Moscow questions if Washington knows Kiev's terrorism plans

US spooks may have leaked suspicions that Ukraine was behind a bombing in Russia to disclaim future attacks, the Kremlin says

Moscow hopes the US government did not leak its suspicions that Kiev masterminded a high-profile assassination in Russia with a view to disclaiming responsibility for future terrorist attacks, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Thursday.

He was commenting on a report in the New York Times, which contained details of an assessment by the US intelligence community regarding a bomb attack near Moscow in August, in which journalist and political activist Darya Dugina was killed.

“The involvement of the Ukrainian state in this terrorist act, the murder of a young woman, was argued and demonstrated by our special services in a reasonably swift manner,” Peskov told journalists.

The Kremlin spokesman noted the NYT article may be a positive development, provided that its reporting accurately reflects the stance of the US intelligence community.

“We really want to hope that this is not some attempt by the American colleagues, who may possess certain information, to disclaim responsibility for future terrorist acts that the Ukrainian state may be preparing,” he added.

According to the NYT, American spies believe that “parts of the Ukrainian government authorized” the assassination of Dugina. Its sources claimed that the US had nothing to do with the crime and had no advance knowledge of it. Washington reportedly admonished Kiev for the killing, despite Ukraine’s insistence that it had nothing to do with it either.

The story described Washington’s concerns about possible Russian retaliation for targeting Dugina and a number of Ukrainian officials who cooperated with Moscow in governing lands captured from Kiev.

A senior Ukrainian military official confirmed to the NYT that Kiev had carried out “attacks on accused Ukrainian collaborators,” some of which were fatal. “Some American officials believe it is crucial to curb what they see as dangerous adventurism [on Kiev’s part], particularly political assassinations,” the newspaper added.

Dugina was the daughter of Russian philosopher Aleksandr Dugin, a controversial public figure known for his advocacy of Russian exceptionalism. Some observers claimed that his ideas had influenced Russian foreign policy, including Moscow’s decision to send troops into Ukraine in late February. Darya shared her father’s political convictions.

Russia’s security service, the FSB, identified two Ukrainian nationals, a man and a woman, as members of a hit squad responsible for Dugina’s assassination. Both had left the country before they could be arrested.

The woman, Natalya Vovk, rented an apartment in the block where Dugina lived and visited an event outside of Moscow, where the bomb was planted on the victim’s car, according to the investigators. The man, Bogdan Tsiganenko, allegedly assembled the explosive device and otherwise facilitated the hit.

EU bans Russians from crypto market

New sanctions forbid all payments to European wallet providers

The EU has imposed a sweeping ban on providing crypto services to Russians as part of its eighth round of sanctions that were approved on Thursday. The new measure steps up restrictions that had been in place since April.

“The existing prohibitions on crypto assets have been tightened by banning all crypto-asset wallets, accounts, or custody services, irrespective of the amount of the wallet (previously up to €10,000 [$9,900] was allowed),” reads a press release published on the European Commission’s website.

After Visa and Mastercard left the Russian market earlier this year and some banks were disconnected from SWIFT, cryptocurrencies, in particular stablecoin USDT, became one of the most popular ways for Russians to move money abroad.

Crypto service operators headquartered in the EU may have to stop processing transactions with Russians, unless the clients are resident in the bloc, Forbes Russia wrote on Thursday.

Non-EU platforms may follow suit, Forbes Russia warned. After the bloc introduced a limit of €10,000 in April, US-registered Binance, one of the most popular exchanges among Russians, adopted the same measure.

Russian-British activist faces 20-year sentence for ‘treason’ – media

Vladimir Kara-Murza is suspected of having compromised Russian security by aiding NATO member states, sources claimed

Opposition activist Vladimir Kara-Murza has been charged with treason over alleged cooperation with organizations based in NATO member states, several media outlets reported on Thursday, citing sources in law enforcement.

Kara-Murza, who holds both British and Russian citizenship, is reportedly suspected of aiding and abetting foreign powers hostile to Russia.

According to newspaper Izvestia, investigators claimed that he had consulted for people working for foreign intelligence services and was paid $30,000 per month for his services.

Sources cited by RT Russian and TASS claimed that Kara-Murza was for years involved with organizations based in NATO member states and had helped them undermine Russian national security. RT’s source named the same sum of monetary compensation that Kara-Murza had allegedly received.

Russian prosecutors believe that they can prove that the activist’s actions constitute a crime of state treason, the outlets said. The felony is punishable by a prison term of up to 20 years.

Kara-Murza has long been a prominent member of anti-government political forces in Russia. He also garnered the attention of Western press for surviving two alleged poisonings, which he and other critics of the Russian government claimed to have been assassination attempts and connected with his criticism of the authorities.

The 41-year-old has been held in Russian custody since late April, as law enforcement investigate him for allegedly slandering the country’s armed forces. The case is based on a speech that he delivered before the Arizona state Congress in March, where he accused Russian troops in Ukraine of alleged war crimes.

Kara-Murza has permanent resident status in the US, according to Western media. The Russian Justice Ministry designated him an individual acting as a foreign agent on the day he was arrested.

Ukraine's anti-corruption bureau has sent a 'notice of suspicion' in an embezzlement case to a suspect at the central bank, days after Governor Kyrylo Shevchenko suddenly resigned, citing health reasons.

As Bloomberg notes, Shevchenko is not directly named - but the details provided match his CV. Authorities said in a statement that the individual was a senior official involved in an alleged scheme to bilk 206 million hryvnia ($5.6 million) from state-run Ukrgazbank between November 2014 and March 2020.

