Fellow inmates planned to strangle Ghislaine Maxwell in exchange for money, her lawyers have claimed, as they pleaded for leniency at her sentencing for sex trafficking later this month.
“One of the female inmates in Ms Maxwell’s housing unit told at least three other inmates that she had been offered money to murder Ms Maxwell and that she planned to strangle her in her sleep,” her attorneys claimed.
“Ms Maxwell has to live with this threat every day that she is housed in the MDC and every day that she is incarcerated in the prison where she is designated.”

July 2005: The lawsuit is settled. Details of the settlement are confidential.
Summer 2005: Four former patients of Ayres’ come forward with new molestation charges against the doctor.
March 10, 2006: The San Mateo Police Department serves a search warrant on Ayres’ home. Police seize materials from his office and home.
October 2006: Court-appointed special master compiles a list of 800 former patients of Ayres’. Using the list, police contact patients to determine whether there were any molestation victims falling within the legal statute of limitations on such crimes.
