Well, in what may be the best news to shellshocked bulls after the worst September and worst Q3 in generations, in a harrowing year for markets, central banks are starting to panic. First it was the BOJ, then the BOE and now, it's Switzerland's turn.

Two weeks ago after the (first) panicked pivot by the BOE, when global markets were in freefall, we said that markets desperately needed some words of encouragement from the Fed, or failing that - and with the dollar soaring to new all time highs every day - the Fed had to make some pre-emptive announcement on USD Fx swap lines, if only to reassure global markets that amid this historic, US dollar short squeeze, at least someone can and will print as many as are needed to avoid systemic collapse.

Fast forward two weeks when there still hasn't been any formal announcement from the Fed, but every so quietly - and just as we expected - the Fed shuttled $3.1 billion to the Swiss National Bank to cover an emergency dollar shortfall.

Chicago's Guaranteed Income Pilot Program Open To Illegal Immigrants

A Chicago-area guaranteed income pilot program will be open to illegal immigrants, who can apply for the chance to become one of 3,250 residents who will receive $500 per month in cash assistance for two years.

The only requirement for the program is that applicants must be adults residents of Cook County, and make less than 250% of the federal poverty level - or less than $69,375 for a house of four, Fox News reports.

Applicants will not be asked about citizenship status, according to the website.

"This pilot is open to all residents of Cook County, regardless of your immigration status. This means that if you are undocumented, or your household is a mixed-status household, and you meet the eligibility criteria above, you are eligible to participate," reads the program website, which specifically notes:

"We will not share information on immigration status with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) or with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services."

The program is being funded by the White House's American Rescue Plan designed to assist those impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

"When people in communities are struggling to make ends meet, the most helpful thing we can do is give them cash," said County Board President Toni Preckwinkle in a video advertising the program.

"Decades of research shows that participants use the cash benefits wisely."

FBI Counter Intel Supervisor Admits in Court that FBI Offered Steele Another $1 Million to Prove Dossier was Real But He Couldn’t – Lawless FBI Used It to Go After President Trump Anyway

A sixteen-member jury was selected on Tuesday and opening arguments were set for Tuesday afternoon in the trial of Igor Danchenko.

Danchenko a Russian national charged with five counts of making false statements to the FBI in regard to the origins of the Steele Dossier.

Sean Langille: During questioning from Special Counsel John Durham, Brian Auten, a supervisory counter intelligence analyst with the FBI, revealed the FBI offered Christopher Steele one million dollars if he could corroborate allegations in the Dossier, but that Steele could not do so. Auten repeatedly admitted under questioning from Durham that the FBI never got corroboration of the information in the Steele Dossier but used it in the initial FISA application and in the three subsequent renewals.

Amid that unrest, however, the Biden administration has largely refrained from offering any meaningful support, instead continuing negotiations with the Islamic Republic to revive the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which former President Barack Obama negotiated while Biden was his vice president.

"We have many concerns with Iran," a National Security Council spokesperson told Just the News earlier this month. "The JCPOA is the best way for us to address the nuclear problem. As long as we believe pursuing JCPOA talks is in U.S. national security interests, we will do so."

The protests and negotiations come amid a push by the Tehran regime to rapidly advance its nuclear arms development by accelerating its enrichment of uranium, making the situation all the more serious.

Australian Politicians Accepting Chinese Money

A political system rife with Chinese bribery, coercion, espionage and blackmail

Australia has been infiltrated. An investigation by Four Corners and Fairfax Mediatitled Power and Influence, broadcast June 5, uncovered how the Chinese Communist Party (ccp) has burrowed deep into the Australian political system. The program released startling information surrounding ccp-affiliated Chinese billionaire business people operating in Australia.

It exposed deep flaws in the Aussie political system and the erosion of political integrity by means of massive Chinese political donations.

ASIO Warning

The investigation was no shock to Australia’s security apparatus, which had already carried out investigations into ccp affiliates in Australia. At the conclusion of their own line of investigations, the director general of the Australian Security Intelligence Organization (asio) briefed the leadership of both the Liberal and Labor party.

The director apparently gave a dire warning that—while no law was being broken—there may be strings attached to political donations from China.

Both parties chose to ignore the warning and to this day receive big bags of cash from the Chinese. Surprise, surprise.

Our American allies are more concerned. United States Chairman of the Homeland Security Committee Michael McCaul told Four Corners, “Quite frankly, I was a bit surprised that Australia does allow foreign contributions. And if you look at the numbers—which I was privy to—a lot of these donations are coming from China.” He continued, “They want to influence Australia. They want a stronger presence in Australia and what better way to do that than to influence political figures through foreign contributions.”

Dr. Chau

The Four Corners program focused in on three personalities in Australia—all of whom live in the gray no-man’s-land between businessman and politician.

First was Dr. Chau Chak Wing. Chau is a wealthy property developer. He is also a very generous man.

He donated $20 million to construct a university building in Sydney. He gave $200,000 to a state branch of the Labor Party in Western Australia. He donated $560,000 to the Liberals in 2016. In the past decade, he has given $4 million to major parties. He also spent $70 million to buy Australia’s most expensive home.

Why?

None of this is illegal, but such substantial contributions should spawn a plethora of questions regarding Chau’s motives. Is it just enthusiasm that drives Chau to give, or is it the agenda of the shadowy ccp behind him that pushes his decisions?

Here is one thing to consider. Chau is a member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (cppcc). While officially separate from the government, detractors say the cppcc is a sham—a committee appointed to agree with party decisions. Either way, the cppcc grants Chau access to hobnob with the elites of China’s Communist regime, individuals with deep connections and unknown motives.

