Marjorie Taylor Greene Endorses Kevin McCarthy, Who Says He Won’t Impeach Biden, for Speaker

MTG compared conservatives to Never Trumpers for opposing McCarthy's long-term quest for Speaker.

Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has endorsed Kevin McCarthy for Speaker of the House, after spending virtually all of her first term in Washington claiming that she would oppose the GOP establishment leader’s quest for the gavel.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene claimed during an appearance on Steve Bannon’s War Room broadcast that it’s a “bad strategy” for conservative members of the GOP to oppose Kevin McCarthy’s latest attempt at becoming Speaker of the House; a 180-degree turn for the Georgia Congresswoman who made a name for herself claiming to be a champion of the anti-establishment America First movement.

McCarthy has reportedly agreed to restore Greene’s committee assignments should he become Speaker, after they were stripped away from her by Democrats.

“I actually think that’s a bad strategy,” Greene told Steve Bannon when asked for her opinion on the positions of fellow Freedom Caucus members like Andy Biggs, who’s announced that he won’t vote for McCarthy under any circumstances and may run for Speaker himself.

Using NRCC-style talking points, Greene told Bannon and War Room viewers that if conservatives don’t get behind Kevin McCarthy, Liz Cheney will be the next Speaker of the House.

“Let me tell you something Steve, here’s the harsh reality,” Greene said.

“It’s very, very risky right now to produce a leadership challenge, especially for Speaker of the House, when they are going to open the door, and allow Liz Cheney, possibly, to become Speaker,” she said seconds later.

Bizarrely, Greene then compared opponents to McCarthy’s potential speakership to the GOP establishment’s Never Trump movement, a movement with which McCarthy and his closest allies have been intimately affiliated.

“Do we want to watch a challenge for Speaker of the House simply because it’s a “Never Kevin” movement, just like we’ve seen a Never Trump movement?” Greene said.

“I will not do it. There is no way in hell I will stand there and allow that to happen,” Greene said, calling on the GOP to unite behind Kevin McCarthy for Speaker.

In addition to her massive flip-flop on McCarthy’s Speaker candidacy, Greene’s support for the establishment leader reneges on her vow to impeach Joe Biden, a promise she’s made as recently as just a few days ago and has consistently used as a fundraising pitch.

Kevin McCarthy has been adamant that he won’t impeach Biden should he become the next Speaker of the House.

Conservatives “in the know,” have spoken of a “power-sharing” agreement between McCarthy and Pelosi, meant to blunt conservative legislative prowess and preserve Nancy Pelosi’s influence, which she recently insisted she still has in Congress, following the midterms.

Biden’s Climate Change Policies Work More in China’s Interest: Ex-NSA Officer

The Biden administration’s focus on climate change can be geopolitically hazardous as green policies can shift power into the hands of China, which has monopolized the supply chain of rare minerals required in the production of renewable energy technology, said Steve Yates, former deputy national security adviser at the White House from 2001–05, in an interview with The Epoch Times’ sister media NTD Television on Nov. 10.

“I don’t think they found a sustainable path toward the goal they see. Certainly, it has shifted a lot of power towards China. And China has not proven willing to work with them on this either,” said Yates who’s also a senior fellow at the China Policy Initiative Chair of America First Policy Initiative.

China is the largest investor in renewable energy in the world, domestically and abroad. Five of the world’s six largest solar-module manufacturing companies and the world’s largest wind turbine manufacturer are also owned by China, according to a 2017 report from World Resources Institute. China’s Tainqi Lithium is one of the largest manufacturers of lithium-ion batteries, an important component of electric vehicle batteries.

U.S. policy on climate change hasn’t reduced China’s stakes in the renewable energy market and its near monopoly over the supply chain of rare earth minerals considered indispensable for renewable energy technology production. The latter has been considered a foreign policy challenge for the United States because of its own dependence on China’s rare earth supply chain.

Yates said the Biden administration should not make policies that support China’s interest in the renewable energy market and should urgently work to catch up by first using the resources it is endowed within the country.

The U.S. Senate, which remains intensely divided on climate change policies, approved its first international climate change treaty in three decades on Sept. 21 when it approved a 2016 agreement to phase down refrigerant chemicals that are among the worst pollutants.

By doing so, the United States joined other 136 nations and the European Union in approving the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol that promises to cut down on refrigerant chemicals by 80 percent in the next three decades.

The legislation is aimed at jumpstarting U.S. solar manufacturing, however, Cullen S. Hendrix, a senior fellow with the Peterson Institute for International Economics said in an analysis that the agreement doesn’t secure U.S. solar supply chains from China, which control 70–80 percent of the global production.

“[The bill] would help close the gap in solar module production but would leave the United States dependent on China for critical links in the supply chain. This dependence needs to be addressed. The current situation is a significant source of US strategic vulnerability,” said Hendrix.

White House Pushes ‘Assault Weapons’ Ban After UVA Handgun Attack

The White House pushed for an “assault weapons” ban following a handgun attack that killed three people at the University of Virginia Sunday night.

Breitbart News reported that the shooting occurred by UVA’s Culbreth Garage around 10:30 p.m., wounding two people and killing three.

The three fatalities were Devin Chandler, Lavel Davis, and D’Sean Perry.

The shooting suspect, a former UVA football player named Christopher Darnall Jones, was apprehended Monday morning.

Reuters noted that Jones allegedly used a handgun in his attack. Moreover, they noted that in addition to second-degree murder charges, Jones faces “three counts of using a handgun in the commission of a felony.”

FOX News observed that the White House reacted to the handgun attack by pushing an “assault weapons” ban.

