Jordan: Should [gain of function research] be allowed?

Birx: I don't know all the details of gain of function research. I think the decision has been made with certain countries we do not do gain of function research.

Jordan: So definitely limit it with certain countries. Should American tax dollars be used to fund gain of function research?

Birx: That's a very big blanket statement…there are Class IV agents that we work with that are very deadly, that we worked for years to try to improve counter measures. That is not solely done within the United States, and obviously that would be part of gain of function because you are making changes to the virus to work on counter measures to control those viruses.

Jordan: Should we be sending American tax dollars to labs in China to do any kind of research?

Birx: There are critical investigations that we have supported in partnership with China, from HIV, and to work on controlling the pandemic in Asia…

Jordan: So you support sending American tax money to China to do potentially gain of function research?

Birx: Not gain of function research.

Jordan: I think that's what happened at this lab in Wuhan; it was actually gain of function research.

Army of GodPart II

The Army of God Manual is an anonymous document which was written by anti-abortionist members of the AOG and it is widely endorsed by them. According to the AOG website, the manual "is not to be construed as sanctioning any group or individual to perform any action.”[26]

The book, which consists of eight chapters and various appendices, delves into various pillars of their ideology and it is essentially a road map on how to commit violence against abortion clinics, abortion providers, and individuals who are associated with abortion. Parts of the book, specifically the appendices of chapters four, five and six, are not available for public consumption on the group's website due to federal laws. It is now in its third edition and the group refers to it as a historical document.[27]

The manual is available in its near entirety on the AOG's website which was formerly run by Donald Spitz. Spitz has no history of criminal activity, but he has historically used the website to publish short bios of high profile group members, publish anti-abortion propaganda, post photos of what are claimed to be bloody unborn fetuses that were aborted and he uses the website as a means to justify the actions of the group and incite others to support the Army of God and agree with what it stands for.[28]

Documentary

The AOG movement, along with a select group of individuals who are associated with it, are featured in the HBO documentary film Soldiers in the Army of God (2000), directed by Marc Levin and Daphne Pinkerson, as part of HBO's America Undercover series.[29]

New Mexico governor requests delay of DHS plan to send more migrants to Albuquerque

SANTA FE, N.M. — Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham sent a letter to U.S. Department of Homeland Security Sec. Alejando Mayorkas Tuesday, requesting the federal government delay planned or expanded efforts to transport migrants to New Mexico. She said the plan would dramatically affect the state’s capacity to provide ongoing humanitarian assistance to wildfire relief efforts.

The governor met with Mayorkas last month, where she requested additional wildfire disaster assistance from the federal government through the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The governor’s request was recently granted by President Joe Biden, who announced that the federal government will cover 100% of costs for emergency protective work and debris removal under New Mexico’s existing wildfire disaster declaration.

“The existing emergency arising from these wildfires has severely taxed the capacity of our state to provide resources to non-New Mexicans. I cannot allow the governments and communities of the state of New Mexico to shoulder additional burdens falling squarely within the federal government’s purview,” the governor wrote.
