To me, the fact that the 'bullet holder' (on the gun in the Musk pic) is completely solid (no room for bullets) and there's no trigger whatsoever points to it being a model of a concept gun called a Diamond Back 357 that was designed for a video game called "Deus Ex: Human Revolution" as described here -

I think somebody used the 3d render from the 'artstation' link above and 3d printed it.

Comparing the 2, the one in the Musk pic is almost identical to the one at the artstation link (pic related). Musk's has a safety and the render does not.

Musk's has no trigger.
