Justin Trudeau and His Comrades Seek to Abolish Internet Freedom for All Canadian Citizens
Since becoming Canada’s Prime Minister in 2015, Trudeau has embarked on a vigorous assault against Canadian citizens’ most cherished liberties to the point the nation is barely recognizable. Now he and his ruling Liberal Party will soon deliver the final blow with a piece of legislation his late family friend Fidel Castro would have loved.
The bill, known as the Online Streaming Act (Bill C-11), would require major international technology companies that conduct business in Canada to subsidize local Canadian content. Viewers would essentially be forced to view material online promoted by Big Brother regardless of their personal desires. Conservatives who want to view a Fox News video on YouTube, for example, also might have to view content by the far-left Canadian Broadcasting Company (CBC).
The legislation also expands the authority of the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) to regulate the internet in addition to phones, radio, and television. The CRTC is made up of nine unelected bureaucrats appointed by Trudeau who already displayed their illiberal nature earlier this year when they revoked Russian Television’s broadcasting license at the request of the prime minister. The bureaucrats would be able to remove content online from prominent places where millions of Canadians rely on for their news such as TikTok, Facebook and YouTube. Conservative Canadian websites such as the Rebel and Canada Free Press would almost certainly find their content censored on those websites by government authorities given how much they have criticized Trudeau.
C-11 passed the Canadian House of Commons in June and just passed a second reading in the Senate. The legislation’s final passage may only be a few days away.

C-11 could create the most authoritarian regulatory framework of any democracy in the world. This makes it a grave threat to overall freedom of expression in Canada. Nearly as reprehensible as the implications of the legislation itself are the tangled thicket of unclear or self-contradictory language within the bill and the evident insincerity and misdirection in the government’s public promotion of C-11. In short, the Liberals are attempting a colossal power grab while pretending they aren’t.
There is absolutely no difference between what the Liberals are proposing with C-11 and what communist nations such as Cuba and Venezuela have already done to silence the opposition. One could even argue Trudeau drew inspiration from Castro’s tyrannical regime and thought Canada would perform better as a leftist dictatorship. He has shown his red colors time and again.

150+ Researchers Funded By US Govt. Now Work For Chinese Communist Party, Report Finds.
Over 150 Chinese-born scientists conducting taxpayer-funded research in the U.S. are now working at Chinese Communist Party-run laboratories, often on technologies with military applications.
The findings are contained in a private intelligence report conducted by the software development firm Strider, which was obtained by NBC News. When questioned by NBC about the report’s concerning findings, the Department of Energy (DOE) emphasized that “international collaboration is critical to its efforts” and declined to answer any specific questions.
The report identifies over 150 Chinese-born scientists who have worked on taxpayer-funded projects at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in the last two decades now conducting “sensitive” research in China. Some of the research presently occurring in China has “military application, [including] hypersonic missiles, deep earth-penetrating warheads, [and] quiet submarines.”
Based in New Mexico, the laboratory is a project of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) that traces its roots to World War II, as it was launched for designing nuclear weapons such as the atomic bomb.
Despite being a key institution for America’s national security, the laboratory appears to have deep ties to the Chinese Communist Party and its military. The relationship is “supercharging China’s threat to American national security,” argues the report.
Zhao Yusheng, for example, was a researcher at Los Alamos for 18 years, collecting over $20 million worth of taxpayer-funded research grants. Zhao also received a top-secret “Q-level” clearance, allowing him to lead a defense project that developed bombs that penetrate underground.
In 2016, however, Zhao joined a talent recruitment program and research center run by the Chinese Communist Party as well as becoming Vice President at China’s Southern University of Science and Technology, which conducts defense research. 15 researchers from Los Alamos are affiliated with the university, including its current president.

Instagram outage leaves thousands of users locked out of their accounts
Thousands of Instagram users got an unwelcome Halloween scare as their accounts were blocked or suspended.
One user said the Mark Zuckerberg-owned site had asked for their email and phone number to get the suspended account to work again.
“We’re aware that some of you are having issues accessing your Instagram account. We’re looking into it and apologize for the inconvenience,” Instagram said on its Twitter account Monday.
The Post has sought comment from Instagram and its parent company, Meta Platforms Inc.
Nearly 7,000 users of Instagram were impacted, according to outage-tracking website Downdetector, which collates status reports from a number of sources including user-submitted errors on its platform.
The outage may be affecting a much larger number of users.
Several Instagram users posted screenshots on their Twitter accounts showing that they were logged out of their accounts without explanation — even after appealing their suspension.
One Instagram user tweeted: “Some of us had to put in our email and phone number to verify the account. Now the password has been changed and we can’t get back in because our password has been changed.”
Another frustrated Instagram user wrote on Twitter: “It’s not just down — you’re suspending accounts and threatening deletion!!”
The glitch appears to be affecting high-profile Instagram account holders such as soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo.

