Republican Joe Lombardo has won the race for governor in Nevada, NBC News projects, narrowly defeating Democratic incumbent Steve Sisolak. The victory for Lombardo, who was endorsed by former President Donald Trump, puts a Republican back in the top job in the pivotal presidential battleground state and could have major implications on the future of education and criminal justice in the swing state. His projected win comes after days of delays in the processing of ballots in Clark County, the largest county in the state and the one that includes Las Vegas. Sisolak conceded the race on Friday night.

Britain fell silent today to mark Armistice Day - with a two-minute silence observed at 11am in cities, towns and villages around the country. In London, veterans and dignitaries gathered by the Cenotaph while Big Ben rang 11 times to mark the occasion after being muffled for five years due to repairs. The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester attended the National Memorial Arboretum Armistice Day Service in Staffordshire and services were held in London, Edinburgh, Belfast and Portsmouth. Foreign Secretary James Cleverly, who said Russia had 'shattered' peace by waging war in Ukraine, was in Paris to attend a remembrance service hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron.

President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is extending temporary amnesty status to hundreds of thousands of foreign nationals from a variety of countries living in the United States who would otherwise be eligible for deportation. Just a few days after Tuesday’s midterm elections, Biden’s DHS filed an automatic extension in the federal register that will allow more than 305,000 foreign nationals from El Salvador, Honduras, Haiti, Nepal, Nicaragua, and Sudan to remain in the U.S. and hold American jobs. The bulk, about 194,000, are nationals from El Salvador.

If there was an award for “Most Tone-Deaf Tweet Ever”, one would have a hard time finding anything to beat out Hillary Clinton’s Veteran’s Day message. While holidays celebrating those who have fought for our freedoms should forever remain non-partisan, it’s hard not to point and laugh at how shameless some people are.
