Do anons know what the term "rodef" means?

A rodef (Hebrew: רודף, lit. "pursuer"; pl. רודפים, rodfim), in traditional Jewish law, is one who is "pursuing" another to murder him or her. According to Jewish law, such a person must be killed by any bystander after being warned to stop and refusing. A source for this law appears in the Babylonian Talmud:

This law, the din rodef ("law of the pursuer"), is significant as one of the few provisions in Jewish law permitting extrajudicial killings.

A double meaning of the hunters and the hunted. A fetus can be labeled a "rodef" and abortion is justified. PM Rabin was labelled a "rodef" and asassinated.

It can also mean self defense from those who wish to murder you or destroy your people.

Tonights' Election results, Sir Evelyn de Rothschild Dead at 91, & the plane crash in the Jewish cemetary are some interesting connections.
