I can agree with you on these things as one way or path forward, but crimes have been committed and have caused hardships and deaths as a result; they need to be prosecuted correctly.
This is the game being played:
I did what I thought was right at the time, not what I know is right.
You hear it in all types of BS.
We argued, we think no reasonable prosecutor would pursue, don't tell me how to do my job, it is being processed, it is classified, we can't jeopardize….etc
