=Next House Oversight Chair Says Mar-a-Lago Documents Not Top Priority==

Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., who is on track to become chairman of the House Oversight and Reform Committee next year, said the committee would not prioritize its efforts into the classified documents seized by the FBI at former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate.

“That will not be a priority,” Comer told CNN in an interview, adding that the committee is “just waiting to see what comes out of that.”

The House Oversight and Reform Committee chaired by outgoing Rep. Carolyn Maloney, D-N.Y., has been investigating Trump’s mishandling of presidential records for several months. The probe is separate from the Department of Justice’s investigation, which had the nation's attention in August after the FBI raided Mar-a-Lago.

In September, Maloney sent a letter to the acting archivist of the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), Debra Steidel Wall, urging her to obtain a “personal certification” from Trump that he relinquished all presidential records he removed from the White House. Maloney also requested a group to do “an urgent review” of the recovered documents.

The letter came after reports that Trump’s attorney’s misled investigators on the possessed classified documents, and there were empty folders meant for classified materials.

In August, Republicans on the House Oversight and Reform Committee wrote a letter to Wall asking for clarity over its role in the FBI’s search of Mar-a-Lago.

Asked if he believes NARA when it says it does not do matters based on politics, Comer told CNN, “we’ll have to wait and see.”

“I know that the day that National Archives met with Carolyn Maloney was the day that they contacted the DOJ about their concern. So, I don’t know,” Comer told the network. “I don’t get involved in a lot of the drama from the last administration.”

Comer is anticipated to become the chair when Republicans take control of the House. Republicans have promised several investigations to come.

The potential targets include Hunter Biden, the Biden family’s business activities with Ukraine, politicization in the DOJ, the origins of COVID-19, the withdrawal from Afghanistan, the border crisis and the Biden administration’s policies.

Elon Musk responded on Tuesday to critics who claimed that he is mishandling Twitter and caving to right-wing journalists and pundits on the platform, saying that "there is not one permanent ban on even the most far-left account spouting utter lies."

"Imagine if Elon Musk were actually the right-wing bogeyman these spoiled lefty journos pretend he is and he decided to turn the tables and ban all left-wing 'fake news' from Twitter," Kyle Becker opined. "There'd be nothing left for them to publish!"

"As is obvious to all but the media, there is not one permanent ban on even the most far left account spouting utter lies," Musk replied. "Not even Associated Press with their completely fictional report on Russian missiles hitting Poland that carried severe consequences for escalating the war."

Former AP journalist James Laporta nearly started World War 3 by falsely reporting that a Russian missile had struck Poland, killing two. Laporta was fired, but not before his report, citing an anonymous US official, caused an international diplomatic incident.

It was later revealed that the missile did not come from Russia.

Later, the AP reported that "three US officials," speaking on condition of anonymity "because they were not authorized to discuss the matter publicly," said preliminary assessments suggested that the missile was fired by Ukrainian forces at an incoming Russian missile to defend against an attack on Ukraine’s electrical infrastructure. This was a contradiction of Laporta's account.

US President Joe Biden said it was “unlikely” that the missile had been fired from Russia. The Pentagon said, "We have no information at this point in time to corroborate the press reports regarding allegations of a Russian missile strike on Polish territory." Russia has denied any involvement in the explosion in Poland.

This was not before Ukrainian President Volodymyr called the missile blast "a very significant escalation."

"We need to put the terrorist in its place," he said. "The longer Russia feels impunity, the more threats there will be for everyone within the reach of Russian missiles."

In the event that Russia was to launch any kind of incursion into Poland, the US and NATO allies would begin discussions of taking action against that aggressor, in this case, Russia, and would likely decide to unequivocally defend Poland and the western European continent.

The only problem, of course, is that US and Russia are both nuclear powers, and a war between the two nations has the very real potential in triggering the use of nuclear weapons, a humanitarian and existential threat to the existence of humanity.

Musk has been blasted by critics on the left, despite having been insistent that Twitter, under his leadership, would be a bastion of free speech, something the left used to stand for without hesitation.

Elon Musk Takes a Hit: Tesla Stock Loses $700 Billion in Value– Triple Disney’s Total Market Cap

Tesla’s market capitalization has reportedly plummeted from over $1.2 trillion to $530 billion in the past year alone. The $760 billion lose is the equivalent to triple the entire market cap of The Walt Disney Company

Business Insider reports that Tesla’s market valuation has plummeted by nearly $700 billion from its peak a year ago. Insider notes that the $670 billion decline is equivalent to the market value of three Disneys, four Nikes, or six Starbucks.