Trump Org ‘cheated’ on taxes for 15 years, prosecutors say at NYC trial
The Trump Organization cheated tax authorities for 15 years by bankrolling big perks for top executives — including apartments and luxury cars, Manhattan prosecutors said as the real estate company’s criminal trial got underway Monday.
Former President Donald Trump’s firm used the perks to pay its executives — without reporting those benefits — as part of an alleged scheme to avoid paying taxes between at least 2005 and 2021, Assistant District Attorney Susan Hoffinger said in her opening statements in Manhattan Supreme Court.
“This case is about greed and cheating, cheating on taxes,” Hoffinger told jurors.
“The scheme was conducted, directed and authorized at the highest levels of the accounting department at the company.”
The ex-president’s namesake company benefited from the alleged plot by keeping its “trusted” chief financial officer, Allen Weisselberg, happy and avoiding some taxes, the prosecutor said.
“Everybody wins here,” Hoffinger said. “Of course, everybody but the tax authorities. The problem with doing it this way is that it’s not legal.”
The case is expected to largely hinge on the prosecution’s star witness, Weisselberg, who agreed to testify after pleading guilty in August to fraudulently accepting $1.7 million “off the books” from the company.

Russia Suspected of Learning About Top Secret Arms Shipments After Hacking PM’s Phone
A suspected Russian hack of former Prime Minister Liz Truss’ phone is thought to have leaked top-secret details regarding arms shipments.
Up to a year’s worth of conversations are thought to have ended up in Russian hands after the phone of former Prime Minister Liz Truss was hacked, jeopardising details of secret correspondence and arms shipments to Ukraine.
The nature of the attack, which was claimed in a report by the Mail on Sunday, has been branded as being extremely serious by UK parliamentarians across the political spectrum as tensions between Westminster and the Kremlin remain high.
According to the report, Truss’ phone is thought to have been hacked back when she was serving as foreign secretary, with the security breach being discovered during the first Conservative Party leadership race held this year.
As a result of the hack, which is suspected to have been perpetrated by agents operating on behalf of the Russian Federation, sensitive conversations between Truss and foreign dignitaries are thought to have been leaked.
Private conversations between the then minister and her main ally, Kwasi Kwarteng, during which they criticise then Prime Minister Boris Johnson are also thought to have been leaked, with it being feared that the material could have been used to blackmail the then Foreign Secretary.
It is claimed details of arms shipments being sent to Ukraine were on the phone, a matter of concern given the Vladimir Putin administration has previously said that all NATO shipments of weapons to the country are considered by the Kremlin to be legitimate military targets.
The hacked device is now reportedly being kept in a locked safe in a secure location in an effort to prevent further secrets from being leaked.
Politicians with both Britain’s Tory and Labour parties have issued warnings surrounding news of the hacking, with former Conservative Party leader Ian Duncan Smith saying that people are “too casual” about their phones, while Labour’s Shadow Foreign Secretary, Yvette Cooper, describing the security breach as “extremely serious”.
The UK’s Ministry of Defence has been keen to deny the accusation, attacking Russia for making “false claims of an epic scale”.

Biden Admin’s Record of Migrant Deaths at Border Grossly Understated, Says Source
A CBS report of record-setting migrant deaths along the U.S.-Mexico Border may be grossly understated, a source with U.S. Customs and Border Protection told Breitbart Texas. The report is based on the remains of 853 migrants recovered by Border Patrol agents.
At least 853 migrants died while crossing or shortly after crossing the Mexican border into the United States during the past 12 months, CBS reported. The report is based on internal Border Patrol data obtained by the news outlet.
The 853 known deaths represent a 56 percent increase over the 546 known recoveries in FY21. These 1,399 deaths during the Biden Administration already exceed the Trump era total of 1,126.
However, a source working under the umbrella of CBP told Breitbart Texas these numbers are grossly understated and especially do not reflect recoveries on both side of the border.
“They also do not include known migrant deaths where the remains are not recovered by Border Patrol agents,” the source told Breitbart Texas on Sunday.
These deaths include dozens of cases on private property where local law enforcement make first contact, he explained. They also do not include many of the migrants who died in vehicle crashes or during transit due to exposure to extreme heat.
“If Border Patrol was not involved in the recovery, the decedent is not included in Border Patrol reports,” the source explained.
One example is the deaths of 53 migrants in a tractor-trailer in San Antonio, Texas, in June. Human smugglers left the migrants locked in the rear of the trailer with no fresh air or means of escape.
Police pursuits of human smugglers can also lead to deaths not included in Border Patrol reports. In September, several migrants died in crashes where smugglers were fleeing law enforcement or were simply driving recklessly in overloaded vehicles.
“The reports also do not include any migrants’ deaths where the bodies or remains are recovered by Mexican authorities,” the source added.
As an example, Breitbart Texas reported the deaths of 13 from an illegal border crossing attempt near Eagle Pass. The report includes at least three recoveries by Mexican authorities.
In Brooks County, Texas, Sheriff Benny Martinez’s deputies are also facing a record number of migrant deaths — some are included in Border Patrol numbers while others are not.
“The ruthless human smugglers do not care about the lives they put in danger every single day in our county,” Sheriff Martinez told Breitbart. “Smugglers frequently abandon migrants in the arid ranchlands and leave them to die. They also put their lives at risk along our highways.”
Earlier this month, two migrants died and 12 others were injured as a human smuggler lost control of an overloaded pickup truck, Breitbart reported. In July, another migrant died after being struck by a passing vehicle as he attempted to flee from Texas DPS troopers.

