John Kerry Says Climate Strategy ‘Modelled’ on Covid Vaccine Rollout at World Economic Forum Panel

The World Economic Forum’s ‘First Movers Coalition’ climate change agenda was “modelled” off the effort to roll out vaccines during the Chinese coronavirus crisis, John Kerry said at a COP27 panel in Egypt on Tuesday.

Appearing alongside WEF President Børge Brende and various corporate executives, US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry said that it is urgent for the private sector to pair with governments to realise the goal of preventing the global temperature from rising and to save lives in the allegedly looming global climate crisis.

“We have an enormous challenge before us to bring to scale new technologies and to harness the deeply capable capacity of private sector entrepreneurs in order to bring them to the table because without it, no government has enough money… we need everybody behind this,” Kerry said in a speech before the panel.

“The idea behind the launch of the First Movers Coalition is pretty straightforward, we needed to create demand signals in the market where they didn’t exist, which takes boldness, it takes courage from these executives who have made the decision to be a part of this.

The First Movers Coalition was established ahead of last year’s COP26 climate summit in Glasgow in partnership between the U.S. State Department and Klaus Schwab’s World Economic Forum. The green project seeks to sign up private firms to commit to green agenda efforts to reduce carbon emissions.

“We modelled it somewhat on the experience on what happened with vaccines, the government said ‘we’ll pay for it, build it,’ and the same thing with SpaceX, if you build it we are going to use it and we’ll pay for it.

“People who were putting capital at risk knew that they could get a return on that capital or at least cover their expenses in the case of something like vaccines, where human life was so at risk. Well, human life is at risk now in the context of the challenges of the global climate crisis,” Kerry warned.

In contrast to Kerry’s dire warnings, climate-related deaths have been steadily declining over the past century as prosperity has seen billions of people become more insulated from the deadly impacts of weather events such as hurricanes and floods. Climate expert Bjorn Lomborg noted last year that nearly half a million people died from “storms, floods, droughts, wildfires and extreme temperatures,” a year a century ago while in 2020, just 14,000 died in similar events.

“That’s almost 99% less than the death toll a century ago,” Lomborg wrote. “The global population has quadrupled since then, so this is an even bigger drop than it looks.”

Nevertheless, Kerry said that the radical plans to transform the economy will go forward. When pressed on whether the mid-term elections would impact his agenda, Kerry said that even if Republicans are victorious on Tuesday, “President Biden is more determined than ever to continue what we are doing.”

“And most of what we are doing cannot be changed by anybody else who comes along… The marketplace has made its decision to do what we need to do to respond to the climate crisis.”

How Wall Street executives and billionaires including Dems megadonor George Soros and embattled crypto CEO Sam Bankman-Fried have pumped $300 MILLION into midterm candidates

Wall Street executives and other billionaires pumped more than $200 million into this year's midterm elections

Many of the top donors are the same who have topped political contribution lists in the past but the list also includes new donors

Embattled cryptocurrency billionaire Sam Bankman-Fried, for example, has emerged as a major Democrat donor

But his FTX co-CEO Ryan Samale has been a major contributor to Republicans

Wall Street executives and and other billionaires have pumped more than $200 million into this year's midterm elections, as influential megadonors continue to become a major percentage of all overall contributions.

Many of the top donors this cycle are the same people who have topped political contribution lists in years past, like Democrat megadonor George Soros who donated $128 million this year — most of it earmarked for the future.

But there are a few new names on the list, like embattled cryptocurrency billionaire Sam Bankman-Fried, who has emerged as a major Democrat donor, and his FTX co-CEO Ryan Samale who backs Republicans.

In total, billionaires made up 15 percent of all federal political itemized donations from January 1, 2021 through September 30, up from 11 percent in the 2020 election cycle, according to Sarah Bryner, director of research and strategy at OpenSecrets, a non-profit organization that tracks campaign finance.

Prior to the U.S. Supreme Court's 2010 Citizens United ruling, which struck down limits on political contributions by corporations or unions, political contributions of billionaires made up around 3 percent of overall political contributions, she said.

Here, DailyMail.com breaks down the biggest donors, and what they have contributed to.

Taliban Uses U.S. Military Equipment, IG Withholds Records of Afghan Security Forces Collapse

The Taliban is training and operating with U.S. military equipment including rifles, trucks, and helmets with night vision mounts since the Biden administration withdrew American troops from Afghanistan last year. Taliban forces even held a military parade with dozens of U.S.-provided armored vehicles and Mi-17 helicopters flying overhead, according to a federal audit documenting the collapse of the American-funded Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF). For two decades the U.S. government spent a mind-boggling $90 billion to help the ANDSF develop into a self-sustaining force capable of combatting terrorist groups like the Taliban. It never happened.

When the Biden administration withdrew U.S. troops in August 2021 the ANDSF crumbled and the Taliban took over, generating images and videos of soldiers wearing U.S.-provided clothing and brandishing U.S.-provided rifles. “Taliban units now patrol in pickup trucks and armored vehicles likely procured by the U.S. and provided to the ANDSF,” reads the report published by the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR), which was created by Congress to provide independent and objective oversight of Afghanistan reconstruction projects and activities. “Taliban special operations troops, known as Badri 313 units, wear helmets with night vision mounts likely provided by the United States, and carry U.S.-provided M4 rifles equipped with advanced gunsights.” The report continues. “Khalil Haqqani, a senior Taliban leader, carried a U.S.-provided rifle as he attended prayers at a mosque in Kabul following the collapse.” The examples show that the terrorist group is now equipped with material that was supplied by the U.S. to defeat it, the watchdog writes.

The 43-page report, which has 17 pages of endnotes, was released to the public earlier this year and determined that the single most important factor in the ANDSF’s collapse was the U.S. decision to withdraw military forces and contractors from Afghanistan. Since 2002, the United States deployed military and civilian personnel to train, advise, and mentor Afghan soldiers, police, and ministry officials, the report reveals, adding that Uncle Sam provided the ANDSF over 600,000 weapons, 300 aircraft, 80,000 vehicles, communication equipment, and other advanced material, such as night vision goggles and biometric systems. As part of its probe SIGAR reviewed hundreds of government and academic reports related to the development of Afghan forces and its subsequent collapse. Investigators also conducted more than 40 interviews with former Afghan government officials, former ANDSF members, and current and former U.S. government officials, including commanders of U.S. forces and the Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan (CSTC-A), the unit responsible for the ANDSF’s development. Ambassadors and advisors were also interviewed.

Texas Republican Rep. Mayra Flores Loses Seat to Democrat Vicente Gonzalez

epublican Congresswoman Mayra Flores lost Texas’ 34th Congressional seat to Democrat Rep. Vicente Gonzalez.

Gonzales won with 52.7% to Mayra Flores’ 44.3%.

“The RED WAVE did not happen. Republicans and Independents stayed home. DO NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT THE RESULTS IF YOU DID NOT DO YOUR PART!” Mayra Flores said.

Recall, Mayra Flores won the Texas border town’s Congressional seat in June during a special election after Democrat Rep. Filemon Vela retired.

The seat “ranges from east of San Antonio down to Brownsville, largely along the Gulf Coast before reaching the US-Mexico border,” CNN reported.

Democrat Gonzalez went from the 15th District to the 34th District due to redistricting.

“Retirement and redistricting led to the race pitting the two sitting members of Congress against each other. Flores won the 34th District seat in a special election held after the incumbent, Filemon Vela, retired. Gonzalez jumped from the 15th District to run in the 34th after his district was redrawn to favor Republicans and his home was moved into the 34th District.” NBC News reported.
