>The Clinton Bush Haiti Fund

The Clinton Bush Haiti Fund was a nonprofit organization founded on January 16, 2010, by former US Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, to aid the victims of the 2010 Haiti earthquake. The organization was formed in response to the request of President Barack Obama for the former Presidents to assist in the Haitian rescue effort. The fund concluded formal operations on December 31, 2012.

On March 5, 2010, a six-member board with two co-chairs, and a CEO, were announced:

Co-chair Laura Graham, a former Clinton administration official and Chief Operating Officer for the Clinton Foundation.

Co-chair Joshua Bolten, former White House Chief of Staff to President Bush and currently a visiting professor at Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School.

Bruce Lindsey, a former Clinton administration official and currently Chief Executive Officer of the Clinton Foundation.

Bill Frist, former US Senate Majority Leader (R-TN) and currently teaching, business and non-profit activities.

Henrietta Fore, former Administrator of the US Agency for International Development under President Bush and currently chairman and CEO of Holsman International, an investment and management company.

Alexis Herman, former Secretary of Labor during President Clinton's administration and currently chief executive officer of New Ventures, LLC.

Gary Edson, who served as Deputy National Security Adviser in President Bush's administration, served as the Chief Executive Officer of the CBHF.

Donations and grants

The Clinton Bush Haiti fund raised $54.4 million from more than 2,000,000 individuals, businesses, and organizations. It dispersed funds to more than 50 organizations through grants, loans, and equity investments. As of December 2012, the Fund estimated that its programs sustained or created 7,350 jobs, trained 20,050 individuals, and had an additional positive impact on the conditions of more than 311,000 Haitians.

Key focus areas for funding included providing small and growing businesses with access to financing, business services, and entrepreneurship training (36%); facilitating job training and workforce development (31%); responding to critical, unmet needs (23%); and supporting the recovery and expansion of microfinance institutions, many of whose beneficiaries are women (10%).

After the Fund ceased formal operations on December 31, 2012, the Multilateral Investment Fund, a member of the Inter-American Development Bank Group, took over management of programs which had not yet been fully completed and began receiving funds from remaining loans. They are charged with reinvesting loan repayments into programs consistent with the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund's mission of promoting economic opportunity in Haiti.

Mac Miller would be ‘pissed’ he died, says his personal trainer Harley Pasternak

Harley Pasternak was expecting Mac Miller to walk into his studio on the day he died.

“I was mid-session with someone else expecting him to show up about 45 min later,” Miller’s personal trainer Pasternak told Page Six on Wednesday. “One of the ladies who works with me walked in with kind of a blank look on her face and held up her phone and there was a news release [about Miller’s death].”

Miller, who died last week from an apparent overdose at age 26, started training with Pasternak — a Los Angeles-based trainer-to-the-stars — a year and a half ago thanks to his then-girlfriend, Ariana Grande.

Pasternak said Miller was always in high spirits and was most recently looking forward to going on tour following his album release in August. He shared a photo on Instagram of the “Self Care” rapper the day he died with the caption saying that the two had coffee the day before.

“I know people that are depressed [and] that was not a depressed person,” he said. “This was not planned. He would be mad if he knew he died, he would be so pissed off,” adding that Miller and Grande are “two people who were great together and they’re two people who were both really happy not together.”

Pasternak, who also played basketball with the late rapper, told us he was “super active and athletic” and that for Miller the gym acted as an “oasis from the daily stresses of business and work.”

“He was probably the most loved person who comes in the studio,” he said. “Everybody loves Mac, he was always in a good mood, never ever in a bad mood. He has the opposite of some kind of egos you sometimes experience with entertainers, he didn’t feel like he needed to be the loudest person in the room, [he was] always funny, always lighthearted, and just the sweetest, sweetest guy.”

EXCLUSIVE: 'This is playing with fire - it could spark a lab-generated pandemic': Experts slam Boston lab where scientists have created a new deadly Omicron strain with an 80% kill rate in mice

Researchers added Omicron's spike protein to the original Wuhan Covid strain

Omicron's spike is highly mutated which made it the most infectious variant ever

Omicron is also far less deadly, causing mild disease in most affected animals

Study intended to discover if spike protein determines deadliness of infection

8 in 10 mice infected with the lab-created strain died at Boston University lab

This compares with a 100% fatality rate in mice infected with the Wuhan strain

Stalin and other high-ranking officials came to distrust Beria. In one instance, when Stalin learned that his then-teenage daughter, Svetlana, was alone with Beria at his house, he telephoned her and told her to leave immediately. When Beria complimented Alexander Poskrebyshev's daughter on her beauty, Poskrebyshev quickly pulled her aside and instructed her, "Don't ever accept a lift from Beria". After taking an interest in Voroshilov's daughter-in-law during a party at their summer dacha, Beria shadowed their car closely all the way back to the Kremlin, terrifying Voroshilov's wife.

Evidence suggests that Beria also murdered some of these women. In 1993, construction workers installing streetlights unearthed human bones near Beria's Moscow villa (now the Tunisian embassy). Skulls, pelvises and leg bones were found. In 1998, the skeletal remains of five young women were discovered during work carried out on the water pipes in the garden of the same villa. In 2011, building workers digging a ditch in Moscow city centre unearthed a common grave near the same residence containing a pile of human bones, including two children's skulls covered with lime or chlorine. The lack of articles and the condition of the remains indicate that these bodies were buried naked. According to Martin Sixsmith, in a BBC documentary, "Beria spent his nights having teenagers abducted from the streets and brought here for him to rape. Those who resisted were strangled and buried in his wife's rose garden." Vladimir Zharov, head of the Department of Forensic Medicine at Moscow's State University of Medicine and Dentistry and then the head of the criminal forensics bureau, said a torture chamber existed in the basement of Beria's villa and that there was probably an underground passage to burial sites.
