Justices Hear Oral Arguments In Two Corruption Cases Related To Fmr Gov. Andrew Cuomo

On Monday, the Justices heard oral arguments about whether prosecutors overstepped in the two incidents that happened under the Democrats watch. One case centered around whether or not part of the conviction of his ex-aide, Joe Percoco, on bribery charges should be overturned. Percoco was Cuomo’s campaign manager at the time he took a $35,000 bribe from a developer, for which he was convicted. The other case revolves around a real-estate developer who attempted to rig the bidding process for a major contract related to Cuomo’s Buffalo Billion redevelopment program. A ruling will be handed down within the next few months.

Bipartisan House and Senate leaders vow to avert rail strike

A group of bipartisan House and Senate leaders on Tuesday vowed to adopt a tentative agreement between railroad workers and operators to avert a strike that could upend the U.S. economy. After a White House meeting with President Biden, the Democratic and Republican leaders of both chambers of Congress told reporters that they will work to resolve the strike “as quickly as possible.” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, California Democrat, said she plans to move quickly to get legislation to Mr. Biden’s desk. “I don’t like going against the ability of the unions to strike, but weighing the equities we must avoid a strike,” she said. “Tomorrow morning in the House, we’ll bring up the legislation and send it over to the Senate.” Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer, New York Democrat, stood alongside Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, Kentucky Republican, and struck a bipartisan chord about averting the strike. “McConnell and I agreed to try to get it done ASAP,” Mr. Schumer said.

Vaccine push 2.0 incoming

World Leaders Sign Declaration to Introduce COVID Vaccine Passports

At this year’s G20 Summit in Indonesia, the twenty participating world leaders signed a declaration to introduce vaccine passports for their respective jurisdictions, with the stated intention of creating a global verification system to facilitate safe international travel.

What is the G20? The G20, which stands for Group of Twenty, is an assembly of governments and leaders from 20 of the world’s largest economies, and includes Australia. Typically, the group discusses issues of global importance so it is perhaps no surprise that Covid-19 was a particular focus of this year’s summit.

Commitment to vaccines In a statement, the leaders affirmed their respective countries’ support of the World Health Organization mRNA Vaccine Technology Transfer hub, which aims to build capacity in low- and middle-income countries to produce mRNA vaccines. The leaders said they welcome joint production and research of vaccines and acknowledge the importance of shared technical standards and verification methods. They also agreed to a globalised ‘vaccination passport’.

Vaccination passport to be introduced next year While the details are scant at this stage, the statement says this will be done under the framework of the International Health Regulations to “facilitate seamless international travel, interoperability, and recognizing digital solutions and non-digital solutions, including proof of vaccinations.” Indonesia’s Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said that a Digital Health Certificate using World Health Organization standards would be introduced during the next World Health Assembly in Geneva, in May next year. “If you have been vaccinated or tested properly, you can move around. So for the next pandemic, instead of stopping the movement of people 100%, you can still provide some movement of the people,” Mr Sadikin said. Surprisingly, this news has not really grabbed the attention of mainstream media, despite its very serious implications for freedom of personal choice and freedom of movement.

Serious implications For the past two years, Vaccines have been widely promoted, and in many cases mandated, as a way to mitigate the effects of Covid-19. They have caused a great deal of controversy too, particularly when “no jab, no job” policies were introduced. There was a period of time when people who were not vaccinated were banned from entering restaurants, pubs, and clubs, retail shops and hairdressers… you couldn’t cross the border into another state without proof of being double-jabbed with an “approved vaccine”. Kids who weren’t vaccinated were denied sporting activities, and some people were even denied medical treatment. This was not considered discrimination, in fact, in many cases, breaching these health regulations amounted to a criminal offence.

If that was EM and I tend to think it was, he was the only one with balls big enough to take a Q&A on QR and he answered 80% of the questions posed to him. Could be a larp for sure but even that is good intel in itself. There's still those pesky questions about stealing the US Taxpayer blind with subsidies, crashing NASA and NK, but… well, you know.

What I got on that was that Musk lost control of Twitter for a few weeks because of internal bad actors and the anon accounts got comingled with the malicious ban list and they have to visually with a human go through the list to pull the anon accounts back out to unban them which will take months if not years. He sounded sincere that it would get sorted out but not anytime soon. It is what it is. I don't hold it against him and got the sense that he's trying to get as many accounts restored as soon as possible.
