None of this will get any easier until you realize what the Bible really is and why marrying its veracity is a foolish thing to do.
You simply do not get it, which is interesting, considering that your post was pretty interesting in the beginning.
It's too bad that this place was spoiled with normalfag evangelicalism when we could have courted informed folk with sophisticated opinions, but all of those minds got drowned out by the constant consensus of bible-study-tier parroting of whatever someone's priest said at Mass this past Sunday.
There's two ways we can go with this, now that my rant's over: we can assume the original authors were being genuine in this timeline and for that we would have to understand the information contained in The Bible is far older than we know and thus this is only the most recent revision of the story/stories or we're not talking about a single person, but a lineage, a group of people.
While the second one more or less explains itself, I can elucidate the first one. Basically, the idea is that earlier humans had longer life spans for loads of reasons which recent changes explain as in stresses in the environment, chemicals ingested throughout our lives (baby on floor, hands in mouth), the litany of ways our endocrine system is fucked with, food supplies, poor diet advice, an abandonment of Mysticism and a shit ton more.
Probably the biggest mistake Q ever made was appealing too often to the basic, exoteric evangelicals that didn't offer much value to this community beyond agreeing people are "evil", parroting "christ is king" (which I'm not disagreeing with, by the way), by just copying and pasting bible verses like that's ever been very valuable, especially when so few people have anything insightful to say about them, etc.
I love you fags and all, but god damn most of you are still Spiritual infants.
