Judge Overseeing Sandy Hook Case Freezes Alex Jones’ Assets

A state judge overseeing the Sandy Hook case froze Alex Jones’ assets late Wednesday.

Alex Jones is only allowed to spend money on ‘ordinary living expenses’ according to the judge’s order.

“With the exception of ordinary living expenses, the defendant Alex Jones is not to transfer, encumber, dispose, or move his assets out of the United States, until further order of the court,” Judge Barbara Bellis said in the one-page order.

Infowars host Alex Jones was temporarily blocked from transferring any assets or spending money other than for ordinary living expenses by the judge overseeing the Sandy Hook defamation trial in Connecticut.

State court Judge Barbara Bellis, who oversaw the case in which a jury last month ordered Jones to pay nearly $1 billion for spreading lies about the 2012 elementary school massacre, issued the freezing order late Wednesday over concerns that he was “looting” his own estate and hiding assets through a series of shell companies owned by family members.

Bellis is also currently weighing imposing additional punitive damages on Jones.

The plaintiffs had requested Bellis freeze Jones’s assets, and she set a Dec. 2 evidentiary hearing. In court papers, Jones’s lawyer urged the judge not to grant the request before that hearing and suggested that, if she did, “in an uncanny way it would bolster Mr. Jones’s contention that the results of these proceedings were rigged and that the court appeared partial to the plaintiffs.”

The families also asked Bellis to order a complete accounting of Jones’s assets, which he has steadfastly refused to provide, and that he be required to bring all movable property to Connecticut for safekeeping by the court. The judge hasn’t yet addressed those requests.

The judge on Thursday ordered Infowars founder Alex Jones to pay an additional $473 million to Sandy Hook families, Reuters reported.

This is in addition to the $1 billion Alex Jones was ordered to pay.

General Mourão, a longtime ally of embattled President Jair Bolsonaro, is Brazil’s first Vice President of indigenous descent. A military man by trade affectionately known as the “People’s General,” Mourão previously worked with Bolsonaro at the 8th Paratrooper Field Artillery Group’s base in Rio de Janeiro, later joining him on his 2018 presidential run.

“Today, in Brazil, we live in decisive times,” General Mourão tweeted on November 8th, just over a week after far-left challenger, Lula de Silva, who until recently was in prison for corruption, was declared the winner of Brazil’s electronic election.

The contest has been marred by allegations of massive fraud, comparable to the United States in 2020, but dissenters are being silenced, as Lula is backed by left-wing global power brokers, including the World Economic Forum, and the Chinese Communist Party.

“We see those who intend power (Lula and his PT Workers’ Party) invoking order, but when they were in opposition they spoke about freedom,” the General went on, before calling for nationwide resistance to Lula and his left-wing agenda.

Biden Admin Tells Supreme Court To Let House Democrats Have Trump's Taxes

President Joe Biden’s administration is urging the Supreme Court to let House Democrats get access to former President Donald Trump’s tax documents.

In a 30-page brief filed Nov. 10, Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar said that earlier rulings finding House Democrats’ request had legitimate legislative intent were correct, and that the nation’s top court should not diverge from them.

U.S. District Judge Trevor McFadden, a Trump appointee, said the request from House Ways and Means Chairman Rep. Richard Neal (D-Mass.) served a valid legislative purpose because Neal says he will use the returns to examine whether new or adjusted legislation is needed for the IRS program that audits presidents.

An appeals court later upheld the ruling.

Trump then lodged an emergency application for a stay to the Supreme Court, which triggered a temporary block on Neal’s panel obtaining the documents.

Supreme Court Justice John Roberts, a George W. Bush appointee, entered the stay and asked the government to respond to Trump by Nov. 10 at noon.

Trump’s lawyers said there is “a fair prospect” that the Supreme Court will stay the lower court rulings and deny the Democrat request, and that without a stay Trump will suffer issues such as a loss of confidentiality.

Prelogar, a Biden appointee, argued Trump had not met the bar for a stay, which includes an applicant showing a reasonable probability that four justices will agree to review the appeals court ruling and showing there is a fair prospect that a majority of the court would reverse the ruling.

Because the appeals court relied on Supreme Court precedent, including Trump v. Mazars, there’s no need for the Supreme Court to review the ruling, Prelogar asserted.

“The court of appeals’ factbound application of the Mazars factors does not warrant further review. And this case would be a particularly poor vehicle for elaborating on the Mazars analysis,” she said, noting that the two lower courts “each took somewhat different approaches to the separation-of-powers questions presented here, but all of them reached the same conclusion—and none of them regarded the case as particularly close.”

“The application should be denied,” she added.

Roberts has not yet indicated whether he will solicit a reply to the brief from Trump’s lawyers.

Roberts is handling the application because he oversees the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.

He can keep the stay in place or lift it on his own, or choose to refer the matter to the full court for consideration.

If the stay had not been imposed, the IRS was under orders to transmit Trump documents from tax years 2015 to 2020 to Neal.

Arizona, Nevada Won’t Be Done Counting Ballots Until Week After Elections, Officials Say

Arizona and Nevada won’t be done counting ballots from the midterm elections until the week after the elections, officials say.

