TOTP expires quickly. using bluestacks android simulator and google authenticator for android on brave. Need a TOPT code almost every post. Google authenticator continuosly provides a code w/out delay tho. With Octave, I had to click several times or x out and open back up, some times several times, to get a new code.

Previously using octave I had to provide a code to bake, including the OP. The code lasted about 30 to 60 seconds, so I could post more than once if I hurried, but not more than the time allotted. If I click on create a new thread now, I see a slot for TOTP, but not for the key code. If I understand correctly, you must have the key code and the TOTP code to post? .

I still have to get a code for each post and don't see a key code box when I click on create a new thread, using the browser extension. The blue stacks w/google authenticator works w/less clicks for me.

I don't think the key code is expired necessarily, the key code box isn't present. You have a TOTP box, but not a key code box in the create a thread window. I believe you have to have both to post. You can post in this bread because you have a key code and a TOTP code. The create a new thread window isn't providing a necessary element for posting, the key code box.

It is permanent. Once the google authenticator is set up in bluestacks, I copied the key code into a notepad for safekeeping in case it's deleted or lost. It has however, remained permanent in my key code box, in the reply box since yesterday. As I understand it, the only key code that will work for you to be able to post, is the original key code used when setting up your authenticator. If you generate a new key code, the TOTP will not match and will return a invalid TOTP message. So the TOTP will change every so many seconds, but the key code is always the same. If you have deleted or lost it, what I did was uninstall the authenticator, reinstall with a new key code. Copy/paste into your notes and save and always use the same key code. However, when I click on create a new thread window, there is no key code box present, which is necessary to post. So tech needs to figure out why the key code box isn't present on the create a new thread window for anyone to be able to bake. Also, I added the authenticator to Brave browser, and now I have to paste the key code in every time I post. So, about to delete the extension authenticator and use the bluestacks and google authenticator, since it keeps the key code in the box. Much easier. About to test now.

After deleting the Brave extension, my key code is now staying in the box, so I don't have to keep copy/pasting it. So far bluestacks w/google authenticator is working for me. There is still the problem of the missing key code box in the create a new thread window tho. But bakers have baked since the authenticator change. I wonder if they had any problems or what changed.

I haven't baked since the google authenticator change. I baked right before it was announced but that was with the octave, which didn't require a key code if I remember correctly, all that was required was the TOTP from the octave authenticator.

Now if I x out of my reply box my key code is disappearing after I installed the browser extension, which I've now deleted. It's a hassle to refill the key code box each time, testing to see if it stays in the box if I don't x out. I may just delete google authenticator in my bluestacks and reinstall to retest and see if the code stays or may just add another 8kun account to the google authenticator already there, to see if it helps keep the key code in the box. I definitely miss having that key code remain permanent already and it was remaining in the box before adding the browser extension authenticator. Key code remained in the box on this second post. Will have to ck into this more tomorrow. Gotta catch some zzzzzz's gotta get up early tomorrow for wk. Good luck anons.

One moar…the key code stays in my box if I dont' x out of it, but if I x out it disappears and I have to copy/paste it from my notepad. Will reinstall tomorrow to see if that does anything.
