LONDON, Nov 16 (Reuters) – Britain has selected a Harland & Wolff-led consortium to build three Royal Navy support ships under a 1.6 billion pound ($1.9 billion) contract that will create 1,200 jobs in UK shipyards, including in Belfast where final assembly will take place.

The consortium, which comprises ship designer BMT, Harland & Wolff and Navantia UK, was appointed preferred bidder to deliver the three support vessels that will provide munitions, stores and provisions to the Royal Fleet Auxiliary’s aircraft carriers, destroyers and frigates, the government said on Wednesday.

The consortium’s proposal included a 77 million pound investment into UK shipyards and aims to deliver an additional 800 jobs in the supply chain.

“Building on ambitions laid out in the National Shipbuilding Strategy, this contract will bolster technology transfer and key skills from a world-renowned shipbuilder, crucial in the modernisation of British shipyards,” Defence Secretary Ben Wallace said in a statement.

The vessels – each the length of two Premier League football pitches – will be the second longest military ships after the two Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carriers.

Production will start in 2025, with all three ships expected to be operational from 2032, the government said.

Nearly three years since the world first heard of COVID-19, societies across the globe are still reeling from prolonged lockdowns and harsh social restrictions, which many governments implemented in order to supposedly “stop the spread” of the virus. Britain is no exception, and while the full long-term impact of such measures remains unknown, some grueling effects are already painfully apparent.

Patients receiving care for cancer, cardiovascular, and respiratory disease were prevented from accessing routine treatment; rates of clinical depression and mobile phone addiction among university students skyrocketed; adults of all ages reported worsening mental health conditions; and the number of Britons seeking help for drug addiction increased by 81% between 2020 and 2021.

Meanwhile, school closures exposed Britain’s youth to food insecurity and increased likelihood of falling victim to domestic abuse, while the rapid digitization of education further widened learning gaps between wealthy and low-income students in the country.

“We were mesmerized by the once-in-a-century scale of the emergency and succeeded only in making a crisis even worse. In short, we panicked,” lamented Professor Mark Woolhouse, an Edinburgh University epidemiologist, in January 2022.

As with many contemporary critics of the British government’s initial “Zero COVID” strategy, Woolhouse argued a targeted response to protect the most vulnerable members of society, such as the elderly, would have done more to curb Britain’s death toll than blanket, nationwide lockdowns.

“This was an epidemic crying out for a precision public health approach and it got the opposite,” he explained.

That's the thing, aint it? We know there were tunnels under the Corinthia during WW2. I may have a go at the urbex websites again, see if I can find vids of abandoned tubeways in the area. I would not be surprised if a Victorian sewer had been blocked off by later construction but was used by the bad guys for something nefarious

London has many secrets lurking beneath its busy streets - some open to the public and some very much secrets that have been forgotten. London is rumored to be home to one of the greatest secret tunnels systems in the world and even no one fully knows what's down there. Among London's many subterranean mysteries lay many abandoned subway stations.

The official site "Transport for London" states

"There are 272 functioning stations across our network, but at least 40 Overground and Underground stations still in existence are no longer used for travel."

They go on to explain that these stations have been closed for a variety of reasons including, re-routing, low passenger numbers, among other reasons.

While many of these stations are closed, some were never opened to the public in the first place. Some may not be served by the Underground but still remain open to the National Rail mainline services.

Number of Abandoned Stations: 40 Including Both Underground and Overground

Many of the abandoned stations were originally planned as part of new lines or extensions to existing ones but were later abandoned. Some of the stations have been demolished and others have been redeveloped. One can find a full breakdown of the stations on Abandoned Stations.org

For those with too much time on their hands, one can research the abandoned stations by going through the Corporate Archives Collections section of the Transport for London website.

Charing Cross Underground Station Tours

Charing Cross is also one of the most famous stations of the London Underground network. On this tour, one will go behind closed doors to various exclusive areas not accessible to the general public. And one will find oneself walking under Trafalgar Square.

The Jubilee line platforms have been closed to the public since 1999 but one has likely seen them on TV. Perhaps one has seen its eerily underground locations for blockbuster films like the Bond hit Skyfall and even Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World.

‘World class’ London hotel proposed for site with secret tunnel to Harrods

Iconic luxury retailer Harrods could be making a move into the hospitality market as rumours of the brand’s first hotel development circulate.