The White House pointed to gun control that President Joe Biden signed after the May 24, 2022, Uvalde shooting, saying, “But we must do more. We need to enact an assault weapons ban to get weapons of war off America’s streets. House Democrats acted, and the Senate should follow.”

NBC Correspondent Miguel Almaguer Suspended After Viral Report on Paul Pelosi and David DePape

NBC News pulled their bombshell report in early November by Miguel Almaguer on the attack on Paul Pelosi that included details that contradicted the narrative in the federal charging papers against accused attacker David DePape. The video of a report that aired on the Today Show was pulled across several platforms after The Gateway Pundit reported the contradictions-which was not noted by NBC in their report.

A report by NBC on a third person in the Pelosi home at the time of the attack was also later walked back.

The NBC report by journalist Miquel Almaguer revealed that Paul Pelosi opened the door for the police, did not flee or declare an emergency, walked back to the attacker in the house, and then was attacked.

This shook up the entire narrative by the Pelosi team.

On Monday The Daily Beast announced that NBC reporter Miquil Almaguer was suspended following his report on Paul Pelosi.

NBC Today show correspondent Miguel Almaguer has been suspended pending an internal investigation after NBC News had to retract his reporting that inflamed right-wing conspiracy theories about the brutal assault on Paul Pelosi, Confider has learned.

In an on-air report that went viral soon after it aired Almaguer suggested Nancy Pelosi’s husband was not in danger when cops arrived at their San Francisco home.

“After a ‘knock and announce,’ the front door was opened by Mr. Pelosi. The 82-year-old did not immediately declare an emergency or tried to leave his home but instead began walking several feet back into the foyer toward the assailant and away from police,” Almaguer reported on the morning of November 4. “It’s unclear if the 82-year-old was already injured or what his mental state was, say sources.”

Donald Trump asks US appeals court to revive his Twitter lawsuit fighting ban from platform

The lawsuit seeks compensatory and punitive damages and a court order requiring Twitter to "immediately reinstate" his account that was permanently suspended on January 8, 2021.

Mr Trump has vowed to keep posting to his own Truth Social media platform.

Twitter's new owner, billionaire Elon Musk, has said that he would reinstate Mr Trump's account.

A spokesperson for Mr Trump did not immediately respond to a message seeking comment, and a Twitter spokesperson did not immediately reply.

A lawyer for Mr Trump, John Coale in Washington, said on Monday, "We want him to have the right to get back on" to Twitter.

Twitter said last year it had permanently suspended Mr Trump's account "due to the risk of further incitement of violence" after his supporters stormed the US Capitol as it was preparing to certify Democrat Joe Biden's presidential win.

US District Judge James Donato in May dismissed Mr Trump's claim that his ban from Twitter violated speech protections accorded under the US Constitution's First Amendment.

Judge Donato also denied Mr Trump's claim that Twitter was serving as a "state actor" when it banned his account.

EU members to train Ukrainian military

The bloc has officially declared that the mission will begin in about two weeks

The Council of the European Union has launched an EU Military Assistance Mission (EUMAM), according to a statement by the Czech Republic, which currently holds the presidency of the body. The mission will see the bloc provide training for some 15,000 Ukrainian soldiers as the military conflict between Moscow and Kiev continues.

EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell told reporters on Monday that the decision to launch the training program was agreed in “record time,” and said the mission would be operational “in a couple of weeks.”

Noting that Kiev’s forces had recently entered Kherson after the Russian withdrawal, the top diplomat stated that the EU’s decision to provide military aid to Ukraine was “a good one,” and that the bloc had to continue supporting the country.

Several EU countries, however, have already opted out of participating in the program. Hungary said it did not even vote for the establishment of EUMAM and would not send any trainers nor contribute financial resources towards its operating costs. Austria has also refused to take part in the mission, but has offered its support for the initiative.

The EUMAM training program is intended to last two years and a total of €107 million ($110 million) will be allocated for the initiative. Training will take place in Poland and Germany, according to Borrell, who noted that “there are a lot of countries willing to participate” in this mission.

The European Commission had previously stated that the mission would provide “individual, collective and specialized training to Ukraine’s Armed Forces, including to their Territorial Defense Forces.”

Moscow has consistently warned Western countries against providing military support to Kiev, with numerous Russian officials arguing that such assistance would only prolong the conflict and lead to unnecessary casualties.

Queer-themed Santa coming to WA shopping centres

LGBTQ-friendly photo set aimed to bring a 'spirit of inclusivity' to Christmas in Western Australia this year

Major shopping centres in Western Australia are promoting queer-themed Santa photo shots in the lead up to Christmas.

Westfield centres across the State have announced they will host a special day giving “LGBTQ families and their allies” the chance to have photographs with Santa using “Pride props”, as well as with drag queens.

Organisers said it would “bring families together in the spirit of inclusivity and Christmas”.

Christmas is a holy time for Christians where they celebrate the birth of Jesus whom they believe was God becoming a man to die for the sins of the world.

Living Proud WA chairperson, Barry Cosker told The West Australian that Christmas was “a chance for us to shine”.

“For a lot of people growing up, it’s really important to see yourself represented … so to see transgender, bisexual, lesbian, gay representation makes a really big difference,” he said.

Cosker said allowing the LGBTQ community to have queer-themed photos at Christmas “sends a message that who you are, is perfect just the way you are”.

“Living Proud This Christmas” will be held on November 19 at all WA Westfield shopping centres including Westfield Booragoon, Westfield Carousel, Westfield Whitford City and Westfield Innaloo.
