WHITTIER, CA: "A group of law enforcement recruits are in critical condition after they were hit by a car during their morning run in Whittier, authorities said. The California Highway Patrol said the incident was reported at 6:30 a.m. near the intersection of Mills Avenue and Telegraph Road. The recruits attend the Sheriff’s Training Academy and Regional Services Center located in the 11500 block of Colima Road, which is roughly a mile and a half from the crash site. Whittier is located 20 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles. Authorities confirmed the driver underwent a sobriety test and was taken into custody. The results of the sobriety test are unknown. The 11 victims have been rushed to area hospitals and up to 15 may have been hit. A neighbor told FOX 11 that the recruits often jog in the area and run in packs wearing high-visibility vests."

Witness to the police recruits being run down just said that he was told they would probably let the driver go from custody today…that it was an accident. He then went on to say it may have been purposefully done.

GAITHERSBURG, MD: "Firefighters say 12 people were injured after a fire and explosion led to a structural collapse at an apartment complex in Montgomery County Wednesday morning. The fire was reported around 8:30 a.m. in the 800 block of Quince Orchard Boulevard in Gaithersburg. At a press conference on the scene, Montgomery County Fire Chief Scott Goldstein said 10 of those injured were transported. Two of those transported have critical injuries and the other eight, which he said were made up of four adults and four children, have mild to moderate injuries. He said two people were treated and remained on scene. No fatalities have been reported. Goldstein said that the still active fire was being fed by gas from the basement area of one of the buildings. He said crews are working with Washington Gas to shut off the supply."