Israel must get rid of its nuclear weapons, UNGA majority decides
Israel never admitted to possess nuclear weapons, but nevertheless, the UNGA resolution was aimed at Israel, not Iran.
Israel must dispose of all its nuclear weapons and place its nuclear sites under the International Atomic Energy Agency’s purview, the United Nations General Assembly’s First Committee stated in an initial 152-5 vote.
The five nations that opposed Friday’s resolution on the “risk of nuclear proliferation in the Middle East” were: Canada, Israel, Micronesia, Palau and the United States. Another 24 countries abstained, including European Union members.
The annual resolution submitted by Egypt to the UNGA in New York was sponsored by the Palestinian Authority and 19 counties including Bahrain, Jordan, Morocco and the United Arab Emirates.
Targeting Israel but not Iran
The resolution largely targets Israel, which is believed to be one of only nine nations to possess nuclear weapons. Israel has never admitted to having such weapons.
The resolution notes that Israel is the only country in the Middle East and one of the few among the UN’s 193 member states, which has not signed the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons Treaty (NPT).

The great paradox – and shame – of the New York Times, Washington Post, and many other prestigious news outlets is that they are brimming with top-notch reporters and editors who consistently produce stellar work. Yet, that distinguished journalism stands as a stark indictment of their political coverage, which insistently betrays the best traditions of the profession. It’s not a bug, it’s a feature.
They know that Hillary Clinton’s campaign manufactured the false claim embraced and amplified by the highest levels of the Department of Justice and the FBI that Donald Trump conspired with the Russians to steal the 2016 race. Instead of working to expose this massive effort at election denial, they advanced the conspiracy theory for years before working to cover up the truth as it emerged.
They know that significant questions surround the business dealings of President Biden’s son Hunter and his brother James – including evidence from their former business partner that the president himself lied about and profited from these deals. Instead of using their vast resources and talent to probe this alleged malfeasance, they have largely ignored the mounting evidence of corruption.
Instead of shining a light, they have intentionally kept their audiences in the dark regarding stories of the greatest consequence. (No doubt those readers were surprised to learn this week about record early voting in Georgia since the state’s new voting law had been described to them as “Jim Crow 2.0.” Likewise, they were probably shocked to learn that despite the plague of “systemic racism” in the U.S. health care system, whites are now more likely to die from COVID than African Americans.)
One can only wonder how those readers are responding to the polls which increasingly suggest big Republican victories in next month’s elections. Yes, the out-of-power party usually thrives in off-year midterms. But this anticipated red wave is taking place after most mainstream news sources have relentlessly cast the GOP as the second coming of the Third Reich.
For months, Democrats and their powerful media allies have been treating Jan. 6 as if was Pearl Harbor or 9/11, issuing thousands of fearsome reports across their home pages and airwaves. The president created a bogeyman label – MAGA Republicans – which mainstream reporters have echoed to frame the coming midterms as a battle to save democracy.
No rational American who believes what they read and hear in the New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Associated Press, NPR, NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, The Atlantic, The New Yorker (and on and on and on) could possibly support the GOP. “If you care about the future of America, democracy and your own rights,” USA Today columnist Jill Lawrence declared, “don’t vote for Republicans. Any of them.”
Their house-on-fire coverage bludgeons Americans with the message that fascism and white supremacy are the real ballot measures at stake in the midterms and that our nation will become an authoritarian hellhole if Democrats do not prevail. In their telling, no decent person could vote for these monsters.
This message is not just false, it is despicable. It reflects a deep contempt for the American people. We are not a nation of haters. The vast majority of us hold sacred the rule of law under the Constitution. The mob who attacked the Capitol on Jan. 6 are a fringe minority. Those who argue otherwise, which includes most Democrat leaders and their lackeys at prestigious news outlets, are the greater danger. They insistently demonize their opponents and divide the nation. Their constant alarms about a brewing Civil War sound more like a desire for conflict than a warning.
If the polls are correct, the looming midterms may prove to be a reaffirmation of the wisdom of the crowd. Despite the relentless propaganda spewed by elite news organizations, the American people can still identify the issues that matter: runaway inflation and high interest rates, violent crime, an insecure border, and the excesses of woke ideology. The challenges they face in their daily lives define reality far more than the ideological fantasies they are told to believe.

