Economist Jeffrey Sachs speculated on Monday that the sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines was the work of the US

This dude cites 'US helicopters … circling over' the NS pipelines prior to the sabotage. Half chan runs with a P-8 Poseidon flight path as proof of US action against the NS pipelines.
Everyone seems to be missing the point that US anti-submarine patrols are conducted by airborne assets like helicopters and P-8 aircraft. Setting aside the superficial analysis that these ASW assets conducted the sabotage isn't it prudent to ask the question:
"What did these anti-submarine warfare aircraft on patrol detect?"
