Musk that “a new platform is needed. It can’t be a company. That’s why I left.” He explained that he thinks Twitter should be an “open-sourced protocol” and can’t be based around an advertising model, as most social media companies are.

Musk replied by saying he would “like to help if I’m able,” to which Dorsey said that he had already tried to get the Tesla CEO involved with the company a year earlier. “You care so much, get its importance and could def help in immeasurable ways,” Dorsey told Musk before revealing that the “risk averse” board had rejected the idea.

Dorsey said that he thought it was “completely stupid and backwards” that the Twitter board saw the inclusion of Musk as adding “more risk” to the company and claimed that it was at this time he decided to step down as CEO of the platform, which he did in November 2021.

The text messages also suggest that Dorsey tried to get Musk to join the board while the company was battling with activist investor firm Elliott Management in 2020, whose founder Paul Singer was seeking to oust Dorsey as CEO and make Twitter’s business side more profitable. “Back when we had the activist come in, I tried my hardest to get you on our board and our board said no.” Dorsey wrote.

A little over a week after the text exchange, Musk announced that he planned to join the Twitter board. He eventually changed course and offered to buy the company outright in order to battle policies at the social media giant that he claimed were hostile to free speech.

However, after agreeing to purchase Twitter for $44 billion at $54.20 per share, Musk decided to back out of the deal a month later after the company’s stock price took a dive. Musk’s attorneys have argued that he had been misled about Twitter and have cited concerns about privacy, security, and the number of fake accounts on the platform.

Twitter is in turn suing the billionaire to try to force him to hold up his end of the agreement and complete the purchase at the initially proposed price. A trial is scheduled for mid-October at the Delaware Chancery Court.
