If, as planned, physical currency is eliminated in favor of CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency), every transaction will become a part of the social score of both parties. “They” will know what size, brand and color of socks you prefer. The plan could be disrupted, or at least delayed, if enough people hold onto hard assets — IOW almost anything whose ownership is not defined by paper or digital record. Let’s hope the train has not yet left the station.
