The name meaning of Elon caught my eye so I went to the Strong's Concordance to dig, and found that the info from the babysitter is incorrect.

El does mean God, but Elon does not have that meaning .

It means a Terebinth .., which is a type of tree.

But the interesting thing is that it is in the Old Testament several times. I shall return if I find anything interdasting .