Tesla’s market cap rose from under $100 billion at the start of 2020 to over $1.2 trillion in November, boosting Elon Musk’s automaker’s share price from a $30 split-adjusted price to over $400. However, it has plummeted by almost 60 percent since then to $530 billion as of Monday’s market close.

This massive market value drop isn’t far off the entire worth of Warren Buffet’s firm Berkshire Hathaway, valued at $685 billion. Insider notes that Tesla’s market-cap drop is equivalent to triple the entire market value of McDonald’s ($201 billion), Disney ($178 billion), or Wells Fargo ($178 billion).

Only five S&P 500 companies — Apple, Alphabet, Amazon, Microsoft, and Berkshire Hathway —are worth more than the $670 billion in market value that Tesla has lost over the past year, reflecting a wider exodus from growth stocks and concerns that Musk’s new business dealings overseeing Twitter will be a major distraction for the CEO.

Tesla has promised for some time that most of its profits will be made in the future, but in the current market conditions, stocks such as Tesla become less attractive to investors.

Add to this that Musk recently purchased Twitter for $44 billion and has cashed in billions of dollars worth of Tesla stock to finance the venture, many investors are becoming worried. Tesla shareholders are also worried that Musk could lose focus over time as he attempts to restructure Twitter and may even sell more Tesla shares to cover costs, either of which would further affect Tesla’s stock price.

Biden administration encourages possible mask mandate to combat 'long COVID'

The Department of Health and Human Services pushes for possible social distancing and masking

A new report from the Department of Health and Human Services says that social distancing and masking should be encouraged or even mandated due to the possibility of people suffering from "long COVID."

"The lifting of mask mandates and indifferent attitude toward masking and social distancing typical in many public and private places further isolates people with Long COVID," reads the report obtained by Fox News. "As a result, policymakers should "encourage or mandate policies and protocols regarding masking and social distancing in public spaces."

According to the CDC, long COVID is when people who have had COVID-19 experience long-term effects after having an infection from the virus.

Recently, the White House asked Congress for another $10 billion to fight COVID, according to Fox.

"Listening to and learning from the experiences of long COVID patients is essential to accelerating understanding and breakthroughs," said Rachel Levine, the assistant secretary for health.

The report also calls for mental and behavioral health care for people with long COVID and vaccine promotion.

There is also a push in the report that Fox obtained for negotiations with pharmaceutical companies to fund COVID advocacy groups and states that "diversity, equity and inclusion-related outreach funding" is needed to ensure research money helps "underresourced and underrepresented communities."

Brazilian Truckers are blockading roads and ports while a Federal Judge had to step down for allegedly discussing a military coup with President Jair Bolsonaro. The head of Bolsonaro-allied Liberal Party will announce the next steps today.

In a voice message published by columnist Mônica Bergamo, Judge Augusto Nardes of the Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) allegedly was discussing a military coup with President Jair Bolsonaro. In the recording, Nardes said he has “a lot of information” about “strong movement in the (Army) barracks”. Nardes allegedly said “that (there will be) a very strong outcome in the nation, unpredictable … in a matter of hours, days, at most, a week, two, maybe less.”

Apparently someone forwarded a WhatsApp message from the Judge to the journalist. The call was interpreted as referring to potential preparation of a military coup to prevent the inauguration of convicted Communist criminal Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva as President in January. Judge Augusto Nardes has announced his resignation over the call.

The head of Bolsonaro-allied Liberal Party (PL) Valdemar da Costa Neto will hold a press conference today at 4 pm Eastern to propose a review of all ballots used in this year’s election. A study by the Instituto Voto Legal concluded that it was impossible to “ validate the results generated in all electronic voting machines of models 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2015″ .

“We don’t want new elections, we are not going to propose that, we don’t want to disturb the life of the country”, Costa Neto said. “But there are some electronic voting machines that have to be reviewed and we are going to propose this to the Superior Electoral Court next Tuesday (…) From the study we did, there are several ballot boxes that cannot be considered valid. It’s all over Brazil, from 2020 onwards. They all have the same number of ballots. There’s no way to validate this. We have the proof and we are going to show that these ballot boxes cannot be considered. Let’s see what the TSE will solve.” According to Costa Neto, approximately 250,000 electronic voting machines had problems.

According to O Antagonista, the PL has applied to the Electoral Court to recognize that President Bolsonaro received 51% of the vote.