Supreme Court Says Federal Government CAN Enforce Masks on Airplanes
The US Supreme Court on Monday allowed a ruling to stand that gave the TSA the authority to require travelers wear masks on airplanes during the Covid pandemic.
The DC District Court of Appeals previously ruled the TSA had the authority to require travelers wear masks.
A California lawyer sued to challenge the mask requirement on airplanes and trains (Corbett v. TSA) and lost.

The US Supreme Court let stand a ruling that said the Transportation Security Administration could require airline passengers to wear masks during the height of the pandemic, keeping in place a precedent issued by a key federal appeals court.
The US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit ruling said TSA has broad authority to maintain security and safety during national emergencies. TSA scrapped its mask mandate in April after a federal judge in a different case said the requirement exceeded the agency’s power.
The Supreme Court order is a defeat for Jonathan Corbett, a California lawyer and self-described frequent flier who sued to challenge the mask mandate. He asked the Supreme Court to either take up his appeal or declare the case legally moot and wipe away the DC Circuit opinion so it couldn’t serve as a precedent.
Biden implemented the federal travel mask mandate in 2021.
In a separate case earlier this year, a Trump-appointed federal judge struck down Biden’s travel mask mandate.
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) lifted the mask mandate in response to the federal judge’s ruling.

The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) and four central banks have completed a successful pilot of the use of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) by commercial banks for real-value transactions across borders, as part of Project mBridge.
The BIS Innovation Hub Hong Kong Centre joined forces with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, the Bank of Thailand, the Digital Currency Institute of the People’s Bank of China and the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates. As detailed in a new report, 20 banks in the four jurisdictions used the mBridge platform to conduct 164 payment and foreign exchange transactions totaling over $22 million over six weeks, settled directly on the platform.
Project mBridge envisions an efficient, low-cost, regulatory-compliant and scalable cross-border payment solution with CBDC at its core. The experiment was designed to operate across different jurisdictions and currencies, to explore the capabilities of distributed ledger technology and the application of CBDC in cross-border payments between commercial banks.
The project is part of the ongoing efforts to experiment with new technologies to deliver faster, cheaper and safer cross-border payments and settlements, a priority identified by the G20. Many jurisdictions, in particular emerging and developing economies, are losing access to the international network of correspondent banking services, leaving many households and firms without sufficient or affordable access to the global financial system for payments.
By enabling peer-to-peer and instant exchange of multiple CBDCs on a single network, Project mBridge aims to solve long-standing inefficiencies in cross-border payments and foster greater financial inclusion and innovation in international payments.
“Financial exclusion is not just a problem for individuals; it is also affecting economies,” says Cecilia Skingsley, Head of the BIS Innovation Hub. “This project makes important strides towards developing a platform that has the potential to foster more inclusive and efficient payments systems that will benefit those making and receiving payments in different currencies and jurisdictions as well as the overall functioning of the global financial system.”
The BIS will continue to work on this and similar projects to explore the user requirements, technical specifications, and governance framework needed for interoperable CBDCs. The mBridge project team will continue building the technology and testing it with a view to producing a product with enough features to be used by early adopters in the year ahead and a production-ready system thereafter.
The results of the pilot are to be presented at Hong Kong Fintech week, running from 31 October to 4 November, along with two other Hong Kong Centre projects:
Project Aurum, conducted with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the Applied Science and Technology Research Institute, created a prototype technology stack comprised of a wholesale interbank system and a retail e-wallet system. The system brings to life two different types of retail tokens: intermediated CBDC and CBDC-backed stablecoins. The latter is unique in the study of CBDC to date, backing the stablecoin with CBDC held in the interbank wholesale system. The source code is being made available in the BIS Open Tech platform, thus accessible to central banks exploring the best possible architecture for a retail CBDC.
Project Genesis 2.0 demonstrates the technical feasibility of tokenised green bonds associated with so-called carbon forwards, or mitigation outcome interests. These are digitally tracked and automatically delivered to investors, as explained in a report. Genesis 2.0 is a collaboration between the BIS Innovation Hub’s Hong Kong Centre, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, the UN Climate Change Global Innovation Hub and private sector partners.
