Trump Speaks via Video at Rally of Conservatives in Spain
MADRID—Former U.S. President Donald Trump threw his weight behind Spain’s conservative party Sunday in a video shown at a rally in Madrid that also featured messages by the leading stars of Europe’s populist right like Italy’s Giorgia Meloni and Hungary’s Viktor Orban.
In a short recording, Trump thanked Spain’s Vox party and its leader Santiago Abascal for what he called the “great job” they do.
“We have to make sure that we protect our borders and do lots of very good conservative things,” Trump said. “Spain is a great country and we want to keep it a great country. So congratulations to Vox for so many great messages you get out to the people of Spain and the people of the world.”
Vox captured national attention on Spain’s political landscape in 2019 when it became the third-largest force in Spain’s Parliament after an election that led to a national left-wing coalition that still holds power.
Abascal returned the praise when he took to the stage at the outdoor venue after more video messages by European and South American right-wing politicians and an in-person speech by Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
“My thanks for President Donald Trump, a visionary in the fight for sovereign nations, a visionary in the fight for secure borders, who has had to suffer [attacks] from the most powerful establishment in the world and the largest media attack that any world leader has had to face in recent memory,” Abascal told the crowd of several thousand, many waving red-and-yellow Spanish flags.
The annual rally came just weeks after Abascal and the rest of Europe’s conservatives celebrated the victory of Meloni’s Brothers of Italy Party.
Meloni’s recorded message lasted several minutes and was focused on her priorities as she prepares to become Italian premier: pushing for a price cap on energy in the European Union and recovering economic self-reliance.
“We are not monsters, the people understand that. Long live Vox, long live Spain, long live Italy, long live Europe patriots,″ Meloni said. “Only by winning in our countries can Europe become a political giant that we want, and not a bureaucratic giant.”
Vox and its supporters are hoping that Meloni’s surge in Italy can spill over to Spain.
“Meloni’s victory has given us reasons to believe that this is possible and that our side is not as demonized in Europe as some want to make us believe,” said Francisco Hermida, a 25-year-old entrepreneur attending the rally.
Trump and other leading figures of the world’s popular right have been trying for years to weave together networks of support in what they describe as a winner-take-all struggle against the political left. Orban was in the United States recently to speak to leading conservatives there and met with Trump.
The Vox rally also featured video appearances by former Colombian President Álvaro Uribe, Chilean right-wing politician José Antonio Kast, the daughter of former Bolivian interim President Jeanine Añez, and U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas).
“On the one side, there is the global elites and the global left, that is growing evermore thuggish and violent, on the other side are conservative populist, who share the values of God, and country and family and freedom,” Cruz said. “Sometimes the left scores dangerous victories, as we saw in Colombia. Sometimes the good guys win, like we saw in Italy.”
Cruz said he is looking forward to a landslide Republican win in the U.S. congressional midterm election next month. Trump has been campaigning for right-wing candidates in the Nov. 8 election and is pondering another presidential run for the 2024 vote.

New Rule Requires Firearms Dealers to Disclose Buyer Information to Government
A new policy was implemented last week by the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS), which seeks to collect the addresses of gun purchasers in a bid to comply with new federal law.
Federally licensed firearms dealers (FFLs) will now be required to provide the FBI with the personal addresses of individuals who attempt to make a purchase but are denied or have a delayed transaction. The FBI will also provide local law enforcement with details of failed transactions, which include delayed transactions, as well as the personal information of rejected individuals. Earlier, firearms dealers only had to provide a purchaser’s state of residence rather than their full address in case of denial or delay.
The change in policy follows President Joe Biden signing the appropriations package for fiscal 2022 in March. The package contained the Violence Against Women Act Reauthorization Act (VAWA) which includes the NICS Denial Notification Act.
In an FBI email obtained by Gun Owners of America (GOA), the agency details how the new policy will be implemented.
“The NICS Denial Notification Act of 2022 requires the FBI’s NICS Section to notify state, local, or tribal law enforcement of all FBI NICS denied transactions within 24 hours. The FBI must provide notification to law enforcement based upon the location of the FFL and if different, the purchaser’s address,” the email states.
The FFLs must provide a buyer’s complete address to the NICS as recorded on the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) Form 4473 when transactions get “denied or delayed.”
“The address information will be required before the status can be provided or retrieved either by the NICS contracted call center or via the NICS E-Check.”