Planning permission has been granted for the creation of a £300m luxury hotel on the site of an NCP car park that is connected to Harrods via a secret tunnel.

The freehold site was acquired in 2013 by Singapore-based Kwek Leng Beng’s CDL property group for £85m, and had residential planning consent.

Beng is also chairman of Millennium & Copthorne Hotels.

Harrods is owed by Qatar Investment Authority, which for years has teased ambitions to take the department store brand global by building upmarket hotels bearing its name in cities around the world, including London.

Speculation is that this new development could become the debut Harrods Hotel in the capital.

However, a spokesperson for Harrods told Boutique Hotelier: “There is a historic tunnel on this site, however it has been blocked up for twenty years – it will remain blocked up and will offer no access to Harrods.”

The new hotel development plan comprises 120 bedrooms over eight floors, plus 23,000 sq ft of space at ground level across three basement levels which is to house a spa and retail units. It is expected to take 30 months to complete.

It is being designed by Tim Hamilton of UK-based Hamilton Architects.

Speaking to The Times, David Ashcroft, 60, chief executive of Dartmouth, representing the developers, said the car park had been built on the site of a former Harrods clearing warehouse. “When we bought the site we knew from the legal documents that there was a tunnel but it had been blocked up at both ends. We only found the entrance last week and informed Harrods of that. It’s in remarkably good condition, still green Harrods carpets and lots of Harrods signs.”

Ashcroft declined to comment on whether Harrods might be interested in running it as a Harrods hotel. “I think you can be assured that a world class brand will be occupying it.”

Abandoned London Underground station where man, 20, tragically died and wasn't found until 3 weeks later

Even today relics of this era remain with those lucky enough to get a tour around the underground section of the station reporting seeing discarded 1940s machinery and even a propaganda projection screen on the end wall of one platform, presumably used for wartime workers in the building to watch. All this existing just meters from Piccadilly line riders everyday as they pass through the bricked up station.

After the war the station was used both by the Territorial Army and the Ministry of Defence, although much of the old station building on the surface was demolished in 1972. Thankfully one easily recognisable façade does remain on Brompton Road, its red-glazed terracotta design a familiar one found at many older Tube stations.

The station met with tragedy in 1994 though when a mechanical engineering student at University of London Royal Naval Unit went missing in the Kensington area following a Christmas Party. Three weeks later, 20-year-old Sean Harper was found dead at the bottom of one of the old Brompton Road Station's 80ft lift shafts.

The Christmas party was being held in the services training base in the building above the station, Sean having disappeared at the end of the party. Cars in the unit's basement were found vandalised, with glass from these car's windows in Sean's feet. Investigators never managed to uncover how Sean ended up at the bottom of the lift shaft though, with the only access from the roof of the building.

The Independent reported at the time of Sean's inquest that the British Transport Police's investigating officer Det Insp Alan Wilson said: "This has been the most frustrating inquiry I've worked on. We have done so much, but there's a period between 6am and 7am that we can't account for.

Brompton Road

Brompton Road is another abandoned Piccadilly line Underground station.

Open to passengers from 1906 to 1934, the station was located between Knightsbridge and South Kensington - but low passenger numbers ultimately made it unviable.

The station was closed in July 1934, following the redevelopment of nearby Knightsbridge station.

Lisbon - Global police agency Interpol confirmed it had issued a red notice for Angolan billionaire Isabel dos Santos, daughter of the country's former president Jose Eduardo dos Santos, asking global law enforcement authorities to locate and provisionally arrest her.

Dos Santos, who has repeatedly denied wrongdoing, has faced corruption accusations for years, including allegations by Angola in 2020 that she and her husband had steered $1 billion in state funds to companies in which they held stakes during her father's presidency, including from oil giant Sonangol.

Portugal's Lusa news agency reported on 18 November that Interpol had issued an international arrest warrant for dos Santos. But Interpol told Reuters it had issued a red notice instead, at the request of Angolan authorities.

It explained that a red notice was "not an international arrest warrant" but a "request to law enforcement worldwide to locate and provisionally arrest a person pending extradition, surrender, or similar legal action".

A source close to dos Santos said on 19 November that she had yet to be notified by Interpol. A spokesperson for dos Santos did not immediately reply to a Reuters request for comment.

