CNN Newsroom anchor Jim Sciutto has been placed on “personal leave” after the network told him to tend to a “personal situation.”
Sciutto last appeared on the Newsroom Monday. The anchor’s leave is reportedly related to a “serious fall” he took in Amsterdam earlier this year.
While traveling home from reporting on the war in Ukraine earlier this year, Sciutto and his producer stopped in the Dutch capital, where the fall occurred, according to the Daily Beast’s Confider. Sciutto was said to have recovered from the incident, but CNN launched an internal investigation.
The anchor’s absence is the latest in a string of CNN schedule shake-ups. Don Lemon recently lost his prime-time role and will be moved to a morning show. CNN also recently canceled Reliable Sources, which was hosted by Brian Stelter.
