In 2002, after redistricting, Gabbard won the four-candidate Democratic primary with a plurality of 43% of the vote.
Gabbard then won the general election with 60.7% of the vote, defeating Republican Alfonso Jimenez.
At the age of 21, Gabbard became the youngest legislator ever elected in Hawaii's history and was at the time the youngest woman ever elected to a U.S. state legislature.

Russia adds Meta to list of 'terrorists and extremists'
'Russia's financial monitoring agency, Rosfinmonitoring, has added US tech giant Meta Platforms Inc. to its list of 'terrorists and extremists', the Interfax news agency has reported.
A Moscow court in June rejected an appeal by Meta - Facebook's parent company - after it was found guilty of 'extremist activity' in Russia in March. '

A member of the EU Parliament from the Netherlands, Dutch PM Rob Roos questioned the leading representative from Pfizer during an EU hearing. Mr. Roos asked Pfizer if the mRNA vaccine was ever tested to see if it blocked transmission of the virus. The question is important because it cuts to the heart of the issue surrounding the vaccine passport and various rules and regulations that were implemented against unvaccinated people. Pfizer admitted the vaccine was never tested to block transmission, ergo the premise of the vaccine passport was built on a lie. Both vaccinated and unvaccinated people could carry and shed the SARS-CoV-2 virus regardless of vaccination status. WATCH:
