Google used to keep draft history so well you could go through all of the drafts from a recipient's email using the metadata. Every time you connect, it knows if it is a new device, logs your user agent, and IP. Unless you are both spoofing your user agent to be the same one and using the same proxy every time, it's going to be pretty obvious if an outside party investigates.