A Maricopa County, Arizona, election official, Bill Gates, and Clark County, Nevada, Registrar Joe Gloria, announced Thursday that there are 290,000 early ballots in Maricopa County and over 50,000 ballots in Clark County that have not been counted. Both officials reported that ballot collection will continue through the weekend with results expected on Monday.

“If you drop off an early ballot, it means it has to come in on Wednesday and start the process of being signature verified,” Gates told CNN. “We have experts here who go through, compare the signature on the outside of the ballot envelope with the signature that we have in our voter registration file, so that takes a while, cause we gotta get that right.”

“We still have over 50,000 ballots that need to be counted. Those are in various stages in the process of validation before they go to the counting board and finally before they get to tabulation where we are able to read them into the system. We will continue to work through the weekend,” Gloria said.

On Tuesday, Republicans requested to extend the Maricopa County voting hours until 10 p.m. local time, but the Arizona Superior Court denied the request. The request followed voting delays and voting machine issues that reportedly affected ballot tabulation devices and printers at more than 35% of Maricopa County’s voting centers.

Arizona and Nevada, two key states that will help decide the final balance of power in Congress, remain in limbo as election officials work to tally the final results. In Nevada, Republican Adam Laxalt leads Democrat incumbent Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto 49.4% to 47.6% with 83% reporting, and Arizona Democratic candidate Mark Kelly leads Republican Blake Masters 51.5% to 46.3%, with 70% reporting, according to The Associated Press

In the gubernatorial races, Republican Joe Lombardo leads Democrat incumbent Gov. Steve Sisolak 50.1% to 46.2% in Nevada, with 83% reporting, according to the Associated Press. In Arizona, Democrat Katie Hobbs leads Republican Kari Lake 50.4% to 49.6%, with 70% reporting.

County register for Maricopa County Stephen Richer issued a public apology Tuesday after voting delays and issues occurred. “I am very sorry for any voter who has been frustrated or inconvenienced today in Maricopa County,” Stephen Richer said in a statement. “Every legal vote will be tabulated. I promise.”

On Wednesday, Maricopa County initially posted 62,034 votes from mail-in ballots, part of 86,000 ballots received during the weekend before the election, according to the Hill. In addition to the weekend ballots, Maricopa County received 50,000 mail-in ballots on Monday.

In total, 619,000 ballots have not been counted in Arizona, according to the Hill.

"I had meetings with staff yesterday," Lake said on the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "We're working already on moving forward on transition and we are bringing in an entire staff that is dedicated to just our border plan."

According to Lake, she is prepared to sue the Biden administration for the lack of action being taken at the southern border.

"We're looking at hiring attorneys already and some really top notch people who understand the Constitution, the border and how to deal with the federal government," Lake stated.

"We have a plan called 'Defend Arizona' and we're going to lean heavily on Article One, Section 10 of the US Constitution," Lake later explained. "When we're being invaded we can protect our citizens and protect our border. We'll issue a declaration of invasion on day one. We're going to work to stop people from coming over illegally and shut down the fentanyl trafficking that is flowing through Arizona. This is a weapon of mass destruction."

One of Lake's crucial issues that she ran on is election integrity, which she plans on working to restore in Arizona if elected governor.

"We're not going to have this continue when I'm governor," Lake said, referring to the delayed counting of ballots in Arizona counties. "I can rest assured I will win. We know that votes are left to be counted and we know they are going to lean heavily Republican. And we're going to restore faith and honesty in our elections starting on day one."

UN official comments on Ukrainian rape evidence in prank call

Pramila Patten has previously accused Russia of using a sexual violence “strategy” in Ukraine

The UN special representative on sexual violence, Pramila Patten, has admitted she possesses no solid evidence that would substantiate her earlier accusations against Russia in a mock call with pranksters Vovan and Lexus. Last month, Patten claimed that Russian soldiers used mass sexual assault as part of a military strategy in Ukraine.

“This is the information, which I got when I was in Kiev on May 3 from survivors and service providers,” she can be heard saying in a video published by the Russian prankster duo on Thursday. Vovan and Lexus posed as Alexander Merezhko, the head of the Ukrainian parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee. According to Patten, the “service providers,” who “reported” this information to her, were carrying out “door-to-door” enquiries and were particularly “referring to Mariupol.”

The Azov Sea port city of Mariupol was already largely controlled by Russian forces in early May, with some of the Ukrainian troops still holed up at the Azovstal steel plant. Russian military allowed the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross to evacuate civilians from the city but there were no reports about any Ukrainian “service providers” carrying out any “door-to-door” enquiries there.

Patten also insisted that this information was relayed to her in the presence of Ukraine's European Integration Minister Olga Stefanishina.

When asked by Vovan and Lexus on whether she was provided with any evidence to substantiate these reports, Patten said it was “not her job” to conduct any investigations altogether. The UN official admitted she was just “sitting in New York” and providing “strategic leadership.”

“It’s not my role to go and investigate. It’s not the role of my office,” she told the prankster duo, adding that she does not have a relevant mandate either. Patten then said that the investigation was being carried out by the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine. She admitted, though, that their reports did not mention anything “about Viagra.”

In October, Patten claimed to the AFP that sexual violence was a “deliberate tactic” and “military strategy” of Russia, adding that the soldiers were “equipped with Viagra.” Her words sparked a response from Moscow, as Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova blasted Patten’s claims as going “beyond the reach of reason.”
