A "morality" test.
>Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men's faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.
But what happens when those doing the testing are behind the immorality being tested?
Imagine if the very people responsible for Sodom and Gomoras behavior, judged the little people as immoral for tolerating it when they themselves are behind it. Even with degrees of separation they think covers them, they're still behind it.
Not all believe what they claim to believe, some are acting.
Remember, there's a war on for your mind.
He never said He was king, the Romans did. He knew they wanted to make Him king by force so He slipped away. He told Pilate you say I'm a king. He said He came to testify to the Truth.