"The details provided matched the central banker’s career history," writes Bloomberg, which adds that his whereabouts is unknown.

Shevchenko submitted his resignation to President Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Tuesday, according to a statement posted on the central bank’s website. His departure is subject to approval by parliament in a vote expected later in the day.

Investigators said that ex-Ukrgazbank chief executive officer and his two deputies channeled money out of the bank via payments for services to “pseudo intermediaries” who brought big clients to the lender. The services existed only “on paper,” as clients deposited money in the bank on their own initiative or according to rules set up by the government for state companies, the investigators said. -Bloomberg

Soaring energy prices will lead to drastic long-term consequences on the continent, Alexander De Croo told the Financial Times

Europe could soon face a significant reduction in industrial activity and social unrest unless something is done to lower energy prices before winter sets in, Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo has warned.

In an interview with the Financial Times published on Thursday, he said that unless there was an intervention in the gas markets, “we are risking massive deindustrialization of the European continent and the long-term consequences that might actually be very deep.”

De Croo insisted on a multi-layered approach to the gas crisis, which he says should include a hard price cap on Russian natural gas, negotiations with suppliers such as Norway and Algeria, and a “dynamic” limit on the price of liquefied natural gas (LNG), which he suggests could be set slightly above prices in the US or Asia to ensure continued flows to Europe.

The Belgian leader also warned that governments must be “prudent” not only to counter soaring inflation, which stems from high energy prices, but also tackle the risk of social unrest that comes with it.

“Our populations are getting invoices which are completely insane. At some point, it will snap. I understand that people are angry . . . people don’t have the means to pay it,” De Croo told the FT.

His comments come after thousands of demonstrators rallied in Brussels in late September to demand higher wages and lower energy prices after it was revealed that some 64% of the country’s citizens were afraid of not being able to pay their energy bills which had reached a staggering average of €700 ($690) a month.

The Belgian PM had previously warned that “the next five to ten winters will be difficult” in Europe due to record gas prices, but stated that Belgium would endure the crisis “if we support each other in these difficult times.”

Gas prices in Europe surged earlier this year after Russia launched its military operation in Ukraine in late February. After the EU and other Western countries imposed sweeping sanctions on Moscow and began a campaign of cutting themselves off from Russian energy supplies, gas prices hit record levels, leading to a rise in overall inflation on the continent.

The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday that the Biden administration proposed a deal that will ease sanctions on Venezuela, allowing Chevron to pump oil in the country after OPEC+ unveiled its largest production cut since COVID (despite Biden's begging).

According to people familiar with the proposal, in exchange for significant sanctions relief (and the potential reopening of US and European markets for Venezuelan crude exports), the government of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro would resume long-suspended talks with the country’s opposition to discuss conditions needed to hold free and fair presidential elections in 2024

Officials have reportedly also worked out a deal that would free up hundreds of millions of dollars in Venezuelan state funds frozen in American banks to pay for imports of food, medicine and equipment for the country’s battered electricity grid and municipal water systems.

Chevron spokesman Ray Fohr didn’t comment on the proposed deal, but said that in Venezuela, “we have dedicated investments and a large workforce who are dependent on our presence.” He said the company is in compliance with the current sanctions framework.

Former police officer allegedly massacred dozens of toddlers at Thailand day care facility, at least 37 dead: Report

A former police officer has allegedly terrorized a day care center in Thailand, killing at least 37 people, including himself.

According to reports, former Sergeant Panya Kamrap, 34, entered the the Child Development Center in Nong Bua Lamphu province around noon, perhaps searching for his 2-year-old stepson, who was often placed in care there, but who was not there that day. However, rather than leaving, Kamrap immediately began attacking teachers and children, witnesses said.

"I suddenly heard the sound, just sounded like firecrackers. So I looked back [and] the two staffs just collapsed on the floor," recalled one unidentified employee.

"Then he pulled another gun from his waist," the person added. "…I didn’t expect he would also kill the kids."

But, according to reports, that's exactly what he did. Police say that he then shot and stabbed nearly two dozen napping children, most of them age 3 and younger.

Kamrap opened "fire while the kids were sleeping," claimed Maj. Gen. Jirapob Puridet of the Thai Central Investigation Bureau. Every child in that room except one died in the attack.

Witnesses claimed that Kamrap did not say anything before or during the ambush.

After he left the Child Development Center, police say he returned to his home, where he then murdered his wife and stepson before turning a gun on himself. In all, police estimate that 37 people have died in the attack, 24 of whom were children. One of the care workers at the facility who died was a woman who was eight months pregnant. Most of the deaths were the result of "stabbing wounds," police said. The suspect's wife and stepson have been included in the death toll, but it is unclear whether Kamrap has as well.

Kamrap was a former policeman who was dismissed from his duties last year under suspicion that he was selling narcotics. Kamrap had been charged with selling narcotics and appeared in court earlier Thursday morning. The purpose of the court hearing and what happened during it are both unclear.

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, who called the deadly incident "shocking," is expected to visit the area on Friday to express his condolences and to assist the devastated community. CNN has described the province, located about 335 miles northeast of Bangkok, as "a largely peaceful and quiet area" where mass murders are "rare."

FBI Sued for Withholding Records of Facebook Censorship of Hunter Biden Laptop Story

Amid mounting questions over an FBI warning that prompted Facebook to suppress a story about Hunter Biden’s laptop, the federal agency now faces a lawsuit seeking to compel it to publicize conversations it had with the social media giant.