Overreach by the FBI?
The Central Texas Gun Works, a gun rights association, has slammed the new move, calling it unconstitutional.
In a Sept. 27 press release, Michael Cargill, owner of the group, questioned the mandate requiring FFLs to record addresses of customers whose transactions are merely delayed despite being ultimately approved for a firearm transaction.
Such a mandate was not set forth in the law passed by Congress, he pointed out. “Neither the ATF nor the FBI can act beyond authority of Congress and violate the Constitution by furthering the ultimate goal of creating an illegal firearms owner database,” Cargill said.
The FBI decision is the latest in a series of moves that gun owners say will curtail their rights. Last month, Visa announced that it is willing to join other credit card firms to tag firearms-related purchases. The National Rifle Association said Visa’s move is “eroding the rights of law-abiding Americans.”
According to a National Firearms Survey conducted last year by research firm Centiment, there are over 415 million firearms owned by Americans. Given that the country’s population is estimated to be 333 million, this would mean there are 1.25 firearms for every U.S. citizen.

Three Latino members of the Los Angeles City Council and a top county labor official held a conversation last fall that included racist remarks, derisive statements about their colleagues and council President Nury Martinez saying a white councilman handled his young Black son as though he were an “accessory,” according to a recording of the meeting reviewed by The Times.
Martinez, while discussing Councilman Mike Bonin’s child, said, “Parece changuito,” or “He’s like a monkey,” soon afterward.
A few minutes after Martinez discussed Bonin’s son, the topic of conversation moved to Los Angeles County Dist. Atty. George Gascón, who was facing growing political opposition.
“F— that guy,” Martinez said, followed by something inaudible. “He’s with the Blacks.”
Martinez later apologized for her racial slurs.

Biden’s DHS Gives Cellphones to over 255K Border Crossers, Illegal Aliens Released into U.S.
President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has given cellphones, with the intent of tracking their whereabouts, to more than 255,000 border crossers and illegal aliens released into the United States over the last year.
The data, published by DHS, reveals the extent to which the Biden administration has ballooned the size of the Alternatives to Detention (ATD) program to more easily and quickly released hundreds of thousands of border crossers and illegal aliens into American communities.
Hundreds of thousands more border crossers and illegal aliens are released into the U.S. interior with only Notices to Appear (NTA) in federal immigration court at later dates. Federal data has long suggested that a tiny fraction of border crossers and illegal aliens end up having valid asylum claims.
The latest ATD figures show that from October 1, 2021 to September 30, 2022, Biden’s DHS gave cellphones to monitor more than 255,000 border crossers and illegal aliens. The phones are meant to be used so the agency can track their locations. The phones cannot be used to search the internet or make other calls.
The cost to American taxpayers is more than $360,000 every day.
For comparison, just 26,000 border crossers and illegal aliens were given the cellphones for monitoring purposes in Fiscal Year 2021 — indicating the Biden administration has increased the use of the program by about 880 percent.
The number of border crossers and illegal aliens released on DHS’s “non-detained docket” now exceeds more than 3.3 million — a foreign population with no immigration status that is roughly seven times the population of Miami, Florida. As the data suggests, less than 10 percent of those border crossers and illegal aliens released into the U.S. interior are monitored by the agency.
Since Biden took office in late January 2021, his DHS has released about 1.35 million border crossers and illegal aliens into American communities — exceeding the populations of eight states.
In total, about 2.2 million border crossers and illegal aliens have arrived in the U.S. since Biden took office, including those who successfully crossed the border, undetected by Border Patrol agents.
Months ago, the Biden administration publicly defended their proposal to begin providing federal identification cards to border crossers and illegal aliens who they plan to release into American communities. The goal of the proposal is to make securing public benefits easier.

He also booked his jaw-dropping interview with Tucker Carlson against the advice of his team, according to insiders.
Since then he’s been firing consultants and advisers who have disagreed with him or resisted his ideas, sources said, which have widely been regarded as anti-Semitic or racist.
He’s also trying to hire a new team geared toward politics, and said he wants to focus on putting together a platform for a second presidential run in 2024. (Yesterday, he posted a baseball cap with “2024” printed on the brim.)
They also said that he’s been alienating confidants by using the same rhetoric in private that led him to publicly endorse the “White Lives Matter” slogan and tweet anti-Semitic remarks.
We’re told that friends are at a loss to find someone who can get through to the superstar and convince him to seek professional help or temper his outlandish and self-destructive behavior, and he’s even fought with longtime pals who have tried to calm him down.
West was hospitalized because of mental health problems in 2016 and in 2019 he said that he suffers from bipolar disorder.
Over the weekend, Instagram said that it was restricting West’s account because the company said he had violated its standards, and Adidas said his sneaker deal was under review.
