In the big picture 40K ft view Q did say The Precipice is going to need to go down first before things get better.

And in typical Q style the specifics to what that means were left to the imagination or hidden in the drops that hardly anyone (if at all) has been able to determine.

So, from a Q perspective it's not like anons weren't warned that it was going to be fucky with shit winds blowing.