The lawsuit was filed Tuesday by America First Legal (AFL) at a Washington D.C. District Court. The non-profit group, founded by longtime Donald Trump adviser Stephen Miller, said Americans deserve to know what the FBI and the social media giant were up to as the November elections approached.

According to the complaint (pdf), the AFL requested in August that the FBI make public all of its communications with Facebook between Oct. 1, 2020, and Nov. 15, 2020. However, the FBI turned down that request, claiming that it was so “overly broad” that it couldn’t be done “with a reasonable amount of effort.”

AFL’s complaint said: “Barely a month before the 2022 midterm election, FBI officials continue to suppress information of great interest to American voters and stonewall AFL’s request for records relating to the FBI’s collusive scheme with Facebook to censor news and information about the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop.”

Zuckerberg’s Podcast Comments

Facebook has drawn much scrutiny after Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, told popular podcast host Joe Rogan that the platform did algorithmically suppress a New York Post story on emails allegedly recovered from a laptop owned by then-presidential candidate Joe Biden’s son. Those emails, according to the Post, showed a direct link Biden had with his son’s dubious business dealings in China and Ukraine.

Zuckerberg said this apparent censorship only happened after the FBI approached Meta with warnings about “Russian disinformation.”

“The background here is that the FBI came to us—some folks on our team—and was like, ‘Hey, just so you know, you should be on high alert. We thought there was a lot of Russian propaganda in the 2016 election, we have it on notice that basically there’s about to be some kind of dump that’s similar to that,'” he told Rogan in the Aug. 25 interview.

The FBI didn’t specifically mention the laptop story, Zuckerberg said, but Facebook thought it “fit that pattern” the FBI described and decided to limit its reach.

Despite Zuckerberg’s claims, the AFL insists that there was a “comprehensive collusion” between the FBI and Big Tech to censor and control critical information in an effort to put Joe Biden into the White House.

“The evidence is that during the 2020 Presidential election campaign, the FBI conspired and combined with large corporations, including Facebook, to censor and suppress the damning evidence of Biden family corruption and influence peddling found on Hunter Biden’s laptop,” said AFL Senior Counselor Reed Rubinstein. “This was done to help Joe Biden and the Democrats win the 2020 election.”

Republican Sens. Chuck Grassley (Iowa) and Ron Johnson (Wis.) agreed. In their letters to Zuckerberg and FBI Director Chris Wray, the senators asked for names of the government and Facebook employees involved in those conversations about “Russian disinformation.”

“The American people deserve to know whether the FBI used Facebook as part of their alleged plan to discredit information about Hunter Biden,” the senators wrote.

Swedish Investigators Find Evidence of ‘Serious Sabotage’ at Nord Stream Pipelines

A Swedish agency on Thursday found that leaks from the two Russian Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines in the Baltic Sea were likely caused by “serious sabotage” and evidence from the site was taken.

The Swedish Security Service confirmed that “detonations” were responsible for the extensive damage to the wholly Russian-owned pipelines last week. Seismologists in Denmark and Sweden have also said that the damage was not of natural origin, saying that blasts most likely were the cause.

“During the crime scene investigation … seizures have been made,” said the Security Service. “As part of the work,” it added in a statement, “the seizures will now be reviewed and analyzed.”

“The continued preliminary investigation must show whether someone can be served with suspicion and later prosecuted,” Sweden’s Security Service said in a statement, adding the blasts are a “very serious” development.

Now that the initial probe is completed, a blockade around the pipelines off Sweden will be lifted, Swedish officials also said Thursday.

The governments of Denmark and Sweden previously said they suspected that several hundred pounds of explosives were involved in carrying out a deliberate act of sabotage. The leaks from Nord Stream 1 and 2 discharged huge amounts of methane into the air.

Danish authorities said the two methane leaks they were monitoring in international waters stopped over the weekend. One of the leaks off Sweden also appeared to have ended.

Energy Standoff

Officials in the European Union have publicly suspected sabotage, namely as the incident comes in the midst of an energy standoff between the EU, Germany, and Moscow. But Russian authorities have said that such accusations are “predictably stupid,” noting that the pipelines are Russian-owned infrastructure and that the natural gas inside them is also Russian in origin.

And some have suggested that the United States or one of its allies was behind the sabotage attack, which Pentagon and White House officials have categorically denied.

Earlier this week, a top economist with Columbia University, Jeffrey Sachs, publicly speculated that the United States would gain the most from the attack because it would then be able to sell its natural gas to Europe by cutting out Russia.

Sachs also pointed to public statements made by President Joe Biden about the pipeline and last week’s comment from Secretary of State Antony Blinken that it’s now a “tremendous opportunity” for the EU to reduce dependency on Russian gas.

In a statement on Thursday, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova wrote that EU countries were betrayed by the United States.

The spokeswoman noted that Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak recently said Russia was ready to supply gas through an undamaged branch of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.

“Will anyone now dare claim after that our country is behind this act of sabotage? I agree it’s hard to face the truth. But someday the EU countries will have to face up to the fact they were betrayed by their allies,” Zakharova wrote.

US Not Involved in ‘Sabotage’

When questioned during a Fox News interview on Tuesday evening, White House and Pentagon spokesman John Kirby flatly denied Washington had anything to do with the incident. Those allegations, he asserted, are Russian propaganda.

