It is the language itself which they bind others with, they program the inner voice early and subvert the faculty of imagination (the capacity to conjure mental images in alignment with Natural Law allowing for accurate navigation of reality). Doesn't matter what book it is, if it is written in a language it is corruptible and can be used to control the voice.