According to Lusa, an official document related to the request made to Interpol mentions that dos Santos is often in Portugal, Britain and the United Arab Emirates.

The same document cited by Lusa said dos Santos, 49, was wanted for various crimes, including alleged embezzlement, fraud, influence peddling and money laundering.

Dos Santos has given interviews recently, telling CNN Portugal on Tuesday, that the courts in Angola were “not independent" and judges there were "used to fulfil a political agenda".

Study Finds Prejudice Against COVID-19 Unvaccinated Around The World

People who have received COVID-19 vaccines express discriminatory attitudes toward unvaccinated people, a new study of over 15,000 citizens of 21 countries across the world suggests.

“Individuals who comply with the advice of health authorities morally condemn the unvaccinated for violating a social contract in the midst of a crisis,” two Denmark-based scientists wrote in their paper, published Thursday in Nature.

“Those who refuse vaccines report that they feel discriminated and pressured against their will.”

To measure COVID-19 vaccination status-based prejudice, researchers asked some 15,233 people how they feel if a close relatives of theirs are going to marry a vaccinated or unvaccinated person—a question that has long been used in surveys on discrimination along racial, ethnic, or partisan lines.

Specifically, participants were presented with brief descriptions of a series of fictitious individuals and asked to imagine that these are people whom one of their close relatives intends to marry. They were shown two profiles at a time, side by side, and asked to rate each profile by saying whether they agree or disagree with statements such as, “I would be unhappy if this person married one of my close relatives,” and “I think this person is untrustworthy.”

One of the six attributes describing these targeted individuals has been their COVID-19 vaccination status, randomly varying between “fully vaccinated” and “unvaccinated.” The other attributes were age, occupation, hobbies, personality, and “family background,” which distinguished between people “born and raised in [the respondent’s country]” and people who “immigrated from the Middle East.”

The Findings

Across six countries—Germany, India, Indonesia, Morocco, South Africa, and the United Kingdom—selected to represent both affluent Western and developing non-Western nations, the unvaccinated were found to be disliked among vaccinated people (14 percentage points) as much as people with drug addiction (15 percentage points), and significantly more so than people who had been in prison (10 percentage points), atheists (7 percentage points), or people with mental illness (6 percentage points).

In addition, the overall dislike of the unvaccinated among vaccinated people (13 percentage points) was found to be two and a half times greater than that of Middle Eastern immigrants (5 percentage points). In fact, according to the paper, unvaccinated people face significantly more hostility than immigrants even in 10 countries that are deemed unfriendly to immigrants. Interestingly, discriminatory attitudes against unvaccinated Middle Eastern immigrants were found to be just as strong as those toward unvaccinated natives.

By contrast, researchers found that the unvaccinated respondents on average showed almost no discriminatory attitudes toward the vaccinated.

“The results demonstrate that prejudice is mostly one-sided,” the authors wrote. “Only in [the] United States and Germany do we find that the unvaccinated feel some antipathy towards the vaccinated. But even here we do not find statistical evidence in favor of negative stereotyping or exclusionary attitudes.”

“The observation that vaccinated individuals discriminate against those who are unvaccinated, but that there is no evidence for the reverse, is consistent with work on the psychology of cooperation,” said leading author Alexander Bor, a political psychologist at the George Soros-funded Central European University (CEU).

A Psychological Explanation

Such prejudice can be explained by a psychological mechanism against “free-riding,” according to the study. In other words, a highly polarized and moralized sentiment surrounding COVID-19 vaccination activated this mechanism in vaccinated people, causing them to see those who refuse to get the jabs as morally-failed “free riders” of a collective effort.

UK Medical Doctors Demand the Government Investigate the COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine

A group of medical professionals in the UK has demanded that the government should launch an investigation into the risks of the Covid-19 mRNA vaccine.

Doctors For Patients UK (DFPUK) was started in September 2022 by a group of doctors “who wanted to create a platform and safe space for clinicians to discuss current issues in healthcare and medicine.”

“Our group was borne out of a shared concern that core principles of medical ethics are being disregarded, such as the oath to “First do no harm”, respect for individual bodily autonomy, and the need to obtain full and informed consent for all medical interventions,” an entry to its website read.