Wisconsin Democrat Gov. Tony Evers’ Dept. of Public Instruction Told White People to Wear Wristbands as ‘Reminder of Your Privilege’

White people were told to engage in a racial shaming exercise to remind them of their privilege by Wisconsin Democrat Governor Tony Evers’ Department of Public Instruction (DPI) when he was its superintendent.

A document promoted by the Department of Public Instruction, obtained exclusively by Breitbart News, suggested white people “wear a white wristband as a reminder about your privilege.”

Democrat Governor Tony Evers, who is up for reelection, was the Superintendent of the Department of Public Instruction from 2009 to 2019. During his time as Superintendent, the department worked alongside Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA).

Evers spoke highly of VISTA, remarking that Wisconsin was “very fortunate” to have assistance from VISTA volunteers, and that their work was “very important.”

A document titled “Addressing Racial Privilege: A Mental Model for White Anti-Racists,” was distributed at a joint DPI-VISTA training in 2013, while Evers was the Superintendent. The document urged people to engage in a number of anti-white racial shaming exercises, including wearing wristbands as “a reminder about your privilege, and as a personal commitment to explain why you wear the wristband.”

The document also told white people to “find a person of color who is willing to hold you accountable for addressing privilege” and to “make a daily list of the ways privilege played out, and steps taken or not taken to address privilege.”

“Set aside sections of the day to critically examine how privilege is working,” it read. Another section demanded attendees “be willing to teach others and hold them accountable.”

The document asked a number of questions, including “What am I doing today to undo my privilege? and “How do I define my moral obligation?”

All of the questions, demands, and action items were centered around the “big question,” which read “How do I live with my privilege?”

As the Superintendent of Public Instruction, Evers had control over the curriculum of Wisconsin public schools. After initial outcry about the racially charged document, the Wisconsin DPI scrubbed the document from their website.

A section of their website, titled “Power and Privilege,” denies that DPI officials had asked students or school personnel to wear wristbands to atone for their white privilege.

The website does, however, say that after a training session with VISTA volunteers, “​​a packet of ‘additional resources’ was offered by the trainers as the volunteers left. Subsequently, that entire resource packet was posted to the VISTA web site.”

Users who click on the link to the document currently on the website are directed to a page that says, “Misconceptions and misinformation about the document are being spread by an out-of-state entity that has no connection with the public schools in Wisconsin.”

Politifact has stated “DPI was responsible for a flier given to 13 federally paid workers that suggests white people consider wearing the white wristbands.”

Breitbart News contacted the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, asking the department if it was “willing to denounce exercises or activities that intend to get white students, volunteers, or personnel to atone or apologize for racial privilege.”

Communications Director Abigail Swetz told Breitbart News, “I assume it was removed because it does not reflect best practices in equity trainings, and as an education agency, we are constantly learning and continue to revise best practices.”

Swetz did not offer any condemnation of such exercises or activities, but rather went on to say, “The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction strongly supports equity in education, which includes trainings about combatting racism.”

Before becoming the Communications Director of DPI, Swetz was engaged in leftist activism and called herself a “proud queer public school teacher.” Swetz also spoke at the Women’s March in Madison and received the “Teacher of the Year” award from GSafe, a leftist organization that organizes teachers and students to engage in progressive activism.

Denmark Coalition Collapses Over Government’s Coronavirus Era Overreach, Snap Election Looms

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksenannoucned Wednesday that the country would be holding a snap national election after her ruling coalition fractured in the aftermath of a mink cull that took place during the coronavirus pandemic.

Prime Minister Frederiksen, the leader of the Social Democrats, announced the snap elections after her party’s allies, the Social Liberal Party, threatened to hold a vote of confidence against her minority government, which has been in power since 2019.

The snap election comes after Fredericksen has lost popularity over her role in the culling of the country’s entire captive mink population during the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 in order to allegedly protect humans from possible mutations of the virus, Euronews reports.

Fredericksen and her government were criticised in June of this year by a parliamentary commission which slammed the government for killing millions of animals, including healthy mink not infected by the coronavirus. A total of eleven people were infected by the animals but no evidence emerged that the mutation was any more or less virulent than other strains of the virus.

On Wednesday afternoon, Mexico’s National Immigration Institute issued a statement confirming the issuance of a migratory alert for Francisco Javier “N.” Breitbart Texas confirmed the notice is for former Tamaulipas Governor Francisco Javier Cabeza de Vaca (2016-2022).

The migratory alert was issued at the request of Mexico’s Attorney General’s Office (FGR) after a Mexican district judge issued an arrest warrant.

The arrest warrant is not the first time Cabeza de Vaca has been singled out by Mexico’s federal government. In 2021, a similar issue arose after a judge issued a warrant on those same charges, however, Cabeza de Vaca’s immunity as governor blocked the matter at the time. His party, National Action, claimed that the warrant was a political ploy by President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO). When that warrant was first issued, INM also issued a migratory notice. At the time, Cabeza de Vaca and AMLO had clashed over the president’s strategy to fight cartels amid rumors of a presidential challenge in 2024.

It remains unclear if Cabeza de Vaca will run for president in 2024 against AMLO’s successor from the Morena party. Currently, three of AMLO’s closest allies are generally considered possible successors.

Less than one month after armed FBI agents handcuffed and dragged Mark Houck, a pro-life activist and father, out of his home in front of his wife and children, the FBI raided another pro-life activist for his involvement in a peaceful protest outside a Tennessee abortion facility.