Mr. Huang

As is the case with Dr. Chau, little is known of Mr. Huang Xiangmo’s past. Apparently, he has a real “rags to riches” story. After building a property empire in rural China, Huang arrived in Australia in 2011. He didn’t spend long in obscurity after that.

He gave a whopping $770,000 in political donations before the 2013 election. Of course, it was merely coincidental that the campaign fundraising came right as the Australia-China trade deal was being signed.

At the 66-year ccp anniversary, Huang said, “We overseas Chinese unswervingly support the Chinese government’s decision to defend our national sovereignty and territorial integrity. We support the development of the motherland always ….”

This is the man whom you can—with a quick Google search—find socializing with multiple prime ministers, foreign ministers and senators.

Sheri Yan

The third party noted by Four Corners, Sheri Yan, is incarcerated proof of China’s high-level espionage. Yan was closely connected with influential families in China. Married to a former high-ranking Australian intelligence employee, Yan was scrutinized by asio. Following a raid on Yan’s home in 2015, they found all sorts of top-secret files on personal devices.

Intel To Fire Thousands Just Weeks After Biden Signs CHIPS Stimulus Bill

Intel - which is just days from becoming the target of some activist hedge fund campaign - is planning a "major reduction" in headcount, numbering in the thousands according to Bloomberg, to cut costs and cope with the suddenly disintegrating PC market.

The layoffs will likely be announced around the time the company reports its Q3 earnings on Oct. 27, said Bloomberg sources. And there will be quite a few to pick from: the chipmaker had 113,700 employees as of July, or a roughly 1 worker for every market cap in value (INTC's market cap closed at a 8-year-low of $102.8 billion today). Some divisions, such as Intel’s sales and marketing group, could see cuts affecting about 20% of staff, the report noted.

Besides the dismal macro environment which has crippled demand for PC processors, its main business, Intel has also struggled to win back market share lost to rivals like AMD and Nvidia. In July, the company warned that 2022 sales would be about $11 billion lower than it previously expected. Expect another ugly last-minute preannouncement, or even uglier Q4 and full year guidance. Analysts are predicting a third-quarter revenue drop of nearly 20%; meanwhile Intel’s once-enviable margins have also shriveled: amid the ongoing inventory liquidations and surging commodity prices, they’re about 15 percentage points narrower than historical numbers of around 60%.

During its second-quarter earnings call, Intel acknowledged that it could make changes in its business to improve profits. “We are also lowering core expenses in calendar year 2022 and will look to take additional actions in the second half of the year,” Chief Executive Officer Pat Gelsinger said at the time.

Intel’s last big wave of layoffs occurred in 2016, when it trimmed about 12,000 jobs, or 11% of its total. The company has made smaller cuts since then and shuttered several divisions, including its cellular modem and drone units. Like many companies in the technology industry, Intel also froze hiring earlier this year, when market conditions soured and fears of a recession grew. And now it is moving to the inevitable final stage of rightsizing: mass layoffs.

As Bloomberg notes, "it’s a particularly awkward moment for Intel to be making cutbacks. The company lobbied heavily for a $52 billion chip-stimulus bill this year, vowing to expand its manufacturing in the US. Gelsinger is planning a building boom that includes bringing the world’s biggest chipmaking hub to Ohio."

Well, so much for Biden's stimulus. Oh well, at least it can be redirected to support the pristine, uncorrupted administration in Ukraine.

US tensions with China also have clouded the chip industry’s future. The Biden administration announced new export curbs on Friday, restricting what US technologies companies can sell to the Asian nation.

David Zinsner, Intel’s chief financial officer, said after the company’s latest quarterly report that “there are large opportunities for Intel to improve and deliver maximum output per dollar.” The chipmaker expected to see restructuring charges in the third quarter, he said, signaling that cuts were looming.

What about others? Well, notable chipmaker competitors such as Nvidia and Micron have said they’re steering clear of layoffs for now, but expect that to change very soon. But other tech companies, such as Oracle Corp. and Arm Ltd., have already been cutting jobs.

Of course, none of this will impact the absolute datamockery which the BLS engages in every month and we fully expect the October jobs report, due just days before the midterm election, to show hundreds of thousands of farcically bullshit job gains. And just as predictably, once the midterms are in the rearview mirror and the government can again report the truth, we expect revisions will confirm that the US economy is currently losing several hundred thousand workers every month, a number which will only rise as the Fed triggers the worst global recession since the financial crisis.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg may have inadvertently admitted that the Western military alliance is at war with Moscow, at least in the eyes of former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. At issue is Stoltenberg’s statement on Tuesday that a military victory for Russia in Ukraine would be a defeat for NATO.

Medvedev called the comment “an open confirmation of NATO’s participation in the war against our country – an unwise, but pure-hearted remark. The honest Norwegian fellow has finally admitted it.”

Stoltenberg, formerly prime minister of Norway, made his comments in a press briefing as NATO ministers prepared to meet on Wednesday with Ukrainian Defense Minister Aleksey Reznikov. Among other issues, the ministers will discuss how to meet Kiev’s “urgent needs” and shore up their own weapons stockpiles after shipping billions of dollars’ worth of military aid to Ukraine in hopes of helping to defeat Russian forces.

Even the President for International Development Markets of Pfizer now admits that there was no scientific basis to say the vaccination would stop the transmission of the virus. And I find this one of the biggest scandals of our time. The politicians responsible for this will be angry that people are looking back at this time, but I won’t forget what they did to millions of people. And if we are a democracy, we should have accountability. And that’s what I’m calling for.
