Just to separate a little reality from the hype for a second:
Jesse had a performer on (last night) that openly said they'd walk right off the stage and find another gig if they saw a child in the audience. They also said that the performers that are doing these shows where there are kids present, at least a decent portion of them, are lower rung performers that do whatever work they can get, meaning at least some of them are surprised to even see the children there to begin with.
These drag show performers are booked by the women holding these brunches; think of them as groups like "Mom's morning out" type of things, but with venues where they can get a few drinks in and a "show" for the giggles. Normally it's upper middle (and up) class women (with their small kids in daycare) meeting up with other moms while hubby's at work; having some mimosas and some entertainment. Nothing wrong with it, just adults adulting and doing whatever in their privileged lifestyles. If it stopped right there, of course, there wouldn't be an issue. Seriously, who gives a shit if a bunch of privileges bints-turned-hosewives want to get a midday slosh and makeup show?
Apparently, however, it's now becoming a trend for some of these housewives to start bringing their small children to the bookings in a "show of solidarity" and to help "keep the kid's minds open" to the idea of alternative lifestyles. That's the sick part, and the thing that most are having a hard time with. Yes, some of the moms are surprised to see kids there. The problem is that none of the moms there, that are shocked by it, do or say anything about it. A normal mom would get up, interrupt the show, chug the rest of her mimosa (and her neighbors) and call everyone out for being child abusers while working towards the door (and grabbing, perhaps, one more mimosa off someone's table and chugging it).
Anons know the play, though, don't they? Someone is likely putting someone up to these events, and doing the sneaky shit for the very reaction they are currently getting; moms going along with it because "What if I say something and get ostracized?" This is how they target people to silence them. They know people would be afraid to speak up for fear of being labeled a bigot/intolerant.
Jesse promised to have a performer on his show that does not have an issue with kids at these performances. That will be the one to watch. We all know this all probably started off, like above, with a bunch of privileged bints giving hubby's cash to a dude in drag in an all-adult venue. Who cares, and it's nobody else's business, really. When they dragged the kids into it is when society goes "HEY HOLD THE FUCK UP A SECOND", and rightfully so. It should be interesting to see what sort of fucked up justification Jesse's next guest gives for doing this sort of shit in front of kids.