FBI agents, with weapons drawn, swarmed Chet Gallagher’s home on Tuesday night, LifeNews.com reported, for allegedly violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, a law designed to keep people concerned with protecting unborn life away from abortion facilities. Gallagher was not home at the time of the raid so the FBI “demanded his whereabouts from Gallagher’s family” and his neighbors.

Gallagher is one of 11 activists devoted to defending unborn life who were federally indicted by the Department of Justice this week for allegedly violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act by standing in a hallway outside the Carafem abortion facility in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, in March 2021. Gallagher and six others were also charged with civil rights conspiracy.

You wouldn’t know it from the DOJ’s press release, which claims the 11 individuals “aided and abetted by one another, used force and physical obstruction to injure, intimidate and interfere with employees of the clinic and a patient who was seeking reproductive health services,” but the Christian pro-lifers spent most of their time peacefully praying, singing, and crying in the hallway leading to the abortion facility. Footage of the gathering eventually shows local police escorting several handcuffed members of the group out of the building and into a police van.

Compare this footage to pictures and videos of pro-abortion vandals’ damage to dozens of life-saving pregnancy centers and churches. A mysterious anarchist-connected group called Jane’s Revenge took responsibility for some of these attacks and threatened to “adopt increasingly extreme tactics to maintain freedom over our own bodies.”

Yet, it took more than a month and a half after the Dobbs v. Jackson decision leak and days after it refused to comment on the vandalism and destruction for the FBI to tell The Federalist that it would investigate the attacks. Now, nearly six months later, the FBI and DOJ have yet to publicize any indictments for the criminals who wreaked havoc on the institutions providing life-saving services to women and children in need.

That’s no accident. Attorney General Merrick Garland likes to pretend that the rule of law grants no exceptions, but Americans know that’s not the case.

The same corrupt DOJ that is targeting men, women, and children mourning the deaths of unborn babies dropped nearly half of its cases against the rioters who ravaged Portland for 100 consecutive days during the 2020 summer of rage. The DOJ wants you to somehow believe that standing in a hallway is worse than the violence that shook cities such as Minneapolis, Portland, and Kenosha, Wisconsin, to their core.

The same corrupt FBI that flocked to Talladega Superspeedway over hate crime allegations that a garage pull cord was a noose designed to target NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace ignored the open calls for violence against Supreme Court justices, up to the point of an assassination attempt against Justice Brett Kavanaugh, one of Garland’s former colleagues. They want you to somehow believe that hoaxes warrant more of their attention than actual death threats.

The same DOJ and FBI that are guilty of approving falsified FISA warrants, misleading Congress and the former president, executing political witch hunts against Democrats’ political opponents, and bringing a faulty case against Houck and his legal team at Thomas More Society want you to believe that they are equally applying justice.

Busted: Disinformation Operative Who Attacked Elon Musk’s Push for “Free Speech” Caught Red-Handed in Secret Influence Operation

It is not yet clear whether Elon Musk’s increasingly precarious play for Twitter will result in the restoration of free speech in the “global public square.” Successful or not, Elon’s brave move has clarified beyond any doubt the Regime’s fundamental hostility to free speech and dissent. Judging from the critical reactions from journalists, NGOs and Democrat politicians, you’d think the man were attempting to invade Poland rather than remove censorship on a social media platform.

Of all the regime scribblers and scribes flooding the internet with glorified blog posts on the awfulness of Elon Musk’s Twitter bid, a piece by Renée DiResta published in the Atlantic stands out from the rest — not because of its force of argument, but because of the largely forgotten scandal behind its author.

Like the now disgraced and jobless Nina Jankowicz, DiResta is a career-girl of the Disinformation Industry — a constellation of NATO and US State Department-funded NGOs and civil society groups that censor inconvenient truths, facts and narratives under the guise of protecting the public from so-called “disinformation.” And like Nina Jankowicz, it turns out that DiResta’s name is closely associated with one of the most explosive and aggressively covered-up influence operations of the century.

With that teaser in place, let’s start at the beginning with DiResta’s piece on Musk and Twitter. We invite the impatient reader to scroll down to DiResta’s scandal — but it’s worth the wait for those with more patience.

Like most well-trained operatives of the disinformation industry, Renée is smart enough to couch her defense of Twitter’s censorship in layers of obfuscatory verbiage and heavily qualified lip service to the importance of free-expression. We should remember that even the Department of Homeland Security assured us in a hilarious “fact sheet” that its ill-fated Disinformation Governance Board is set up to defend free speech.

But anything more than a cursory look at Diresta’s “concerned” reaction to Musk and his cadre of “free-speech absolutists” completely betrays her true agenda. Here she is scribbling away in the Atlantic (emphasis ours):

The idea of Twitter as the “global town square” was articulated by then-CEO Dick Costolo in 2013. He likened it to something from ancient Athens:

On Twitter, however, these problems reached unprecedented heights via unfettered virality and velocity. The Islamic State made a home on the platform; harassment mobs proliferated; state actors and conspiracy theorists alike recognized that Twitter was a remarkable venue for propagandizing, unmediated, to millions. Public opinion began to shift against the hands-off approach. Government regulators began to pay attention.

How could the company maximize freedom of expression while minimizing the unique harms that the new communication infrastructure had enabled? A content-moderation regime emerged. Over the next seven years, its rules and practices would evolve in response to new and novel challenges: taking down terrorist propaganda, minimizing bad information during a pandemic, handling a litany of rumors and lies about election theft.