“Medicine is a synthesis of art and science, seeking to cure or alleviate human suffering caused by poor health and disease and underpinned by important ethical principles. Doctors throughout history have been instructed to uphold the Hippocratic Oath to ‘Primum non nocere’ (First do no harm), which should dictate our every action and intervention. Medicine practiced without strict adherence to this and other ethical principles, is not safe for patients, is open to abuse and can cause immense harm,” it added.

On Wednesday, the DFPUK released a press release urging the UK government to investigate the mRNA Covid vaccine.

The Gateway Pundit reported earlier this year that the latest official health data from the British government revealed that triple-vaccinated individuals once again accounted for the majority of all Covid-19 hospitalizations between December 20th and January 16th, with the double vaccinated.

Unsurprisingly, even with the highly-infectious and common-cold-like Omicron variant being the dominant strain, the unvaccinated have maintained a steady rate of infection.

In the United Kingdom, the total number of complaints of suspected adverse drug reactions (ADRs) received in the country up to and including July 27th, 2022 was 431,993.

These reports were recorded in The Yellow Card. The Yellow Card scheme is a mechanism by which anybody can voluntarily report any suspected adverse reactions or side effects to the vaccine.

Hotel With A Past: Corinthia Hotel London

Officially, the Corinthia Hotel in London is a new hotel. But the building has quite a history—a long one.

The building housed Great Britain’s government offices in World War I, and in World War II it was an official spy agency, complete with secret tunnels that connected beneath London. After, it sat vacant for many years.

So how did it become a hotel? It starts with $490 million. That’s how much it cost to renovate this classic hotel in Central London—The Corinthia was one of the city’s largest reconstruction projects of the last decade. One reason has to do with the fact that the building contained so much history.

In fact, before the Corinthia was a government installation, it was actually a different hotel dating back to the 19th century: the Hotel Metropole. It was the largest hotel in Europe when it opened its doors in 1885 under Queen Victoria. The hotel had 600 rooms and stood seven stories tall. The concept of the super-hotel, already popular in America, was just emerging in Great Britain.

But in 1916 the Metropole’s purpose took a dramatic turn, transitioning into government offices. Due to its location at the heart of power in London, the hotel was turned over for use to guide the efforts for the first world war.

Before becoming prime minister, Winston Churchill worked in the offices during World War I. He wrote about looking out his window and watching hundreds of Londoners pour onto the streets to celebrate the end of the war while hearing Big Ben chime in the background.

During World War II, the hotel building was once again called upon for duty. The British secret service worked here, monitoring German internment camps and helping troops escape or avoid capture.

The building has some great stories and some secret stories. There are certain tunnels and passages under the road that lead officials to government offices that are in close proximity. Today, they are all locked up and remain top secret.

After world War II, the building continued as a government office for the Ministry of Defense.

The seriousness of war was no longer a threat, but there were many other activities that were commandeered from this area. One story is that right up until 2006 there was a special office in this building dedicated to the monitoring and sighting of UFOs.

HISP RS (Restaraunt Ship) Hispaniola. Another floating pb/restaurant permanently moored along the Victoria Embankment of the Thames River in London. The vessel was moored astern of the Tattershall Castle, with part of the stern under the Jubilee Bridge. Hispaniola added pink to her colour scheme to aid with a marketing campaign maiking photos of the ship easier to date.

BB Black Box. The Black Box Pic was posted by Q on the 27th Of July 2018 [https://qalerts.pub/?n=1725] in Reply to the WARNING Stay alert post back in February 2018.

Anons found the black box stands alongside bus shelter 'S' by Westminster Abbey in London. Its precise location is outside No 4 Victoria street. No 4 Victoria Street used to have a branch of the corrupt HSBC bank and Anons found out it is the home of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC House). Other tenants of the building seem to have links to Iran. The building across the street from the black box is the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.

The black box is about a 11 minute walk from Thames House, the home of the Security Service [MI5] and a 23 minute walk from the Secret Intelligence Service [MI6]. Q's Picture of the box featured a Qanon sticker with a White Rabbit, the text said "The Storm is Coming". Subsequent pictures of the box always shows that lots of stickers have been put on the box, it seems to be a popular "Slap Tagging" location but Anons think this could be a form of discreet communication either by White Hats or Black Hats. A recent visit to the box by an anon shows the box in desperate need of repainting because it has been constantly scrubbed clean by street cleaners indicating a massive amount of stickers has been put on the box in the last 2 years.
