Agreed. Seems to me safety is paramount and their 'appearance' of separating themselves from the situation would indeed offer that precious degree of separation.

There is still so much more to this movie, I don't know what Act we are currently on, but I bet if I were talented enough to draw a graph of all the coincidences, especially lately, it would be a very pretty picture.