Let’s put aside DiResta’s daft use of the passive voice for a moment and take a second to appreciate how radical this passage is. The author just lumped in terrorist propaganda — specifically, ISIS propaganda — with Covid skepticism and skepticism pertaining to election integrity. Given that this is the Regime’s perspective, it is much easier to understand not only why something like the Disinformation Governance Board would exist in the first place, but why it would be housed within the Department of Homeland Security — one of the largest national security bureaucracies set up in the aftermath of 9/11 to protect the nation from terrorism.

More Foul Play: Leaked Texts Expose Milwaukee Mayor's Plan To Rig Upcoming Election

This fact is known because private text messages from the Mayor’s phone were obtained by media outlets and reported on by The Federalist.

Rep. Janel Brandtjen submitted an open records request for the text messages and received what he was looking for. The texts show longtime Democratic Party operative Sachin Chheda speaking with Mayor Johnson about talking points for the Wisconsin Votes get-out-the-vote campaign. A left-wing group pushes the effort under the banner of the Center for Tech and Civic Life (funded in part by Mark Zuckerberg).

City officials have stated that Chheda is not receiving private funding for the effort, but it still shows that two things are apparent. The first is that the Mayor’s office is receiving marching orders from the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, and the second is that they appear to follow those orders in many cases.

Johnson’s spokesman Jeff Fleming sent a message to Chheda earlier this month that stated that it might not be a good idea for the Mayor’s office to coordinate its efforts so closely with Chheda’s group,

given how much of a media storm was churned up by doing so in recent days. Chheda did not seem to take this all that well, as she replied: “When I don’t have the information, we can’t coordinate.”

The Mayor has already held a press conference in which he stated that his office would be working directly with the Wisconsin Votes 2022 effort. This press conference drew concerns from the public that private grants may be issued to the organization to help it design its website and more.

Many say there is no reason the Mayor should be coordinating with the Democrat’s GOTV efforts. They say such efforts are the work of political parties, not cities. The fact that Johnson believes it is acceptable to be this cozy with a member of a specific political party and to help them out so great is troublesome for people who want good government officials running their cities.

US Army Releases New and Insane Strategic Plan to ‘Mitigate the Key Effects of Climate Change’

The Army on Wednesday released its new plan describing how it intends to combat climate change built around trying to survive increasingly extreme weather while limiting the service's contribution to the problem.

While the plan offers ways to reduce climate change, it does so without directly acknowledging the military's hand in exacerbating the problem as one of the largest industry emitters of greenhouse gases in the world.

As the Pentagon pushes through what many experts describe as likely irreversible impacts to the planet resulting from emissions, the service's plan is founded on one very Army word: mitigation.

The 50-page plan, which is an extension of the service's overall Army Climate Strategy released earlier this year, offers a series of ambitious goals to meet Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin's 2021 call to "immediately take appropriate policy actions to prioritize climate change considerations" as the Pentagon points to several instances of climate change-related events that have affected the services.

"Dangerous levels of greenhouse gases (GHG) have already accumulated in the Earth's atmosphere," the Climate Strategy Implementation Plan said. "While the Army cannot address all or even most GHG emissions, the right initiatives, investments, and policies can significantly reduce Army GHG emissions while at the same time enhancing readiness."

"In climate change terms, this is known as 'mitigation,'" it continued.

One area where climate change is causing challenges for the Army is by creating increasingly extreme weather.

"The effects of extreme weather exacerbated by climate change have already had profound impacts on the DOD," a Pentagon press release said Monday, going on to describe damages to military installations as a result of extreme weather and rising sea levels.

In 2018, Hurricane Michael demolished at least half of the structures on Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida, costing $5 billion to fix, according to the release, one example of the potential impact of extreme weather on military facilities.

The increase in extreme weather will also put a strain on the National Guard's disaster response abilities, the Pentagon said, as the country watched Guardsmen rescue people from extreme weather in Kentucky and Florida recently.

The Army also included an ominous warning about the broader risks that climate change poses for the military.

"Indeed, climate change has been described as a 'threat multiplier,'" the plan said. "Extreme drought and flooding will displace individuals and communities, increasing the potential for human conflict and the demand for Army humanitarian relief and disaster response at home and abroad."

"For the foreseeable future, climate impacts will disrupt Army activities and increase the frequency of crisis deployments," the plan added.

But in trying to explain the impact and countermeasures the military will take, the services have generally been reticent to address the scale of military emissions.

As of 2019, the military has released over 1,000 million metric tons of greenhouse gases since 2001, according to a study from Brown University's Watson Institute.

Federal Judge Halts New York’s New Law Limiting Concealed Carry of Firearms in “Sensitive” Locations, Says Key Provisions Are Unconstitutional

A federal judge on Thursday halted parts of New York’s new gun licensing law.

US District Judge Glenn Suddaby, a George W. Bush appointee said key provisions in Hochul’s new law limiting concealed carry of firearms in “sensitive” locations are unconstitutional.

The US Supreme Court in June struck down New York’s century-old law on carrying concealed weapons.

Prior to the Supreme Court’s ruling, the state could decide who it wanted to have this right and who it didn’t.

Democrat Governor Hochul signed into law a bill that limits concealed carry of firearms in “sensitive” locations in wake of the Supreme Court’s ruling.

“The new law lays out a strict licensing process to obtain a concealed-carry permit and a list of locations deemed “sensitive” — including Times Square — where firearm possession will be illegal, according to the legislative text. Other areas defined as sensitive include government-owned buildings, schools, health care facilities, places of worship and public transportation. People who carry a gun in a prohibited location could be charged with a felony under the law.” CNN reported.

