They are really trying to shut California down.

Like I said they are trying to shut Cali down. Where are you supposed to charge your electric forklift when you can't charge your Tesla? Also forklifts would be most likely to be charged at night, no solar at night.
Geographically California is actually mostly conservative. Unfortunately the vote is by population and since the rest of the country has spent the last 60+ years exporting all their lefty loons here and they all congregated in the the two big metroplexes the rest of us get hosed. Good news for us though is they are now going back where they came from. Don't say you weren't warned.
Hydrogen fuel cells have problems too. Hydrogen has a nasty habit of going boom so most of them run off of hydrocarbons which means really high temps to break down the chain which results in all sorts of additional things besides water in the exhaust. As with most such things hydrogen is an energy storage system, not a fuel. Technically speaking so is oil but the energy was put in a long time ago and didn't cost us anything so to that extent it is energy positive. Ultimately the source of all the energy we use is the sun. We just really suck and collecting and converting it to a usable form.
Not to burst your bubble anon but I'm in Cal. So no "I got mine and fuck you" arguments on this from me. I'm glad to see them go.
I can tell you from personal experience most of what I call the lefty loons (some of whom are family) are exactly that. They don't belong to some secret cabal, they actually believe the shit they spew.
