In the aftermath of the collapse of the cryptocurrency exchange, new questions are being raised surrounding these connections, from crypto partnerships to the billionaire’s contributions to Democrats. But is there something behind the curtain or was it a group of young people in over their heads? (snip) In March, the Ukrainian government established a crypto donations website, allowing Kyiv to convert digital token contributions into fiat money that would be deposited at the National Bank of Ukraine. The Ukraine government maintained a goal of $200 million. By October, it had raised more than $60 million.

The U.S. Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals ordered a nationwide injunction pending appeal against President Joe Biden’s student loan debt forgiveness program Monday, adding to previous legal action blocking the plan. The program seeks to forgive $10,000 in federal student loan debt for individuals with incomes under $125,000 and up to $20,000 for Pell Grant recipients, with the Biden administration claiming it had the authority to institute the program under the HEROES Act of 2003 and an emergency situation sparked by the COVID-19 pandemic. Nebraska, Missouri, Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas and South Carolina had filed a lawsuit against the Biden administration in late September over the program,

Amazon plans to lay off about 10,000 employees in what would be the largest reduction in the company's history, according to reports. The New York Times reported the mass layoffs could begin as soon as this week and will focus on Amazon's devices organization, retail division and human resources, citing people with knowledge of the move who were not authorized to speak publicly. Amazon did not immediately confirm the layoffs to USA TODAY. The reported layoffs would affect about 3% of Amazon's corporate employees and less than 1% of its global workforce. The company has more than 1.5 million workers worldwide.

Following the dismal midterm showing, there’s a lot of blame to go around. While I can and will sum up the issue, I want to focus more narrowly on the way in which the entire Republican machine is turning from Trump, who is now anathema, to Ron DeSantis, who is the new god. Considering that we still have a long time before the primaries and then the 2024 election, this kind of decision-making is premature and dangerous—and that’s why we’re being forced into it.

Federal prosecutors are not filing any charges against Rudy Giuliani following an investigation into his activities in Ukraine. A federal attorney in New York opened an investigation into the former mayor in 2019 for possibly violating foreign lobbying laws. Giuliani was alleged to have been involved in having Marie Yovanovitch removed from her role as U.S. ambassador to Ukraine. He was also believed to have pushed Ukrainian officials to investigate Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden who was former President Donald Trump's chief political opponent in 2020.