“I just signed a new law to keep New Yorkers safe – even in the face of a monumental setback from the Supreme Court.” Hochul said in July.

Judge Suddaby said key provisions of New York’s new law are unconstitutional.

The judge gave New York “three days to seek emergency relief before a federal appeals court,” AP reported.

A federal judge halted key provisions Thursday of New York’s latest attempt to restrict who can carry a handgun in public and where firearms can be brought, saying multiple parts of a law the state passed this year are unconstitutional.

U.S. District Judge Glenn Suddaby focused on multiple parts of the law, saying licensing requirements — like a rule requiring applicants to turn over information about their social media accounts — went too far.

“Simply stated, instead of moving toward becoming a shall-issue jurisdiction, New York State has further entrenched itself as a shall-not-issue jurisdiction. And, by doing so, it has further reduced a first-class constitutional right to bear arms in public for self defense … into a mere request,” wrote Suddaby, who sits in Syracuse.

The ruling would keep restrictions in place that bar firearms from being carried into schools, government buildings and places of worship, but the judge said the state couldn’t ban guns from other sensitive locations, such as Times Square.

“All Hindawi journals employ a series of substantial integrity checks before articles are accepted for publication. Following thorough investigation, we identified that these irregularities in the peer review process were the result of suspicious and unethical activities. Since identifying this unethical activity and breach of our processes, we began proactively adding further checks and improving our processes and continue to do so,” Liz Ferguson, a senior vice president for John Wiley & Sons, Hindawi’s U.S.-based parent company, said in a Sept. 28 statement.

As a result of the investigation, 511 papers will be retracted.

EU Countries Agree to Train 15,000 Ukrainian Soldiers: Report

European Union member states have agreed to establish a training program for 15,000 Ukrainian soldiers in their territories, Der Spiegel revealed.

Final details of the European Union Military Assistance Mission will be negotiated next week in Brussels, followed by a decision on the 17th.

Mission headquarters will be located in Poland, while individual programs will run in other EU countries, the outlet added.

Among the participating nations, Germany has offered to train soldiers at a combat simulation center, including the training of “Ukrainian engineers, medics and other specialists,” Reuters wrote, citing the German outlet.

First Joint Training Effort

This is the first joint effort to train Ukrainian soldiers in multiple countries. Currently, the UK is the only foreign country training Ukrainian soldiers under Operation Interflex.

The UK program aims to train 10,000 new Ukrainian soldiers within a year across a network of British training sites. Around 5,000 soldiers had been trained under the program by June.

The program is a successor to Operation Orbital, which has trained 22,000 Ukrainian soldiers in the UK between 2015 and May this year, according to Politico.

More Fraud in COVID Relief Cash Giveaway; IRS Workers Steal $1 Mil to Buy Cars, Jewelry

Amid the rampant fraud and corruption in the government’s massive COVID-19 relief cash giveaway, Internal Revenue Service (IRS) employees have been charged with stealing over a million dollars from pandemic relief programs to buy luxury goods, fancy cars, and travel. Five current or former employees from the feared tax agency easily withdrew the money by filing several false loan applications with two of the federal stimulus programs— Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL)—launched under the monstrous Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, passed by Congress to provide over $2 trillion in “fast and direct economic aid” to Americans negatively impacted by the pandemic.

Not surprisingly, CARES is rife with fraud and corruption and the IRS employee scandal is simply the latest of countless examples. How bad is the problem? Last year the Department of Justice (DOJ) created a COVID-19 Fraud Enforcement Task Force to “enhance efforts to combat and prevent pandemic-related fraud.” The special unit has been quite busy prosecuting scams, false statements, and money laundering related to the multi trillion-dollar CARES Act. So far, criminal charges have been filed against more than 1,000 defendants and the loss of public funds exceeds $1.1 billion, according to the DOJ. Of those cases, the task force has prosecuted more than 150 offenders and seized over $75 million derived from fraudulently obtained PPP funds as well as numerous real estate properties and luxury items purchased with the illegally obtained money.

The sting is even greater when presumably trusted employees who work for American taxpayers commit the fraud as is the case with the IRS defendants. The scheme involves five current and former employees of the tax agency in Tennessee and Mississippi. Federal authorities say they used the illegally obtained pandemic relief funds to buy expensive designer clothes (Gucci), a fancy imported car (Mercedes-Benz), jewelry, trips to Las Vegas, manicures, and massages. The leftover cash was deposited into personal investment accounts. Each of the defendants submitted multiple fraudulent applications seeking at least tens of thousands of dollars in relief funds. An IRS Program Evaluation and Risk analyst submitted four fraudulent applications seeking more than half a million dollars. Another who worked as a program assistant in the agency’s information technology department, also submitted multiple applications seeking $338,900 on behalf of a fake fashion business. “These individuals – acting out of pure greed – abused their positions by taking government funds meant for citizens and businesses who desperately needed it,” said U.S. Attorney Kevin G. Ritz for the Western District of Tennessee.

This case is only a snippet of the widespread problem with the government’s insane pandemic cash handout. Just a few days ago, a federal audit revealed that billions of dollars in expanded COVID-19 unemployment insurance benefits funded under CARES have been stolen by fraudsters. The programs are known as Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA), Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC), and Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) and they have doled out an eye popping $663.8 billion in pandemic-related unemployment benefits as of April 23, 2022. An investigation by the Department of Labor (DOL) Inspector General found that around $45.6 billion was paid to applicants who did not qualify, a huge increase over last year’s $16 billion in fraudulent payments. Criminals used the Social Security numbers of the deceased or other illegal ploys to obtain the money, according to the audit which focused on four states. One of the states scrutinized by investigators improperly paid out $30.4 billion of its total $71.7 billion in unemployment benefits. “We estimated $9.9 billion of that was paid to likely fraudsters (13.8 percent),” the report states, adding that in the four states analyzed, one in five dollars initially paid in PUA benefits likely went to fraudsters. Yet the cash keeps flowing.

