I’m visiting family in Raleigh, NC and we are at this Chinese Lantern show. It seems like a counterfeit (CCP sponsored?) version of the Shen Yun Performing Arts Tour. The Shen Yun show educates the public about ancient China’s rich culture of dance, music, and art prior to it being neutered by communist ideology, but this lantern show just seems like a flashy high tech CCP production with a few circus performers. The opening act had a dude dancing around with a large flashy cube (symbology?). Sponsors include ABC news and Dominion Energy(?).
I wonder if CCP investment in this area explains all the construction and infrastructure growth where land prices continue to climb while the rest of country seems to be declining.