Telegram founder calls WhatsApp a 'surveillance tool'

Telegram's founder Pavel Durov has spoken out against WhatsApp's security vulnerabilities in the past.

Telegram founder and CEO Pavel Durov called the WhatsApp messaging service a "surveillance tool" on Thursday, claiming that the security issues periodically found on the app are actually intentionally planted.

"Hackers could have full access (!) to everything on the phones of WhatsApp users," began Durov's Telegram message. "This was possible through a security issue disclosed by WhatsApp itself last week. All a hacker had to do to control your phone was send you a malicious video or start a video call with you on WhatsApp."

Last month, WhatsApp notified that it had patched a vulnerability that could have allowed remote code execution through video files or video calls.

The Telegram founder warned that updating to the latest version of WhatsApp would "not really" keep you safe, as there have been a slew of similar vulnerabilities found in recent years.

"Every year, we learn about some issue in WhatsApp that puts everything on their users' devices at risk. Which means it's almost certain that a new security flaw already exists there," said Durov. "Such issues are hardly incidental – they are planted backdoors. If one backdoor is discovered and has to be removed, another one is added."

The Telegram CEO claimed that anyone who has WhatsApp on their phone is making all their data on that device accessible, adding that he deleted WhatsApp from his devices "years ago."

Durov stressed that he was not attempting to get people to switch to Telegram, saying "Telegram doesn't need additional promotion. You can use any messaging app you like, but do stay away from WhatsApp – it has now been a surveillance tool for 13 years."

Durov has warned against using WhatsApp in the past

This isn't the first time Durov has published statements against WhatsApp.

In May 2019, Durov published an article titled "Why WhatsApp will never be secure," writing at the time that "there hasn’t been a single day in WhatsApp’s 10-year journey when this service was secure."

Pavel and his brother Nikolai founded Telegram in Russia in 2013. Pavel was forced to flee Russia in 2014 after the government attempted to pressure him into releasing data about Ukrainian protest leaders from VK, another social media platform he and his brother helped develop.

Russia has tried in the past to force Telegram to share data or block certain channels, but Telegram has refused to do so.

Telegram's cyber vulnerabilities

Telegram has suffered from vulnerabilities which hackers have exploited as well.

Earlier this year, the Mandiant cybersecurity company reported that a malware called GRAMDOOR was being used by Iranian hackers as a command and control system to distribute malware to infected systems.

The Israeli cybersecurity company Check Point warned in 2021 that hackers were increasingly using Telegram as a command and control system to distribute malware. Even when Telegram isn't installed or being used on target devices, hackers can remotely send malicious commands and operations to targets via a Telegram "bot."

The tool used, called ToxicEYE RAT, only worked if the target was infected by a malicious file the bot can communicate with. The malicious file is usually sent through email campaigns.

In 2016, Iranian hackers managed to compromise over a dozen Telegram accounts, releasing the phone numbers of some 15 million Iranian users.

Hundreds of FBI employees investigated for sexual misconduct quit before being disciplined: report

One memo showed that more than 660 FBI employees retired or resigned after being investigated for sexual misconduct but before receiving a final disciplinary letter.

Sen. Chuck Grassley, the top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, sent a letter Thursday to Attorney General Merrick Garland after whistleblowers saying hundreds of FBI employees who were investigated for sexual misconduct quit before being disciplined.

The whistleblowers provided Grassley with an internal Justice Department memo, titled "Retirements and Resignations During Unwelcome Sexual Conduct Adjudications."

The document showed that from 2004 to 2020, over 660 FBI employees, including 45 top-level officials, retired or resigned after an internal probe into alleged misconduct but before receiving a final disciplinary letter.

The data does not include FBI employees who resigned or retired before an investigation was opened, so the most accurate number may be higher.

Grassley also said he received another department document, titled "Inconsistent Adjudication of Non-Consensual Sexual Misconduct." The document showed that higher-ranked FBI employees are "more likely to have their sexual misconduct case adjudicated" and are "subjected to lesser penalties" than lower-ranked employees.

"Simply put, these two documents show a systemic failure within the Justice Department and FBI to protect female employees from sexual harassment and sexual misconduct in the workplace and a failure to sufficiently punish employees for that same misconduct," Grassley wrote in the letter that was also addressed to FBI Director Christopher Wray.

The Iowa senator also asked for more data from the Justice Department so that he could better understand what changes, if any, have been made to address the issues in the FBI.

So with this being the official truth, why does United States Government data show that the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) awarded a contract on the 12th November 2019 to Labyrinth Global Health INC. for ‘COVID-19 Research’, at least one month before the alleged emergence of the novel coronavirus, and three months before it was officially dubbed Covid-19?

The shocking findings, however, do not end there. The contract awarded in November 2019 for ‘COVID-19 Research’ was not only instructed to take place in Ukraine, it was in fact part of a much larger contract for a ‘Biological threat reduction program in Ukraine’.

Perhaps explaining why Labyrinth Global Health has been collaborating with Peter Daszak’s EcoHealth Alliance, and Ernest Wolfe’s Metabiota since its formation in 2017.
